In my opinion Mark Knopfler isn't the best guitar player ever..... It is very hard to say who is best when it comes to something like guitars.

I enjoy listening to these 2 guitarist


Doyle Dykes and Lorenzo Micheli

There is also Tommy Emmanuel and many others but I still think one of the better players ever was Chet Atkins....

I'm a great fan of Mark Knopfler & Dire Straits, but regarding how the question was made (''Is''...in this case) I think he is not the best as long as Eric Clapton lives, hopefully!

Everyone, keep in mind that an older musician does not mean that he or she is better. Some may have starter earlier, but the student can surpass the master.
