i ahve been playing this game for the last few days, and it is pretty sweet

also, i got direct-x 10 to work on my windows xp, so it looks freakin amazing.

ahh, but the style of gameplay is much better than just plain old point and click. with like 3 little things they have made it much better than any other mmo i have ever played (and i have played most of them lol)

you have to actually fight in the combat, instead of click and walk away for 5 minutes. its pretty cool.

Went to the home page to check it out... and other review sites. Seems to look like a cross between Oblivion and the latest Total Wars, which is nice. It is said that it is still quite buggy. And that dl' ing dx10 can cause probs. You finding anything like that? Hooked up with anyone to make a party yet? Seems that in the harder levels you pretty well need to be in a party. And, are you a guy or a ( slather) babe with upper body gravity issues?

Judging from the PC Gamer, it's very, very bloody.

i hear from a few people that it is kinda buggy, but i have had no problems yet.
my version of dx10 works perfectly, but then again, it is on xp.
i am actually in a guild with my cousins and their friends, my old man also plays, so i have been in a few groups, but not very large ones.
i always play a dude i just wish other people would play their sex also hahaha. but i dont push people
yeah, it is quite bloody at times, others there is not much blood, and you can toggle mature content for the lil ones haha

I'm a little interested to hear what three features set this game apart from your run of the mill MMO.

Is Conan actually in the game? Is he invincible? Is he the king of Aquilonia? Is he with the cossacks? or is he still sailng the seas as the lion king "Amra"? Have you seen him or his enemies? like Toth amon? or Thundra thuu(cant be certain of the spelling lol sorry), or did you see the famous females like Valeria, Belit or Red Sonja?? Or Zenobia? maybe his son Conn??

Please tell me it, if the game contains some of the things I told earlier I will consider it buying...

Also is there Khtai? the lands of the east?

I am a huge fan of conan and I read a lot of comics and I was trying to find out the setting of the game... toth amon is the arch enemy of conan, they met many fierce battles and toth amon somehow survives every encounter

Thuu was the arch wizard of the mad king of Aquilonia, when conan toppled the mad king (cant remember his name) the evil arch wizard tried to get rid of conan but he ended up decapitated but he was a powerful mage so I kinda wondered if he is somehow in the game, conan is the king, then he is dead

Cossacks were the nomads that roam the lands and were raiding pillaging and stuff... Conan was the leader of them at the time
Conan was also a great pirate, and he was called the lion, amra in kush tounge...

Belit was the partner of conan back in the days of piracy but she ended up dead too , Valeria was conan s companion when he was a thief in zamora (I think cant be sure of the city ) but I know she is alive also helped conan to escape the tower of the mad king back then...

and you have heard right
doing away with one simple thing as autoattack, and adding defensive spots makes you actually have to pay attention to what the hell you are doing lol

i am a stygian herald of xotli, lvl 28. dps ftw! lol <--- omg im a nerd haha.

my only gripe with the game is that it is so easy to level up, and you cant get a mount until level 40. i do like the fact that large ammounts of money are a bitch to come by though.

Exactly what is a 'herald'? (Warrior, Mage, Necromancer, Thief?)

its like a mix between a heavy warrior, and a mage with all fire spells
cant wear heavy armor, but weild 2h weapons and can turn into a demon for a short period of time

Please, describe this 'demon mode' for me.....

Can you follow certain Gods like Set, Ibis, Crom, Mitra?

i think your char is pretty much agnostic in it at this point, i have not had the choice of which gods, but i guess it comes with which race, and class you pick, ya know?

the demon mode is a short buff that allows me to do a lot more fire damage, and physical damage. i also have a higher physical resistance, and there are all sorts of feats to make me even more pwnzor.

Anyhow, I hear that the game has special 'finishing moves' (with cinematics and X 2 EXP!) associated with weapons, class and race.
Ex.
Warriors with axes and swords get beheadments, while necromancers have a finishing move that burns their opponents alive, or even drags their souls back to hell in chains.

Do you know what your finishing move is?

all the different types of weapons do different fatalities. fire spells do the burn fatality, swords/axes do the choppy ones, and blunt weapons do the smashy fatalities. i can do fire, and sword fatalities, so i pwn i'll post a screenie soon, i havent been able to do anything because i have been doing extra packets because apparently i didnt have my diploma :/

evil... how easy is it to link up with companions/teammates? Is it all: text message, then follow instructions and meet up by that hollow tree in such and such? Or... what?

I also had two questions about the game. The first one is the same thing Chesto asked, and the second one is about the combat system. What's so special about the combat system? Is it like in The Witcher or something similar?

it is quite easy to group up with people. though, you have to be within a certain range to keep getting xp from what they kill, like most other games. all you have to do is /invite i think, but i have never been the one to start the groups, my cousin always does that haha i'll check it out when i get on next (it will be a few days, i have to finish my crap so i can get my diploma... speaking of which i shouldnt even be on here!)

i have never played the witcher, so i couldnt say if it was like it... but i can tell you it is different than any other game i have played.
the mobs have defensive spots that switch around, and you do more damage when you hit spots that are less defended you have 3 basic attack moves, then there are combos. you can attack left, right, and overhead. the shield markers could be like this:

basically, they can stack in any direction, up to 3 shields. you do more damage when you do the attack corresponding to the spot that has the least ammount of shields. when they have a shield on a spot, you will do about 15% less damage for the first shield, then like 35% for two shields, then about 85% less damage for all shields. so you can see why it is important to pay attention in this game
then you have combos, and they basically are your special attacks, but you have to do one or two moves before you can set off your special attacks. like say i wanted to do my pillars of fire (or whatever) spell, i'd have to attack up, then to the right, then my spell would charge and go off causing mass fire damage to the enemies (i cant tell if it is a cone shape in front of me, or if it is an aoe.) then you have most damage spells, which have a cone shaped damage radius, out to so many feet. some spells just damage the target as long as they are within so many feet, and only the target. some spells are AOE attacks. then you have knockbacks and all those special effects and whatnot.

it is simple, but complicated at the same time if you really think about it lol. i love it personally, it keeps me awake (unlike most other MMO's) at 6 AM because i actually have to pay attention to what im doing and i lose track of everything else hahaha.

So can you talk to other members in your party by typing text to them?

No, but I have played Guild Wars.

n00b zones consist primarily of 4 types of people:

n00bs

n00b helpers

people who deal high lvl stuff to n00bs
and

guild hirers

yeah, people are generally ok in there, but if you are on a pvp server like me, there are some jerks that get to the max lvl for the area, and attack noobs :/

dont worry about it though, everybody has to start somewhere

anybody, or evil... oh genius of all things Conan, ( serious ) thinking of playing, on European server, wish to meet up with buddies on US server, so will have to be on same server to play together...
On the Conan Forums... one thread talked about needing the name of the client server for which ever area you were planning to meet up on, and a 'key', also that there are 'Torrent' sites with current installer...
Know you anything about any of this... what is 'key' for instance? I know what the server names are, etc, though know nothing ( sic ). About Torrent sites. Any help, oh evil...
