when you got out of the tutorial and out of the sewers what did you do first? did you go to jeffre at chorral chapel or did you just wander about or did you go to a different city.
i went the the arena and did the first few battles to get money

I went to the IC to sell my Loot biggrin.gif
First Thing for me is to get the 2000 Septims to buy the Waterfront Shack. so i may stash the Loot there which i'm going to keep for good, like Mythic Dawn Robes or the Wrist Irons.
GenghisKhanIT
It was so long ag that I can barely remember !

For sure I went to the IC Market District to sell the wonderful stuff I had acquired through the starting dungeon, then I took a visit through the IC in its whole and later I traveled by foot to Chorrol and wandered there a bit.

All in all I remember the first days outside the dungeon as a really wonderful game experience.
Tchos
First thing I did when I got out of the sewer (as I was smiling about the fact that the trees move in the breeze, unlike the static trees from other games) was get attacked by a mudcrab or a giant spider before I got a chance to appreciate being out in the sunlight. I tried fighting it, but I had my difficulty slider up a bit too far, and ended up running away. I sought the refuge of the IC which I saw behind me, and relaxed there for a few days, still unsure if anyone was going to notice I was an escaped prisoner. My first order of business was to dump all the junk loot I'd picked up in the sewers off on any merchant I could find who would take them. In the process I came across the quest line at Jensine's, with the undercutting wood elf vendor who wouldn't join the merchant's price-fixing cartel, and that led to more side quests. I didn't get around to seeing what all the fuss was with the amulet of kings and Jauffre for a couple of weeks.
Stewb
First thing i did was run all the way to Chorrol to see Jauffre, i hadn't worked out about fast travel on my first run. Rather more daftly, i hadn't worked out how much freedom you get, despite playing morrowind. I figured you had to see Jaauffre before you got your freedom, like having to seeing the customs officer in Morrowind, DOH!

Answer to this is paraphrasing Einstein: It's relative smile.gif
If you use OOO and MMM (oscuro's and Martingens's monsters) you run ... run again and so run ... get trained at this ASAP.
Better yet. While doing this head to Skingrad and so to the fighter's or mage's guild and search for a scroll. You will know you found it if you can't find it again. Follow the instructions.
Ah, yes, for this you need the Afinity Sword mod (again I fail to blush) this can be the difference at a dead or alive non cheater wannabe hero biggrin.gif
Indeed this works even for seasoned characters, that is a strange weapon, once you become addicted to it, you don't even perceive it becoming a weak, don't mater how much you level, yet it is nothing that make you feel like running head down amidst powerful enemies.
PS: The first time I played the first thing I did was get froze, I got out the sewers at sundown, that was beautiful... uh... at least until something hit hard my first person legs and I found out what was those infamous mudcrabs everyone jokes about morons that manages being caught by.
Vagrant0
After I left the prison, I swam actross the water, killed off the bandits on the other side, and started making my way around the noth rim of the lake. Stopped along the way to see some running mudcrabs (drawn by their clicking) killed them. Decided to head more inland, attempted to make my way up a clifside, slowly, came up to a fort, nothing in the area. Turned around, walked a bit, battle music started, looked around to see if anything was coming (still had grass enabled at this point), started getting hit by a wolf I couldn't see. At first I thought the grass was causing some sort of videocard issue, so went to look for an area without grass. Turned around, didn't see anything, got hit, got hit again, from a rat now, and by this point I was half dead, spent the next few moments swinging around my weapon hoping to hit something, think I killed the rat, wolf killed me. Disabled the grass the next day... But not before losing a half dozen kills in it.
Lainge
I killed a guard and took his stuff, never the helmet though. That thing is ugly...
The trick at level 1 is, to make sure only one is following you then to lead him to the water and drown him.
Aerin Morth
I seem to remember wandering aimlessly until I was killed by a rat. I always start off games like that.

If you couldn't see the attacker is the same as the one of Vagrant0 above. That fort is related to a quest given in a little settlement nearby. Not surprising is about everyone there being invisible...
moszibby
First thing I did was get killed.
It was glorious. Blood and guts everywhere, and my rotting corpse left a vile stench that sickened people for miles around for days on end....

Nah, the rat was hiding in the tall grass and I couldn't see it, so I started freaking out. Leftover memories of cliffracers had me shooting into the sky randomly.
Sharkull
Started walking along the island shore, killing a couple crabs (and finding some pearls). Found another sewer entrance (locked) and then thought I'd take a look at the big city. Made my way to the Market District entrance (with a canine ambush startling me on the way... but I prevailed, barely). Saw a Wanted poster, and chatted with a couple guards (it was night and raining so nobody else was around) then went out into the wilderness again. Continued exploring the shoreline, and eventually decided to take a swim. Crawling ashore near Fanacasecul I was promptly dispatched by an axe wielding kajiit bandit.

