Hello all, I've been checking out the forums for a couple weeks now and think it's about time I said hi. smile.gif (Please forgive the topic title but I couldn't resist a little Canadian humour).

I tend to choose the games I buy very carefully because I don't buy many, playing the ones I do purchase thoroughly and repeatedly. After some research I happily bought my first TES game (Oblivion GOTY) a few months ago and am enjoying it very very much. As an extra special bonus to a great game, I find that the variety and quality of mods available is simply incredible. Just as special is finding what (at first glance wink.gif ) appears to be a great community here at TES Nexus. Having moderated at a couple of modding community sites for another game I know how difficult this is to achieve... (/me gives a hearty thumbs-up to site staff and helpful community members). I'm also amazed at the pain-free huge download section here. Wow. (If I used an ad-blocker I'd certainly disable it here...). smile.gif

For the last couple years my 'Net "home" has been sites in the Dungeon Siege modding community, and I even created a couple of tiny mods for DS2. I still moderate at one of the sites, but the community has shrunk to almost nothing now... sad what can happen when a developer turns their back on modders (a game patch made using mods with DS2 a major pain).

Anyways, I'm working on a small mod for Oblivion right now (almost finished) while still enjoying my first character's journey around Cyrodiil (before taking on the Shivering Isles). I don't normally enjoy playing evil characters at all, but I think I might take my next character through the Thief / Dark Brotherhood quests just to see what those storylines are like.

I do have one question to ask... I've read in a forum topic (with at least one comment by a staff member) that religious debates are off-limits here. While I understand and agree completely, I'm wondering where this is listed in the rules...? I re-read the "Term of Service" page, and couldn't find any reference to this prohibition. My concern is that there may be another set of rules posted somewhere that I haven't seen (I really don't want to do anything inappropriate here and I know how valuable / necessary clearly defined rules are for community forums).

Well, I've rambled enough for now...

Hello there. I am also by and large no lover of the evil side of things but the DB and later TG quests are among the most interesting in Ob IMO. Do try them out. The Thieves are rather Robin Hoodish in their attitude and in the DB the number of truly innocent victims you have to dispose of is pretty small.

On the religious debate thing, it may be that it came up after the rules were published. No doubt Dark0ne will see this thread and add it if it is missing but no, there are not two sets of rules.

Welcome and enjoy the forums.

Thanks for the welcome (...and other comments too). smile.gif

I trust there aren't any other "unwritten" rules...?

Mmmmm... fishy stick...... *drools* tongue.gif

/me looks at gift jet and sees "RCAF" on the wing... not "USAF".

Thanks!

...and I await news of these 10 commandments. biggrin.gif

Edit:
Hmm. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I notice the picture of the jet appears to be hotlinked. Isn't such a practice considered to be... questionable? I know it is discouraged on the boards I've moderated. confused.gif
