Full Version: Need some help new pc not working!

Iv bought a new pc for a few days ago banana.gif

When i tryed to play a game exs: Oblivion it loaded then the pc locked! could hear the sound but the image was white

Enybody now what i could do?

iv updated the graphics card and mother board but no results! wallbash.gif

System Info:
Asus P5N-D, nForce-750i SLI, Socket-775,
Corsair Powersupply 750W Black, ATX/EPS,
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.67GHz
XFX GeForce 9800GTX 740M 512MB XXX GDDR3 sli
Crucial DDR2 PC6400 4096MB CL6,

i realy need some help so pleez reply thanks.gif

It sounds like Oblivion did not identify your graphics card properly. the 9800 series is new and you might have to do some changing.
Check in the options (when you first start the game from the CD, not the launcher) and see if it identified your Graphics board properly. if not, you may have to set it yourself. If the 9800 is not in the list, take the closest card available and try it.

Have you installed the latest Oblivion patch? It may add the 9800 to the list.

If this is a generic issue maybe you need to verify the DX installation, video drivers and even count with possible defective hardware
The symptoms points a problem that happens only when the rig goes to intensive 3D demands.
My advise is you running benchmark that stresses the CPU itself, RAM and video in order to try identifying the guilt.

If it happens in all games that points toward either a hardware problem or a driver problem. Check to be sure you downloaded the proper drivers for your board.