Well, the first play through, i left the sewers and went strait to vilverin. Then the IC, being amazed at the visuals as i go. Then i just kinda wandered about, and did the main quest rather early, finishing it at lvl 8. rolleyes.gif
thiosk2
Straight to cheydinhal. First sign I saw. Did everything the orcish chick that sold weapons told me to do; ruins and a couple caves. Still sell everything to her preferentially because shes got the highest disposition and lowest mercantile skill of anyone i've come accross in my travels thus far.

Then I accidentally pissed off the mages guild and they squashed me like a mudcrab.
S2RA
First time: Made me a Jack-of-All Trades custom class female dark-elf Dunmer something like that. Well I walked her out the dungeon swam across to Vilvern and preceded to sneak shot followed by flare followed by half dying in every fight till I got to the bandit boss, somehow I missed him on the way up the stares, got the Aelyd stone and headed back down thinking there was only the bandit I'd heard on the lower level, OOPs didn't see or hear until the first he hit me and that took me to half and I ran to get some spell room and bow room but he hit from behind and I continued from the door again. blink.gif
Carah
I swam over to Vilvern, and then went to the Elven Gardens. After that I can not remember, because that was seven months ago. What I do remember was doing a lot of elven ruins, caves, and wondering.
Sarya
I remember exiting sewers, then I got into the water and was completely sure I won't be able to swim as I wore heavy armor. Well... I guess that was a disappointment.
Lisnpuppy
I played 1st on the Xbox. This was one of the 1st RPG games I had played and the first I had played alone. I died quickly....it took me I dont know how long to figure out how to swing a sword and turn at the same time. Was always wacking the wrong direction. And to this day I still have trouble climing stairs without falling down at least once...

efe90efe
Cracked the arena lockbox tongue.gif
I was rather dissapointed when found out there was only 200 gold in it though
Then i bought myself a decent set of armor and started slaying the daedra!!
Malchus
First time out?

Goodness that was nigh 8 months ago.

Went over to Vilverin, trying combat...did alright.

Got over encumbered, headed to the IC and spent three hours trying to find the freaking market district...

The rest is history.

The first thing I did was run around to the IC looking at my tail and saying, wow, it moves! One of the smaller joys I still remember today.
Then of course, I restarted two days later to change how I looked....but that is another tale. tongue.gif
assin001
but that is another tale

what is that tale
yibble2
when i got out, i went into the aylied ruins opposite the sewer gate called vilverin. it has all of the stuff a begginer needs including almost a full suit of normal iron armour, leather, green robes, matching hood sandals and alot of welkynd stones and a note on whee best to sell them, if you carry on you can get a varla stone, an aylied statue which is really handy for the related quest and a necromancer to kill. so when i got to jauffre's, i took all of the equipment in his chest and sold it all in chorrol for a nice tidy profit before going of to do vaious quests
tungol
I got out at sundown, and remember standing on the pier enjoying the view and thinking, "What a lovely ruin with a nice inviting fire. I wish I could go over there and talk with those folks." But I was afraid to hop in the water because I didn't know if I could swim. So I went to the IC, sold my loot, talked to some folks, left the crates alone (that would be STEALING--before I learned about the red hand), and picked up on Jensine's quest. Then for the next three nights (IRL!) I tried to trail Thoronir (that was before I learned about the journal) and tried to listen in on his conversation--but I was being sneaky and never got close enough, so the quest never advanced. So in frustration, I went on to perform that vile emperor-worship quest they gave me.

It's been nearly two years and I honestly don't remember. I'll tell you this though, I got Morrowind for XBOX the day it came out, put in over 500 hours on each of two separate characters and never completed the main quest. I got Oblivion for PC the day it came out, then I found out Bethesda had fudged the minimum requirements and it sat in a drawer for two months until I brought my computer (purchased soley to play Oblivion) up to speed. Since then I have put in over 1000 hours on one character and I have never completed the main quest. Now I'm modding the game and I don't play much anymore so it looks like I will never complete the main quest. Welcome to massive open world RPG's, Bethesda style.

Well I never forget my first day in Oblivion, I was just out of the dungeon and I was just shocked how the graphics were... It was awesome, it was brilliant, the trees were swinging gently with the breeze, the grass was moving in harmony with the wind, the sun was shining, a butterfly was flying near me and I was amazed with the view in front of me and... POW!!!

