The Snow Arena.
You've noticed the heading. You may, even, have visited just for a look see. But have you ever stopped long enough to help the poor benighted inmates of that fell place? Have you ever donated even a word? I don't think so.
What has stopped you? Why have you shied away at the last moment, even if slightly tempted to contribute?
Is it the sheer banality of the Anarchy of Murder, Mayhem and Occasional Threatened Picnic which puts you off? Can you not bear the sight, and sound, of your fellow Nexites making fools of themselves? Can you not stand the abject silly-ness of the whole thing? The utter uselessness of the endeavors enacted therein, where not even your post is counted, thus rendering you incapable of attaining the heights of... post counts?
... or are you just scared?! NYAAAAAAHHHHH. BUGGA BUGGA.
That's it, isn't it. No bottle! Cojones, nix. Nicht verstenen! MOCKBA.
Well. Get over yourselves.
I've read your posts on various and sundry topics. You can string two words together... even one at a pinch. You have occasional wit and articulatory expellations. You can afford to donate a bit of your self respect to a good cause. You can take a bit of blood and gore, even if it's your own. Who knows... you may even surprise yourself by finding that you have a flare for hapless endeavors, weird musings, wild fantasies , improbable weaponry, or, even worse, none of the above. And you might even have a laugh in trying to untangle the wholly mess that is ... the Snow Arena.
So. Right now. Get over there. Post something. Anything. You may be laughed at. You may be laughed with.
But it will be your own thing. No one can take it away from you. ( though everybody will try .... shhhh, it's just a nightmare, dear. Lay off the cheese at bed time from now on.)
The Snow Arena. Use it . Or ... 'the other thing', to quote the late great satyricistic JFK.

Patience, Grasshopper...uh...Wolfie. You must explore the hidden meanings hidden within the esoteric, let alone, somewhat eccentric deathandsyntaxes for therein lie the seeds of your doom, not to mention my own should I, for one moment, relax my eternal vigilance vis a vis the aforementioned hidden... uh... stuff. And thing. Look you.

Seriously. One of the first things they teach you in improvised comedy and brainstorming is to never shoot down other peoples ideas, even if they're excessively stupid.

And you are aware, are you not, that this isn't a private conversation we're having here? Just thought I'd remind you in case that little fact had slipped your mind.

Three times I put you well amidst a bunch of summoned foes, have you at least tried to make your way out so to perpetrate your hated vengeance?... no, you were just blindfolded at the idea of "killing me". All the times I was sending 'subliminal' messages that could be translated to... Use it... a rich material to develop ideas.
I could yet understand you taking the things as personal, what amazed me at a point I never experimented before was with what you was willing to gave up to accomplish that 'vengeance'.
You aren't being fair stating this you said above, Marcus. If not for another reason, at no moment I just 'kill' you.

You do yourself, and the inmates of the Snow Arena, a huge disservice, doom. We're, all of us over there, merely grist to the wheel of entertainment(?). Anything goes... and usually does.
You, single handed, doom, could contribute to raising the tone of the whole place. Dog knows it needs it.
To paraphrase that seminal film ' Shane ' : doom ! Come back doom ! doooooom...!
And you two... Marcus and Nosisab. Take it back to the Snow Arena where it belongs. Where do you think you are, here, a Mel Brooks Movie ??!!! I'm Dom Deluise and you are the drunken fighting cowboys. Kick turn turn turn YOUR asses
BETTER STILL: start your own thread, in which you can discuss, to your hearts content, the 'Rules' and deeper philosophical/psychological issues pertaining to the Snow Arena !
( nice boys, really. probably just a case of having been weaned too early when they were pups. )

ERM - and the point of this discussion is?
Anything goes in the snow arena. You cannot be killed whatever anyone says and you cannot kill anyone. That is the underlying insanity of the whole thing. There seem to be many here who, like myself, prefer the terrifying uncertainty of zaniness to the boring routine of normality. But I am not sure they are being true to their supposed beliefs. Use your warped (I hope) imagination. If you object to someone's post tell 'em they a) dreamed it b) mistook the location c) was in a parallel multiverse d) was in the wrong space-tine continuum e) had the whole thing reversed by a miscast from Hogwarts g) was wearing the wrong socks h)... Oh, never mind.

The point is I can't take seriously someone loathing I "kill ideas" for don't allowing him 'kill me and the mines' or the avatars of us, that is somewhat the same.
Don't saying entire solar systems and the universe itself
The point is not in the trying to do things, it is there is a price for the things we do.
PS: And this price should be good laughs and trying again

Boys...boys...
lets just do what we always do and if someone hits the shiny red button of doom make it that a big sign that says "BANG" comes out in the sky like in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
I understand what Nosisab is saying but I think we can all play nice. Besides I am the Goddess and Queen and Chesto has enough originality for all of us.
Now just type before I have to open up a can of whoop butt on ya' all!

My thought:
If I am in the Snow Arena, and hit nosisab (first name that came to mind) on the head with a rock, nosisab is allowed to say that he survived long enough to hit me in the head with a bigger rock several times. He is not allowed to say I missed. I feel that that was happening in the Snow Arena, but perhaps I just misinterpreted something.

Let's hear it for Enlightenment!
Marcus Wolfe
May 20 2008, 07:05 PM
Definitely complete silence with the exception of the sound created by moving your hand through the air rapidly. I know this because I just spent 10 seconds figuring that out.

Yes, the nursery slopes...where you can't find Irony Man.
Irony Man- a superhero with no superpowers other than to cause extremely ironic things to happen!

If Dr.Cancer tries to find a way to give everyone cancer, Irony Man will cause him to find the cure for cancer.

I'm very pleased with the snow arena is turning... no, returning, better saying.
Lisnpuppy with her fine humor, I couldn't help myself from laugh and LOL with her description of landing as a raven, and so
- I meant do do that

Chesto and his more mad-one old one I ever saw, and picturing scenes with strong and yet balanced irony, sarcasm and criticism and a big deal of surrealism.
Evilkoal is turning to be a real 'concern' to me while 'player character' there too

Indeed I'm pleased with all, even the brawns and "mindless going to all and final" participations are getting better control. And no Arena that prizes itself could go without some 'carnificine'.
There are plots being built, posts I would enjoy reading even if not actively participating and think is and will be for many other people too.
Niemzovitch, a chess grand master of a near past coined several quotes that persevered and gained scope beyond chess itself. One of then being the famous and never refuted:
- The threat is stronger than its execution.
As the threat will build the story, one will care his defenses and think counter-attacks and even being bait at attacking, and will do for it, conscientiously or not.
If great grand old one Gary Gigax is seeing us, I hope he is pleased with.

I'm posting again to say that the lag is turning the only real plot breaker or at least hampering one. And to extend the compliment to all arena participants. Taking a jet to Japan in hope fleeing monster was a very good allusion

The might carnuck will become really fearful and dreadful when caught by the roleplaying spirit.
As said before. Things will heat around there
