The AK.

You can beary it in sand, throw it in the water and fire it, drive over it with a tank, missabuce it to the point of destruction and it will still fire.

The accuracy is in the middle, the recoil is hard but it packs a 7.62 punch and wil propably blow the head off a Rhino!

The AK is the most used weapon in the world there is eaven a land in Africa that has the AK on its national flag its extreamly reliable and you could modify it to a sniper, Grenade luncher or a LMG.

The M-16 jamms weary easily and has a smal round and are designed ti injure a hostile the AK has one function KILL.

Thats why AK ruules!
Lord Slyther
I have an AK-47 mod for Oblivion if you guys are into that.

I gotta say, the M4-A1 Enforcer(the one with the grenade launcher and scope together), and the M16 are my favorite rifles. The Desert Eagle is my top favorite handgun due to it's high capacity.

The M16 is standard issue, but the AK-47 deals higher capacity than the M16, because the bullets are bigger.

The bigger the bullet, the higher the damage impact.

WoogieMonster
You all think too small. I give you the US Navy CIWS (close-in weapons system).

Ammo: 20mm depleted uranium
Rate of fire: 300 rounds per second
Cyclic rate: 1,200 rounds fired before first round reaches target

Anything larger than a soda can and moving faster than an old woman in a wheelchair is enough for the system to activate. CIWS does not ask for permission, it does not give second chances and nothing lives to fight another day.

I think we're talking about rifles and handguns here. I know huge guns like those could rip someone apart, but is there a certain rifle or a handgun you like, WM?
WoogieMonster
I only carried a weapon on watch, and it was always a shotgun. No fancy stocks, no belly clips, no mods. Half the time you couldn't even identify the brand you were carrying. But it always fired and I guess that's what counts, and if there was a problem it was big enough to use as a club. Good old military equipment, ah the memories.
hoots7
Machine guns are for war and there are many good ones HK, M16 Uzi but the most dependable I would have to say is the AK47.
As far as hand guns I prefer a 45 automatic.
Higher velocity guns like a 9 millimeter will go right through a person, if the guy is tripped out on drugs it may not even phase him unless you make a kill shot. If I shoot him with my 45 on the shoulder, leg, body or maybe even the arm or foot he is going to the ground and that gives me time.
Time to ether shoot again, call for help or leave.
45 is what I prefer, 50 is better but the recoil & shell price is bad.
jaysus
the uzi is not really a mashine gun more of a sub mashine wink.gif

as to the ak... ya its widespread and very durable, and by now there are tons of mods and newer versions that really rock... mozambique has it on its flag but yeah crazy people lol... the most important part of an ak is that anyone could repair it and youll find ammo wherever you go smile.gif
ive never heard of a sniper or precision version tho... the SVD or dragunov is a completely different gun if you mean that one...

as for durability and precision id take the steyr aug (5.56) even tho i hate its looks... for the punching power of an ak with the precision of an m16/4 id take the HK G3 (also 7.62 ammo)

a wonderful maintenance free sniper rifle would be the AW from accuracy international

if i could afford the weapon and ammunition id take the HK G11 tho... its that shellless ammunition firing gun that does a 3 round burst before recoiling... was supposed to replace the G3 but in favor of money they took the G36 which is ok but the scope seems to break loose quite often if you hit the dirt with it

the desert eagle i really adore but dont think of as practicable as long as you dont have paws instead of hands and legs instead of arms lol

as to bullets going right through a person or not... that doesnt depend on the size of the bullet but its style... for example a normal ak47 round would go right through but most soldiers cut off the tips thus the projectile will break on impact, or start tumbling once it hits and create a wound channel that no doc can easily fix... that is a break of the geneva treaties tho but taking in count that even the us police is issued hollow point ammo i dont mind...

oh dont forget the nice famas smile.gif just getting ammo might be hard

i think the choice of weapon really depends on the situation... a wakizashi, kukri or axe, one beretta 92fs or hk usp and the rifle/gun of your choice would be suitable i guess wink.gif
but dont underestimate the weight of all that stuff and the necessary ammo and equipment like water etc...
what i mean is we can of course talk about the nicest gun but without the circumstances to use it in a discussion ala "which gun is best" is kinda pointless imo

While in Iraq i carryed the HK G3!

It was a precise weapon and had a 7.62mm FMJ round! but if you tryed to fire it in full auto you would propaply only hit clouds!
therfore whe only used it as a long range weapon!

