Well all know about the mudcrab and creeper merchants, and their value in buying expensive items (if you don't know about mudcrab and creeper, please direct yourself to the spoilers section).

But if you're a purist like me who doesn't believe in "exploits", "cheating" (except if morrowind deletes an NPC--oops!), or even too many plugins, is there somewhere on this vast internet a chart of some kind that contains a list of all merchants, their locations, and their bartering amounts?

In many cities I find myself burdened with goods, and the standard shops are either too far away or oversold, and I need another recepient of my goods. It would be nice to pull up an excel spreadsheet and sort all the merchants by location and how much they can buy. Some merchants I've run into come quite close (close as in over 1000) to creeper's buying amount: one guy in vivec had a 3500 limit. The armorer in balmora has 1500.

I've tried google, but all I get is "mudcrab this" and "creeper that".

If such a project doesn't exist, maybe we can pool our resources and make one?

The Construction Set does allow you to view the amount of "barter gold" on each NPC, but it's only accessible through after "unblocking" and NPC and going through its sub-menus. If there were an automatic process of sorting NPC's by their barter gold, this procedure could be done quite quickly.

Well, if the UESP wasn't down again, I'd say you're too late and it's already been done. But now, I just say you're crazy for having this much dedication to Morrowind.

PierreBeauregard, I can send you a list of all the NPCs in the game together with their bartering potential. It does not always list what they buy and sell but you are welcome to use it as a starting point. I am currently updating it for the expansions and a few omissions but it's in excel spreadsheet format so easily amended. If you wish tohave it, please PM me your email address. I was thinking what would be even cooler is converting one to a microsoft access database... one could do wonders with that. Too bad not many people have access installed.
