While this has no relation to MeMod, my/our most beloved reason for visiting these forums, my intention is to "spread the word", if you will, of favorite or current published works of fictionary literature.
I sincerely hope you will post responses that turn this particular community ON to already published, or soon to be published, works worthy of our time and effort!
Best wishes...

Well, I read Catcher in the Rye again recently, a novel I would reccomend to everyone. I am about to get started on that Stephen King "Dark Tower" series.

This. Certainly imaginative, but it needs more voice.

Well done, Gents/Gals! I'm invigorated to learn that others still read.
Salinger's works kept me edified and nourished indoors through an extremely wet California season in the mid '90's! Here's to wishing he hadn't hung up his hat. Although, speculation remains.

I write, which gives me less time to read than I would like. Last serious book I read was a biography of the US composer/conductor - Leonard Bernstein. Fiction was Terry Pratchett , Monstrous Regiment.

I suppose that Terry Pratchett book you point out is the last??? I don't remember about hearing of that title before... Damn, I will have to wait for ages until it's out here in Spain...
I personally would recommend any of Noah Gordon's works. They're superb.

Wolfgang Hohlbein. Frank Herbert. Isaac Asimov. Stephen King. Brian Jacques. C. S. Lewis. Tad Williams. And a lot more. Perhaps someday (when I finished my novel) also Darnoc
But I recommend Wolfgang Hohlbein to everyone. He is the famoust German Fantasy, Science Fiction, Thriller and Horror author. And he is really good. And of course a work-aholic. He writes about ten books at the same time!!!

Well, I jumped itno the Wheel of time series. Im on the second book now, and I hate it. The kind of hate that its so good that you starve yourself because you cant put the book down. A good hate.
It was extremely stupid of me admittedly, because I have to re-read Garth Nix's Sabriel books so I can understand Abhorsen (it finally came out). And George R.R. Martin's 'A feast for Crows' should be coming out sometime in the spring, and I have to re-read his series before I understand that book.
...
That cannot be good for me....

I was reading Allways a Thief by kay hooper, and it was pretty good. i recomend it to avid readers, not peopl like me who are to distracted.
WeSayNothin: would you like an autographed copy of The Wheel of Time: Winters Heart? its the ninth book, in hardback. id be willing to sell it to you. but, im not a very motivated seller, either.

Ehh. Na. Thanks though. I think I better get up there before I have it sitting on my shelf...
watching me...
calling me...
staring at me...
Uh...
I'm broke anyways. I spent too much money on Eye of the World, the Great Hunt, and reserving a hard-back, first print version of feast for crows. I'm actualy in debt.

I'm currently revisiting this tome of mine, The Illustrated Works of Mark Twain. Having a keener perspective of the time frame of the original publication makes it much more interesting.

I'm currently reading IT from Stephen King for the 5th time. It is a great book, from the best writer ever, well, at least in my eyes.
