Oblivion runs not bad except it now randomly crashes to desktop with a foul error "C++ runtime" error...i dunno is there anyway to fix it?

same with me except mine crashes on loading and says the program oblivion told C++ runtime to close it in an unexpected fashion. now i cant even play oblivion!

Posting the mods being used is for sure of greater help to everyone. MS is not known by being clear about what the errors are. There says the nature of the error, but nothing about 'what' is causing it.

This specific error shows a function call in a context where it's not valid, just it... no clues at all about what is driving it, not even what function is. Most commons causes are missing references, invalid references of any kind.

Editing: tracing errors in such situation is not trivial, it can be for deleting things the save game relies, it can be so many things that the better here is a new, clean install.

search for tutorials as to do this clean install since just uninstalling and reinstalling is not enough some times. bben46 have a good tuto about this, maybe he will see this post and direct you to it.
