I's not just bethsoft.com but elderscrolls.com too.

EDIT: nevermind they are both back now. smile.gif

They've been fading in and out since late last night sometime. Obviously they're having network issues.
finniksa
Yeah, I couldn't load the wiki or the forums 12 hours ago, seems to still be down. unsure.gif
Dark0ne

Tommy_H
Bethsoft is still down right now at 23:13 Central European Time (Berlin, Paris, Zurich...)

I just got word that Bethesda is shutting down all support for their games, canceling Fallout and closing their doors.

Ok, I'm just kidding. I have no idea what is going on with their site. I just know that I have not been able to access their site for about 12 hours now. Still inaccessible as of 11:00 CST

Probably network or server issues but one could only hope it's just maintenance and maybe even upgrades. biggrin.gif

Geez, but it is taking a long time now. It's now 7:30 Central European Time. Maybe it's due to their newly announced cooperation with Splash Damage. It did good damage then.... laugh.gif

Could this have something to do with the H1 datacenter that caught fire this past weekend? H1 is the datacenter that Zetaboards and InvisionFree have their servers tied into, and the datacenter has a domain server there on site that is down at the moment. Could this downed DNS server have something to do with Bethsoft being down?

Is Bethsoft telephone still working? Of course it's too early right now to call them in California...

Nah, they would have all gone down around the same time if that was the case. I suspect it would have more to do with Bethsoft's partnership with Spash Damage, and that's a real stretch.

Anyone considered DDoS? I'm not saying someone doesn't like Bethesda, but Beth may be hosted with some other firm?

BTW, if it had something to do with that datacenter, it'd be all down, not just fading in and out.

Actually, I'm betting on the datacenter. DNS has TimeToLive caching information, so after the authoritative (and secondaries) server went up in flames they would have faded in and out for a while depending on which DNS caches you hit that may or may not have had a cached copy of the last answer... but once the TTL is exceeded they will have been purged from all caches and they are now hard-down.

Seems like their site is working again (12:40 Central Europe)...

Seems they are all back up except BethBlog. Hope they haven't lost all that data or all of the interviews of our communities best and brightest will be gone. Damn... should have archived those pages when I had the chance.

It's back up as well, so you have a chance, if you like.
