I have not been playing oblivion very long and i have been having problems with the game freezing up! i just play a little and then it suddenly goes back to the desktop, then when i go back to oblivion and its frozen and i have to do ctrl-alt-delete and end the program!

plz help me!

Something is running in the background that is demanding your attention. Are you by any chance running crossfire? Oblivion really doesn't like being minimized....

The two most likely reasons would be:

1 - a program running in the background interrupting the game. If your computer is on line while you are playing, it could be a spyware blocker doing a quick scan, or virus protection updating its self or scanning the system.

2 - you maybe accidentally hitting the windows key (between the Ctrl and Alt keys on the left side, and has the windows logo on it) which will cause the game to be minimized. I've done this more times than I care to admit, usually when the room is too dark and I can't see the keyboard.

What ever the reason is, when Oblivion is forced to minimized it will often freeze when you try to go back to it.
