I chose the smith, but after thinking about it, it would be a much better choice to go with the outpost, because i usually rush things i never got to see (or save) what the outpost had to offer so can some peeps tell me what the outpost has?
btw, the smith is great! the lady smith has a whopping 10,000 gold so am happy about that, and a very nice shield for sale. thanks for help

oh, do the mods around here love to spam "now we can close this" just to get another post? makes more sense just to lock old posts instead of telling everyone

Except then that doesn't make it clear why the post was locked (or even that it is supposed to be locked). Besides, who cares about post count anyway?

well give us some details!
how much gold does the shop owner have? and what special items?
The only good thing about the smith is the 10k gold, the items are on par with anything else on the main island, nothing special apart from the "saints shield" which isnt that good anyway lol. The smith doesnt even sell arrows! and the place is a hunters paradice :'(

well, as i recall, the shop owner has all sorts of things, and about 8k gold i think, although i dont remember specifically. plus, you can get arrows from fort frostmoth i think. i dunno, cause i dont use ranged weapons. plus, the shopkeeper has potions, which come in handy with all the island's beasties.

The shopkeeper, like the smith has 10,000 drakes for bartering. He also has the Weathered Note that tells of the suicide of some man. It's only found in one other place in the whole game- in a bottle in the waters of Sheogorad.
The smith has mostly generic items.

I would say Smith for the sole purpose of a handy place to have your weapons repaired.
Especially since the infestation of Solstheim by really mean creatures

the smartest thing to do would be saving before making a choice, look at them both, and continue with the one you like the most, this would have saved you alot of time.

well, since you can repear your items at Fort Frostmoth it is a little more handy to get a shopkeeper, even though he wont buy weapons and armor from you. your not gonna get that much repearables in solsthiem any way.

take your own repair tools, so much easy. The cost of having good weapons repaired by a smith are crazy! the crsymere (typo) sword is a good example.

Actually, being a Thief character, with lots of heavy stuff alredy, and muy mucho gold, its better just to pay the somewhere-around-200 drakes for a repair. that money could be used better, though. now then, the most important question, is the smithy alert, with minimal storage for goods? because i might steal from him, if he isnt looking, and the outpost has lots of rooms where he cant see.

Smith is da best

. He actally DOES sell arrows and bolts. Veeeeery handy =D. Repairing isn't really necessary...and if you can buy arrows from two places in the island, it makes hunting more convenient.
