Hey I've been playing oblivion for a while now and have recently noticed when out questing with allied NPCS (through mods), enemy NPCs will always attack them rather than me. And once my allied NPCs are dead they turn their attention to me.

Is this normal?

Unfotunately.

This is due to how dispositons work within combat. Generally companions have lower personallity, and don't have boosts due to fame, so they often have lower dispositions toward them than the player. Additionally, allies tend to respond faster to combat, and by them targeting the attacker first, they end up more likely to get the attackers attention.

The best solution is to just console to adjust their personallity to 100, and to never raise yours past 80. Then you have a higher chance of things remaining hostile toward you. The same is true for horses.

Thanks for the advice. thumbsup.gif

I can go back to questing now.

Sorry for double post.

But I tried your method of making allied NPCs personality level higher than that of the PC's and still no luck. Even though the PC's personality is at 37 and the allied NPC at 100, enemy NPCs only target the allied NPCs rather than me. unsure.gif

Try increasing it further then, 200 personallity should be enough unless the NPC is in alot of factions which other NPCs hate. The other part could be that the ally is being the first to start combat, or is being seen first, which is a harder issue to fix. Atleast with the companion at a higher personallity, it should be easier to make the enemy attack you (by hitting them a few times).

Still no luck even if I set Allied NPC's personality to 200. The enemy still charges off towards the nearest allied npc.

After bit of testing, I tried wandering around alone in the forest to find some enemy bandits. The first thing they do when seeing me is run past me to find the nearest Imperial guardsmen. wallbash.gif

I don't know if its one of my mods which is causing this, because in the past I've never had this problem. As the enemies use to fight me and allied NPCs at the same time.

Hmm, might be a mod issue. Try finding some bandits which are nowhere near guards to see how far they run. Posting a list of mods might also help.
