i just got knights of the nine and i put the disk in and in the instructions it says to download the patch v1.1finalenglish and when i tryed to get it it says that an old file was not found but a file with the same name was but they do not match um can any 1 take me through how to install it plz

ok wait i think i got it now. i have downloaded all the things from the knights of the nine now and they r all in my oblivion data file thingy when u run oblivion and click data file now should they work in the game?

seems it refers to old Oblivion patch 1.1, and probably you already have the 1.2 patch... so no problem

k thanks, i was just playing it a few questions....when i find frostcrag spire and i go to he person that i am told to go to to buy the decerations to restore the place the person doesnt have a buy and sell option when i talk to them and same with the another place (forget its name)
should the patch u told me to download fix it and also how do i start the knights of the nine quest?

The diary must have been read, and the 1.1 or higher patch needs to be applied.

and what about the knights of the nine quest hoq do i start that?

Go to anvil church. A guard should approach you if you go near the doors, that triggers the quest

ok new problem in the knights of the nine quest i am recovering the crusader relics, at the moment i am trying to get the shield and in the last puzzle before u get it u have to step onto and the pressure pad and the little sign comes up obave the chest in front of the statues and u have to collect the the objet inside the middle chest and then put it in the correct chest and i get the sword first and when i step on the pressure pad it comes up with the cup and i keep stepping on it and only the cup keeps coming is that suppost to happen and also i put the sword into the chest with the cup it disapeared and it didnt reapear in the middle chets could this be a bug and how would i fix it?

I don't know if it's a bug, but you should download the Unofficial Oblivion Patch because it fixes a lot problems in the nights of the nine.

ok forget it that was a waste i found out myself and usual ill keep that in mind to try and figure it out before asking for help straight away.
but now i do have a problem i am searching for the crusaders boots and i am now in the grove of kynareth and i have to wait for the test that i have to do but i wait for ages and nothing happens how would i go about fixing this?
plz help if u can but i will probally figure it out myself.

That's exactly why you should download th UO patch. The woman won't talk to you unless you've got that patch. It is a bug that left lots of players baffled.

its a problem that comes with the installation order, i read it somewhere that i can't remember , but installing KOTN last (i think, been a while since i installed the KOTN addons) actually stops the bug somehow.

It doesn't sound to much like a bug in the game, but just you're rushing ahead (gratned, it could very well be a bug).

You can easily re-install KoTN, which will patch itself. You won't need to start it again either.
Make sure you talk to the woman at the shrine and get the quest marker (all topics should be brown).

SPOILER!

Then go to the shrine and wait for a bit, not 'rest', just stay still. Eventually a bear will come by and attack you. Don't hurt it, just shield its attacks. If you have reflect damage then take that off. After a little thrashing, it will walk away and you can continue the quest.

so when i reinstall it i click on it then it says do u want to completely remove this application and all of its features do i click that or what sry not to good with computers...

yes, you click that. Then check your data files for KOTN just to be sure.

its all ok now i fixed it u wount believe what was wrong it wasnt a bug or anything and i didnt need to reinstall it
but the problem was that the bear did come because it was stuck behind rocks so i had to get my character and actually push the bear out,
it took a while but i got it it was pretty frustrating but its all good thx for the help!
