Do all the vampire quests. They have a few rewards. Clan Aundae is best for rewards but for full time playing suits magic users best. Before becoming a vampire, get the Necromancer's amulet from Trebonius, it constantly renews your health and Eleidon's Ward (good for healing). With these you can travel around in daylight without dying. If you can download the official plug-ins, do the propylon index quest. You can travel more quickly between them with the master index and it is the only form of fast travel available as a vampire. Otherwise check out past threads (mostly over 30 days now) to get other advice.
You will not be able to do other quests so decide if you want to do others before getting it in the neck.

How soon can you become a vamp or wolf in this game? I have the XBOX GOTY version by the way, so there is probably a difference.

You can get infected with either from day one -- the transformation for a werewolf takes three days afterward and the transformation to a vampire takes five. However, I don't think many level 1 players could take down a vampire or werewolf.

Since you are playing it on the Xbox you can`t get mods to have people talk to you. If you are a vampire none of the townspeople will talk to and guards will attack you on sight. There are a bit of drawbacks. I`m not sure about a werewolf, but I think its about the same.

On PC becoming a vampire takes three days, Marxist - the same as the werewolf. Some people who play as a vampire do not realise the number of miscellaneous quests there are with good rewards. However, as pointed out above, especially where there are no mods available, continued playing as a vampire makes the game pretty difficult. Furthermore you get no quests besides the vampiric ones. If you have done the main MW quest you cannot become a vampire except via a cheat (I suspect not available on xbox). The vampiric quests are hard to track down - check out my pinned thread on quests easy to miss for some info - but worth doing. I always get cured.

Medila Indaren in the Caldera Guild of Mages sells a spell with a Weakness to Common Disease effect that can be made into a spell allowing you to become a vampire even if you have disease resistance -- the Amulet of Infection Charm can also be used for this purpose, Malchik.

hm.... I made a mod once that enables you to become a vampire, no matter if you`re immune to diseases or not. You may be Nerevarine and it still works. You may also choose which clan do you want to join.
Please keep in mind two things:
firstly, it`s been made within the Polish version so the cell ID can vary, therefore you have to work this out on your own hand with the TESCS. It`s quite easy if you find cells that don`t match for Balmora and take the NPC`s from there. Depending on the script, one is for each clan.
Notice also it may be treated as a way of cheating.
Ah, notice also, I cannot remember HOW I did it and how it works actually. Too much time passed.
The file is attached... think it may work, but first read the post PLEASE.
If you find any problems , PM

I kind of figured you're pretty much stuck if you become a vampire, at least for the XBOX version. However, I was told that unless you are seen changing into lupin form there will be no problem with you being a werewolf and continuing to complete quests.
