About 5 months ago I had unwittingly created an offline version while it was under a strict no copy license. Now that it has been placed under a GNU I can freely copy and redistribute it as I see fit. I would be adding a lot of content such as all of the scripts from Oblivion and all 10 DLC's in html format as well as a full catalog of the tile sets. I would update it every so often and slowly make my way through all released mods cataloging their changes to oblivion .esm.

So please vote on whether or not you would like to see this done. If enough people say yes then I will make it a priorty to have it released by the end of the month.

I said yes, yet I have been to your site, and to say you are a busy man, would be a understatement.

Asking for help would be much more indicative of the level of public interest in this resource, (even if you intend on doing it by yourself in your own time anyway.)

Can you elaborate on this? Do you mean to add the text entry's of tile set pieces or the pictures as well?

I would be happy with just an offline listing of scripting functions (seperated by CS version/OBSE) and most of those generic "good to know" pages which tell you what all those little settings are (like packages, NPC/creature flags, and similar stuff). A seperate listing of tilesets, or a database of scripts, while useful, might complicate an otherwise great idea.

That's a good point Vagrant and it leads me to believe it would be in everyone's interest if I were to modulate the release as well as offering it in whole so that one could choose only the parts they need.

To answer your question Sandman, pictures as well. As far as the Wiki itself, I already have most of the work done, I would just need to update it to latest info and the initial release would have only the scripts as added content.

I was more concerned about the speed of release aspect... Seeing as how the wiki seems to currently be down, and has had its share of rough spots in the past only makes the need of something like this more apparent.

Well, if you think it prudent i could release my previous work, though it is 5 months out of date. Obse .13 had just been released.

That wouldn't impact me, or most people too much, for now, although there have been several new functions released since then, most of them are limited to more specific uses, and aren't applicable to most projects. It could only have the basic information and usage for all vanilla functions and still be incredibly useful to most. Afterall, unless I'm mistaken, those responsible for OBSE also describe their functions in another place, so it isn't as much of an "all the eggs in one basket" issue as everything else.

A beta on it's way up and if at least 30 people vote yes then I will devote a day or two to a large scale update. That is if Zenimax's server ever comes back up, for all we know the building that housed it has burned to the ground.

It would be extremely convenient if it were possible to easily update the content...such as taking the existing wiki code or resultant HTML code and place it directly into the applications database.

A way to allow people to "add" or "update" info in the app's database and then submit the changes to be incorporated into the primary download would be awesome. Or maybe have the app pull database changes from an internet-based server if ever online. Ok, I'll stop smoking the happy weed.

No, those are good suggestions and is the reason that I had planned on creating blank pages for all of the commands and Globals that had no info yet, that way all of the pages are linked and can be added a few at a time. When I reach 1.0 it will be fully capable of such smaller updates. I think i will look into making it database driven as well. More to come...

Well, I was thinking that this was a desktop "application" rather than being a collection of HTML files.

Still very helpful though.