While I was watching and enjoying the view, a bandit came near me (Yea the first bandits on the isle there near the aeylid ruins biggrin.gif) and crushed my skull with a huge war hammer biggrin.gif eventually I was crawling on the floor with my brains splattered all over the grass biggrin.gif

It was awesome...
ApocalypticBiscuit
o wow, a whole few weeks ago,,... um, went to the arena district, earned the gladiator rank, completed the kvatch invasion, then returned to kick the grand champion's arse....
Lainge
Actually first time I played I was at a friends place. I didn't even know that I could fast travel, so I walked alot. And found some abandoned farm, that I haven't been able to find since.
Halororor
Ok, I went to Vilverin, almost got my assed kicked because I couldn't find the archer who was continuously shooting me. Went inside, cleared the place and didn't find the hidden entrance to the undead part of thee ruin and left. Went to the IC and joined the arena, did the grand champions quest, turned into a vampire and cleared out a lot of ruins and caves. Oh yeah, did I mention dying a lot?

Go to the Imperial City, sell the items I found in the Tutorial, walk to Cheydinhal Pet Shop (Mod), buy a dog, go to my house (Mod I made) and pick some vegetables. I'm more into the classic lifestyle, not the killing and fighting. I like to admire the beauty!
princesshelzi
First time I ever played?

I ran up the hill and saw the deer, and spent about half an hour following them and gasping at the detail.
Wingfoot
Man, I didn't even know what to do.
I just wandered around for a while, then got attacked by a wolf. I killed it, then relized how dangerous it was (and hw full my inventory was) and booked it to the nearest town. I sold my stuff and tried to join the Fighter's Guild, but there wasn't one in the town, so I migrated to the nearest town with a fighter's guild. The beginning of a great adventure!
josh900
i remember running around the IC killing everone whoops.gif
Leenysaurus
First time I played?

I died quickly and pitifully.

=/

I've gotten a LITTLE better since then. I'm not level 50 yet, but my deaths are a lot less pitiful than that first time.

First thing I did was, because I was so happy to be free, is I took off my shirt and took a swim in that lake. Then, I fight some arena battles. whistling.gif I killed a guard, then realized I was spotted. I started whistling. I have 5000 septims, because i fought and sold stuff. rolleyes.gif ahh, good times.

My first time playing I went strait to Vilveren after I got out of the sewers. I still go there right after the sewers to get some combat experience, loot, and a varla stone. Then after vilv I went to jaffre/Kvatch to grab my first sigil stone. I watched my friend play oblivion long before I got my own copy, I don't think I picked up the game untill after SI came out. (My comp couldn't run obliv and I had no Xbox360)
MikeHibs
The first thing that I did when I got out of the sewers was go straight. I killed a few bandets but was kinda afraid to go inside vilverin since I had know idea what was in it. So I went to Cheydinhal and consantly heard rumors about the fighters guild so I went to the guild hall and joined but didn't get far because I eventually went to jauffre and started the main quest.
Varus Torvyn
The first thing I did was to go to Vilverin. After taking care of the two bandits outside and powering up at the Ayleid Well, I went inside to get the prize. The "Bag of Holding" (a mod) is in the boss area. The Bag lets you carry a ton of extra loot.

When I installed that mod I got the dreaded grey and yellow !. I still do so I just put the bag in a chest.

But then how do you advance? For NPCs in need, help never arrives. Mehrunes Dagon reigns supreme. Mankar Cameron laughs and says, "Pick more veggies!"

Hire some adventurer to do your dirty work for you. It's what all civillians do in RPGs

I was too scared to go into the Imperial City worrying that I'd get thrown back into jail. I wandered around the outskirts of the Imperial City til I found the old wooden bridge and headed straight for Weynon Priory.
dezdimona
the very first thing I did was die!... biggrin.gif
firefable
I started shooting at a crab, wasted all my arrows, tried to fight it with a dagger, but it broke, then i got killed by the same crab! How interesting.....
hybridfan
I just walked around for a while picking flowers and trying to pet a deer sad.gif
skythe
I wandered around and stumbled upon a Nirnroot. I found out I had to head to Skingrad to find an alchemist but when I got there I got pulled aside by Glarthir. After following the people around I decided to tell him they were in fact watching him, even though it didn't seem to me that they were, because I thought if I told him otherwise he wouldn't pay me tongue.gif
After I followed all three he gave me the list to kill them and instead of doing that I showed it to a guard and the guard killed him. It was awesome!!
del_diablo
Stumbeled upon a mudcrab and looked how much better it looked than in Morrowind.
Then i raided the ruin, sold my loot, went to Bruma, doing a little mageguild stuff, went back to the main quest.
shadowace
I, killed a mudcrab, then went swimming and died shortly after, by a slaughterfish....
