Full Version: Black textures and Missing pieces

Here's what I mean:

1. The Blades and Imperial Watch Armor (Phillida, Audens, Palace Guards etc.) are colored black. Normal textures painted black, except for the Imperial Watch Gloves (Fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch) and I have no idea why.

2. In the females, I noticed when loading an old savegame, that some of the armor pieces are missing. The iron greaves show only 1 kneepad, some thigh armor but that's it. Tested on starting dungeon. I also noticed that with the Shrouded Armor but it was a different area that was missing.

BTW there are no exclamation points with a rectangle.

I think the black pieces are probably another variation on the missing texture that usually shows as purple. But, in your case it found a wrong texture to use. Try reinstalling the mod that these pieces came from. If it still happens, check for mod incompatibilities or load order.

As to the missing pieces of armor, if the mesh is missing, the part of the anatomy they cover should show up as transparent. - as in invisible legs. On greaves, both left & right are usually part f the same mesh and use the same textures. It should not be possible to have one on and one off unless it was made that way on purpose. (Half dressed?)

I think I found the culprit. The folder of the Imperial Watch armor only showed the texture files of the gauntlets. Also saw that in the Blades armor, only I saw the texture files of the helmets. Any workaround without reinstalling the game.

Legs aren't invisible. Maybe I was using male characters for a long time.

I'm having a similar issue with missing meshes, except I'm getting big yellow blobs, and when I load stuff up in TESCS it tells me that it "Can't load model" and points to something I don't have a mod for (no folder/files, no matching user name in any mod I've loaded). I was told I had a corrupted Oblivion-meshes.bsa file and that I had two options (one which didn't work for me, unfortunately).

1) Load a clean install to another computer and copy over the Oblivion-meshes.bsa (Don't load onto the same computer. I tried that, and even with admin privileges, Oblivion always wants to remove the old version. You'll need a second computer for this option.)

2) Reinstall.

Sorry about the gloominess. tongue.gif It's just what I've heard, so far.