In close combat situation we used the HK MP-5 it has a small 9mm round and low accuracy but it would knock a guy to the ground in close combat! but if you used holow tip round you would do severe damage to a hostile!

We also had the Glock 18 wich is the most horrible weapon iv ever tryed it also has a 9mm round and ar made mostly of plastic that makes it weary light weightet!

But if i had to choose a weapon to carry in to combat i would carry the modified version of the AK-47 the AK-74 it has a 5.56 round an are as reliable as the AK-47 but greater acccuracy and lesser recoil! you can also modify it with laser sights, red dot, flashligt, silencer, grenade luncher and much more!

The Russian produses weapons that are easy to handle and field clean, reliable and has a great fear factor! pluss it look's awesome:p

Im Nowegian and i love guns! guns solve problems in a easier and faster way then nagotiation tongue.gif
jaysus
if you cut yourself dont blame the knife whistling.gif

but i have to say i also think the world is overloaded with weapons and mankind spends too much time inventing, producing and using weapons instead of working on greater goals... and stuff like that ironstom gun, gas, biocrap, mines, bombs and rockets plain suck... a fight blade to blade or even gun to gun is somewhat fair and depends on your skill... pushing a button doesnt.

I can shoot laser beams out of my eyes, and that is far as I will go. Fire arms, don't like them. I'm Canadian, we don't carry fire arms, we carry beer.

BLAM.. and I don't have to argue anymore why my idea was better. biggrin.gif

I've played too much stealth games as I love every weapon that has optical infrared sight/scope, laser sight and silencer and also some weird design like FN P90 or FN F2000. Also, when I grow up I will get married with this.

Oh those guns too are my favorite! I love the SC-20K from Splinter Cell. Good gun for spec op missions in my mod. I attempted to make that gun myself. Although it's considered an FN F2000. And the WA2000 sniper rifle is yet a powerful one. The P90 is also my favorite sub-machine gun.

Lol. This thread is ridiculous and scary.

I was about to pull the American card before Bluekatt, but now I know not everyone's posting from the States. Which actually scares me more. Of course I shouldn't be surprised as I've noticed an awful lot of my fellow members enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood a little too much. whistling.gif

To stay somewhat on topic...uh...I used to do water gun battles. If that counts. So my favourite should probably be a Super Soaker of some sort.
Lord Barkmann
Hands down the Desert Eagle 5.0
I like the GIAT FAMAS assault rifle
jaysus
DE 5.0? did you mean 0.50? or are you referring to the quite old DE mark V? cause mark XIX is out yet...

My favourite is the Lee-Enfield a rifle of English army of the World War by James Paris Lee in 1907 , and the SMLE Mk III

...had a gun once...shot potato pellets...but they took it away from me, 'cause i kept hurting myself. 2006...seems like yesterday. Happy days.
jaysus
good ol potatoe guns are prohibited now somewhere in europe... seems they realized how hard a golf ball instead of a potatoe hits... pity

as to the magpull masada... seems like a cheap scar copy to me and it isnt even in production yet... only prototypes

as to the judgement of which weapon to carry:

how far
how obvious
how many
how many at once
how much cover (what terrain)
climate
what protection on the enemy
what kind of friendly and enemy cover

for example a shotgun like the spas is nice in cqc but depending on how many enemies youll encounter close up a chainsaw or an uzi might be better... also is it narrow staicases or open office halls? both cqc but a shotgun would probably be better in the narrow setting and youll get better results with more maneuvability and a faster rate of fire in open space

a shotgun with an automatic kitchen knife attached as bayonett will prolly rule cqc tho

as to an rpg with chainsaw ammunition... kinda pointless... funny but pointless and thus not so funny... if you hit somthing with a rocket its getting smashed... even the chainsaw will be... no use for it... just put in a bunch of metal and youre fine...
a chainsaw as a riot dispersing weapon would probably work tho... you will think twice to throw that rock if your buddy just lost his arm for that... works the other way too i guess... you wont throw much teargas with no arms...

back to guns... dont you american guys find it kinda retarded that youre allowed to own guns like a single shot ak but are prohibited from attending ninjutsu classes?

Didn't know Ninjutsu classes were banned in the U.S., I mean yes, I'm sure teaching people how to actually & specifically assassinate people (AKA terrorist) should not be allowed.

As long as the martial arts training was self defense I don't see anything wrong with it.
That's what handgun training is, they don't teach you how to assassinate some one using a gun, they teach you how to defend yourself & love ones from an attacker trying to kill you.

Even neutral people like me are into firearms!

