been told on many occasion that some f00b by the name of creeper buys weapons for full price, which obviously seems a great deal due to some of the values of quest weapons etc. finally tracked him down and what do i get? a mere 5k gold limit and whenever i try to flog off a deadric weapon he whines "i cant afford that transaction". Has he got a subquest or something to enable him to cough up the top bangers?

He does indeed buy at full price, but 5K is all he has to barter with. You were told he buys at full price and he does, but he's not infinitely wealthy.
You can however, buy stuff off of him, thus increasing how much he has to barter with, THEN sell him your "big ticket" items... Then turn around and sell it all back to him after waiting 24 hours for his bank account to replenish.
And while I've never seen it, surely SOMEONE has created a mod that gives Creeper some insane amount of money to barter with.

The creators of said mods are idiots -- they do not realize that the item counts for all inventory transactions, including the addition of gold from a barter window, are registered as short values, meaning that the maximum amount of gold that can be added to the PCs inventory when exiting a transaction is something short of 35 000, rendering their eons of subtle and sophisticated work in giving some random entity 999 999 999 999 999 999 gold to barter with completely useless.

very true, i saw a mod on this site i think, gives the creeper 200k, a complete joke, i try to sell him some glass stuff i racked from ghostgate, after the first item i sold *armor* he turns into any normal NPC, no longer buys at full price and sells over price, stupid idea those mods out, and its a good thing you get ripped off at 35k, obviously, bethesda were aware some idiot would make a crap mod you could make in 10 seconds changing the amount of money he has for cheating purposes.
although, there is one fair money mod, its called Momoney, it gives the NPC's just a few hundred to 2x the amount of gold they carry, and no, it does not add to the creeper or talking mudcrab.

I've used Momoney before, and it doesn't increase many people's money very much. It's definitely not something you should use if you want to sell 9000 worth of stuff to anyone. If you just want to add a little extra cash to the game, it's worth it.

There is a way of getting full value from creeper even with his 5k limit.
1) first sell some cheep items to him for full value (5k items work best).
2) sell an expensive item to him and when the sell value goes above 5k swotch to the buy menue.
3) select as many items as you nees to lower the sell amount to 5k and accept the trade.
4) Wait for 24 hours
5) sell the cheeper items back to creeper for full value.
6) repeate if necessary if items that you got are more than 5k
This way with no mods or any thing for that matter you get everything at their full value.

Contrary to popular opinion, Duragon (which in this case, you think is yours...), nobody can get above 10,000 gold for base funds without MODs. What they meant by "Creeper buys everything full price" is that if something's worth, say, 3,500, and is in mint condition, he will give you 3,500 gold for it. I odn't mean to sound rude, but I can't stand people are oblivious to the totally obvious.

I think this may have been discussed out. In fact once past the start of the game you can accumulate so much money so quickly there really isn't the need to get full price for everything. As long as you keep the Mercantile skill low you will get a high percentage return with traders who like you. The only real use for large sums of money IMO is for constant enchantments. Most armour types and weapons are found, or rewarded for completing quests. Most training can be done as you go along (or can be left until you have more money than you know what to do with.) Unless the accumulation of capital is part of your enjoyment of the game I wouldn't worry about the money so much.

Oh, indeed. I find that a lot of people, such as myself, accumulate money as far too much of an objective -- however, recently, I have turned to hoarding my possessions as if they had some sort of special life-giving qualities. That, or, I just like the idea of the entire inventory of two or three bookstores placed upright at strategically chosen locations in my Private Mobile base, perhaps framing my precious relics, artifacts, and weapons collections.

A simple solution would probably be to forget creeper and, with a mod, put a huge stash of money in the game that you can go and pick up. I'm new to modding, but this sounds logical to me . . . And it's too confusing to do that selling stuff and buying back stuff and all that junk.

confuseing or not, its more ballanced than rewarding yourself for nothing. you actually have to GIVE UP some of your items that you risked your life to get for that money.

True. The stuff I've modded so far are weapons and armor with incredibly high attack and defense ratings, respectively. But it's sort of pointless to play when you're basically invincible.

So I see what you mean, Breton.

There are a couple of threads on the mudcrab, one recent. Check out what the search button throws up to give the exact location. He's not so wonderful though. He buys fewer items than the creeper and is in an awkward place to get to (quickest without Mark is via Telasero Propylon chamber) and he only has 10,000. As I said earlier, make do with less than 100% sometimes, if you have the official plug-ins, the arrow seller in Vivec has 8000 gold and the shops in Mournhold Great Bazaar also have a fair amount. (Can't recall exactly). So what if you sell ten ebony shortswords at 5000 instead of 10000 each? You really will have far too much money later in the game. In my most recent I have over 800,000 and no reason to use it. (No cheats or mods just found loot and weapons from the daedra). I almost want too see how much I can get. Ain't it a pity that you can't get robbed in MW? That would add a whole new dimension to money management.
