Let's keep this civil, people, please. This is the 'what I like' topic, after all. I'd like it to remain civil!
AS (moderator)I agree. Yet I don't see how what I said was in any way uncivil or uncalled for. I'm letting it die, but still.

QUOTE(toan450 @ Aug 8 2008, 11:34 AM)

I found Blacksnake's story to be very well written and it generally made me feel good. Kudos to you, sir.
It was actually inspirational enough to make me post on this thread again, after my long break of about...2 hours? Maybe? Ah well.
I too have some experience with those "almost super model hot but extremely high maintenance girls that are really bitchy". God how I hate them now. I, foolishly, found myself quite interested in one who I didn't know too well. She seemed pretty smart and decently nice...but jeez, bad decision there. It never went anywhere, which was frustrating as hell, but I guess it's a blessing because eventually she just started being totally self-centered and stopped (did she ever start?) regarding me as a person, and just as a living tech support phone line, only without the phone. I feel totally stupid for ever being interested in her, and when I consider how much time I wasted on this conceited little witch, I get filled with rage.
The stupid thing is, this happened less than a year after I stopped liking a proper girl (I was a bit too young then) who was genuinely kind, incredibly smart, and funny as all heck. Luckily we stayed friends (though a bit distant), but I am now just the teeniest bit confused about the whole thing because we started talking again and I remember why I liked her in the first place. Ah well, such is life.
Since this post didn't contain I like, here: I like getting this off my chest. I feel much better now. I think I'll post things more like this from now on.
I know half the people here didn't read this, or didn't care, but if you did, thanks.
Oh, and Blacksnake: congratz man! I believe you may have found the holy grail. Just don't lose it.
Well looks like I help someone learn a life lesson...or maybe helped them remember that life lesson and yes talking about things helps. I love the internet
you can go and talk about your feeling to complete strangers but remain completely anon. Funny you say it was well written cause I haven't sleeped in 3 days now. Hmm found the holy grail....should I show it to Monty Python??
Edit: I swear I'm going to lose all faith in humanity at the first person who doesn't understand that joke.

I'm not "goading" you. It's not my fault if you took it as a personal attack. I'm not sure as to why you would, as I gave you no reason to.
Why not? I'm not offended if someone mentions all the thousand of americans killed by extremist muslims. I don't understand why you get up in arms just becase I asked a question. If you don't want to answer my quesion, that's fine, but don't make me out to be a "bad guy ".

I like that I'm introduced like that. But there's so many other things I like... I guess I have no choice but to start listing.
I like Heath Ledger ans the Joker and I like Christian Bale as Batman. It. Just. Works.
I like flossing! I don't know why! I just do!
I like that, when you think about it, "The Grand Canyon" is a really unoriginal name.
I like being the only one in a room laughing my arse off.
I also like it when others join in.
I like it when people have terrible vacations, because terrible vacations make for great stories.
I like to collect random machine parts that I find near railroad tracks. If I keep collecting the way I do, I'll probably have enough to build my own train soon.
I like turn-of-the-century clothing.
I love really old movies. On a related note, I love hilariously bad movies.
I like that my sleep schedule has dissolved into a 6-hours-awake/6-hours-asleep sort of deal.
I like bizarre foreign music.
I like bizarre foreign anything, actually.
I like that, in some parts of the forums, I'm something of a bogey-man.
I like Kafka. I think he's really funny.
I like Dostoyevsky. I think it's funny how irredeemably depressing he is.
The same goes for Tom Waits.
And I like that the drawn-out drama in this thread is finally coming to a close, so that I can post things like this. Thanks.

I like that an Irish household, once me Grans got me, that is.. instilled all the same things mentioned by Dez that I value also..Da nurtured the warrior, Grans nurtured the Sidhe..Probably why I always like to play as a Custom BattleMage in Oblivion..
However Grans always says it was the Sidhe in me, that finds it hard to back down from a challenge..
I like that Dez has far more calm then I do, Its a really one of my biggest challenges, coming from West Cork..We Irish don't back down easily, especially female red haired Irish fireballs..like meself..especially when its a matter of principle..or something that we believe in strongly..When a girl is born with red hair, there is a saying, ah dear another warrior has entered the world..saints perserve us..lol
An aye the good education does help, but I learnt more from me Grans then any University ever taught me..Grans, and nature, and the Sidhe when they'd show themselves that is..
I like the Sidhe, learning from them was intersesting times..to say the least..it still is...
I love that parts of Eire like here in the bogs of West Cork, magick is still very much alive, and so are the Sidhe..
I like the Owl, now she was a very difficult teacher..her lessons and tests were not easy ones..but I owe any wisdom I have to that gift of me Grans..
Which I wholeheartedly love and will always be grateful for..

I like a good double-shot of Red Breast, neat. (I don't like that it's near-impossible to find in the US... all we can usually get is Jamieson's, Bushmill's, or Tullamore Dew).
I like that I was offline whilst all the drama was going on, and can resume talking about things I like without stepping on anyone's toes.
I like being here... it's almost like how my family used to argue over the dinner-table.
Only without getting pegged in the noggin by a thrown dinner-roll.