F2000 is my favourite.

Some may remember the P90. This is an assult variant.
poopgoblin
Which ever one is in my hand(s).

But I can't pick just one, it's like choosing a favorite child.

So here's a list of ones I like A LOT.

BAR

M82A1 Barrett

The 25 Mike Mike Bushmaster chain gun on Bradley fighting vehicles

The 7.62mm coax on an Abrams (the small tube to the right of the barrel, your left)

And last, but certainly no least...
The GAU-8A Avenger placed in the nose of A-10 Thunderbolt IIs.

It's funny, nobody seems to like the small guns very much.

What do you consider small? A pistol or a sub machine gun?

The Noisy Cricket!

jaysus
small? anything smaller than my dong thus artillery.... whistling.gif

but ya either the HK usp or the Beretta 92fs... everything else either doesnt have enough ammo for a prolonging firefight or is just plain crap... not saying that a 1911 is bad but compared to the two named above its too slow for me...
fork movie guns... that grasshopper or whatever was actually invented during ww2 by the oos and uses real bullets instead of imaginary laser beams and thus really kills anything but hollywood aliens...
DeathWarrior
Pistols: Tokarev TT-33, Makarov PM, Desert Eagle, FN Five-seveN, Sig P220/226/228/229
Shotguns: Street Sweeper (Armsel Striker/Protecta), Mossberg 500/590, Winchester 1887 (like the one from Terminator 2)
SMGs: Beretta Model 12, PPSh-41, PPS-43, AKS-74U, FN P90, M3A1 Grease Gun
Rifles (Semi-Auto, Bolt-Action, etc...): SKS, M14, Dragunov SVD, Arctic Warfare Magnum
Assault Rifles: AK47, AKS-47/AK47S, AKM, AKMS, AK74, AK74M, AK103, AR15/CAR15*, M16/A1/A2/A3*, FN FAL
Rocket Launchers: RPG2, RPG7, Strela 2/SA-7 Grail

Non-Firearm Weapons:
-Double-Edged Viking Longsword (Really a modified Spatha)
-Spatha
-The sword the Spartans use in 300 (I think its a Kopis)
-Claymore (The Scottish Sword, not the explosive)
-Falchion

From the list, I have 2 Claymores hanging on my wall and I've fired a gun looking similar to the Makarov PM or Sig P220/226/228/229

*Classic style (before circa 2006), no foregrips, piccany rails, etc...

I think the illegality of what your friend was trying to tell you may actually be related to teaching such arts without the proper permits, rather than going to the local dojo and learning them for defense.
Then again, this may also be a minor misunderstanding or urban legend that may have originated with an old Jean-Claude Van Dam movie where he killed someone and the court deemed his body a lethal weapon and prohibited him from ever fighting.

My dad, chief of police for near half my lifetime, is close friends with the local sheriff. At a function BBQ one weekend, a group of cops were joking about how big I was (compared to when they knew me as a kid). As a joke, I told the sheriff I'd forgotten to stop by the station and get registered, it was funny at the time, but later he told me that if anyone really walked into his station and said "I'm here to register myself as a lethal weapon..." he'd lock them up until the hospital sent a shrink to check him out.

So, while it's no secret that I have always preferred my hands over a firearm, to say "I am a lethal weapon, I'm so good it's illegal" is just fantasy driven ego stroking. It's not real, at least not in this state.
jaysus
regarding that lethal weapon stuff... dunno the laws in the states regarding that but in germany if your kill someone in a brawl and you had knowledge of self defense and had the chance to back out... youre a murder... if you never had any lessons youre just an unlucky pal who will not get murder charges as it will be deemed as an accident in self defense... i think its similiar in the states (only remember that con air movie - which is of course not necessarily a good example lol - ... but thats basicly the thing)
man why cant i go into a police station and say im a deadly weapon of my own kind? theyll lock you up? woha... in france youd get a job in the foreign legion lol... just walk in a police station, say you wanna kill and whoop up you go into the basic evaluation in castel (if youre not a complete honk that is)...

My favorite guns are all based on video games with no knowlege of what their like in the real world, in fact outside of games I don't particularly like guns but here goes. I love the Dragonov SDV I've always seen it depicted as an acurate and powerful rifle. I also love the M4-A1/M203 combo purely based on how they look and again they always seem to be depicted as reliable guns. My favorite sidearm is easily the Deagle .50, all shooter games I play the Deagle is my signature weapon and it seems to always have the coolest sound when fired, just gotta love the hand cannons.
