IronicEcho
@nmitch: This is not the place to ask mod questions. So please take that elsewhere.

@XJDHDR: You must have a slow connection because I load facebook in less then 3 seconds on a bad day.

@jete70: Thanks for the deduction of which you prefer. Now how about telling us why instead of posting pointless coments that make you look stupid?

IE is only unsafe is your a stupid person who knows nothing about computer safty. I have never had a problem with IE in the 12ish years ive used it. Only problems ive had were my own doing.

Is it just me or do those polls not work in Firefox (2)?

@poll: Internet Explorer sux, Opera ... well I'm missing too many of the FireFox plug-ins

Abusive post deleted.

Remain civil, or say nothing.

If you need an answer to a specific question, it's better to make a new topic about it in the relevant section, rather than hijack an unrelated topic.

Thats because this is a descussion about which web browser people use. Try reading. Go post your question in the correct place.
Mad_Rage
i mainly use fire fox but lol i preferd explore (eppp be nice people be nice *hides*)

am a network administrator and firefox is unsecure also it can't open administrating tools sites lol

but also explore as a larger ability of security (yes it is secure if you know how to configure it and work with the tools provide with it lol)

I voted Firefox - It's been the best browser since v0.9, and I've been using it ever since.

And, by the way, it's written "Firefox" and abbreviated "Fx". Not "Fire Fox", "FireFox" or all the other loads of ways you guys write it tongue.gif I'm actually surprised the thread started wrote it "Fire Fox". There's no space.

I think that Mozilla Firefox its a really good internet browser. I mean, if you got a decent internet connection, you can acces a lot of good extra features and plugins. That, and the automatic updates (besides another things that i didn't discover yet! ) gives a very easy user friendly browser. Ah, sorry if I made a grammar mistake! Your lang its very simple for my complex brain... or viceversa. xD

@nmitch: Go to the forum. It isn't rocket science. Obviously if people are talking about what web browser they are using, then obviously its a discussion about it. Use your head man. I know you have a brain in there.

Now, back on topic. It seems people only pick Firefox because it has addons, and supposedly security. But like Mad_Rage said, IE can be very secure if you know how to configure it. Combine with some nice free multipurpose programs such as AVG and Spybot S&D, your computer can be very safe.

Apart being tightly integrated to the kernel and so a portal to privileged instructions, IE is secure (well, most using XP doesn't even disables the nefand Netbios anyway...)

I found an interesting article to anyone willing to go beyond the "which" into the "why" (actual enough even being 3 years old). Anyway is enough to answer a question: why place in the kernel something that is a gateway to malicious code?
Aerythical
Alot of people seem to like Firefox, but I don't think they've tried Opera. Opera is FAST. Much faster than firefox or IE.
Nuclearsilo
FireFox is the best ^^
zaczombie
firefox is probly the best one ive used so far, ive always liked it over ie.
kracka
Opera's nice, and I'm surprised people still use IE, but it doesn't have the addons or other nifty features that I use Firefox for. I've had no problems with security either. Spybot S&D comes up clean and I can't remember the last time I had a virus/trojan problem, partially thanks to AVG.

ye ok nice 1 m8

I have mac so not a big suprise I use Safari. Just wondering why Safari isn't one option in the poll... >_>

Internet Explorer = Internet Exploder

Opera! But I do not know why. Just like that.

FireFox = the best biggrin.gif

Quite a lot of people use Firefox but truth is that Opera is better

just so that everyone knows, INTERNET EXPLORER SUCKS!!
it actualy takes bits and pieces of your computer and gives to other companies while your surfing. (this is not 100% fact, but be careful.(and ONLY while your surfing)).(it's also really slow and disfuntional). firefox rules. i wonder what "opera" is like?

fire fox is the best and always will be
Kraken Eater4
Fire fox is what I use. Never even heard of opera.
eraldoe
Firefox rules! i have no idea why i ever used to use internet explorer a year. I also thinks its rather humorous that Safari isn't even included as a browser even though its the default of a mac. Perhaps even apple users hate the apple browser.

Just being connected to the internet, not even browsing it, puts your computer as risk. Not as much as surfing, but its still open to attacks. So really, your browser has little to do with your security. It can help prevent things from being downloaded that could be a problem, but it can not stop hackers.
test
Firefox is SO much secure and better than IE, also theres Bon Eco, wich is an upgrade of firefox, no one bothers to upgrade IE!!!:) GO GO FIREFOX GO GO
Phitt
I use Opera. The whole layout is very user friendly, it's much faster than Firefox (even with a fast internet connection and good hardware) and it's the most secure browser in the world. Yay!
WhiteTorch
I agree I thing firefox is the best
willyx
I currently use Firefox, but I'm trying to get used to Opera's interface.

Let me tell you one thing though, Opera is 3x faster than Firefox will ever be.
Unoptical
I use Firefox, it rules ^.^ Once my dad installed Opera on my comp and I'm just like wtf! I didn't like its system, so I changed it back.
xBarcio
Fire fox is what I use. Never even heard of opera.
Langaly
I use Firefox, and (if I read this right) Firefox 3 is the most secure now (altho it just came out), I'm thinking about using opera as a sub browser... I hear it has a difficult User Interface, but faster.

Plus FireFox has some awesome add-ons.
wierdcon
firefox ofcours
Ryuujin-0
I still do use Firefox as my primary browser, but since Firefox's most recent release (Version 3?) it's become a LOT more sluggish to use thanks to it's new search feature in the URL bar, and I'm seriously considering trying out a new browser like opera
mps21
Why i use opera?
Because it is in my opinion the best browser out there.
And why?
Because Iexplorer has slow loading of websites on this computer of me, and firefox.. yeah i tried that, but im not happy with it, cause opera is a little bit faster, and i dont like the lookout of firefox, but firefox, has a steady stable number 2 posistion over here..
But i suggest that you all try opera for a little while..
ITs really a nice browser lol tongue.gif
dm10111
