I know this is a texture problem or something, and not a mod(direct anyway) problem due to disabling all of my mods, is there anything I could try before reinstalling?

When did this start? did you install any new mods just prior?

If so, look in the unzipped file list for for those mods. Look for any .dds files. make sure they get put into the textures folder ( and any .nif files get put into the meshes folder)

The game looks for a mesh (.nif)to be in a certain place, then 2 texture files (.dds)for each mesh. if it cannot find the textures that are referenced in the right place (data\textures\modname ) it defaults to purple instead of crashing. Most mods use the mod name as the file under the textures to put the textures for that mod.

Sometimes a mod maker will use an existing mesh with a new texture so there won't be a new mesh to find.

Ok I fixed that by extracting the textures bsi file, but the books are still without texture(they're all the default pink thing)


Nevermind, when stuff don't work, try it again. ran the extraction again and that fixed it.
