Cara , dear, and with the greatest affection and respect, stick to the ancient area that was modern Essex. Boudica is your specialty.
The Scots you were trying to decipher, womanfully, was my very bad rendition of the dialect found around the Moray firth, where they speak Doric, one of the Scots Gallic dialects. Though you cannot be wholly blamed because i did tend to range thro most of the dialects of Scotland, and Mel Gibson, I not being a native speaker, though did have a go at learning the Doric when i lived there.
Aren't you glad you asked?! I shall attempt to speak decipherable English, hereonin. or hippy.

...heh...I do things that when a topic strays for more than a few comments, since I like doing that.

"Feh" is better in person since it's a sound and expression thing denoting amusement and/or disbelief.
Ehh, it's sort of a trademark for me, as is a "?" a space after the question. It just makes it a bit more difficult for people to forge my comments.... (...OK, this is where *you* say "feh"....)

'Feh'... i do so hope that's right. It is so easy to get the nuance of these things wrong, leading to all KINDs of misunderstandings.

ok...this isnt the place but...
socksftw first promised me something, post 38, p.4, then again on p.5, post 47 to which i replied, and accepted in post 50: Free love and Woo.
Now ... i took this as a sort of contract when i replied in the affirmative, in my post 50. Ok... i have lived long enough... i know there is no such thing as Free Love... we'll just let that slide but...

I have been waiting on the corner, since post 50, in all my hippy gear, gettin abuse from the driveby's, forced to wear a kilt, by Cara, tho it's quite a psychodelic number it isnt quite my colour, but i can live with it, and im still waiting for the VW multicoloured bus with all the tiedyed freaks inside, and the smoke billowing out when they open that side door...

And still no WOO! I have yet to lose any illusions about WOO. So, where is my WOO, Socks? This is not right. THIS WILL NOT STAND !

STOP BOGARTING THE WOO, Socks!

I like the fact that , though my son is sitting his final A level exams, in prep for the big U, he still has a reservoir of humour that allows him to express the anxiety he is undergoing in ways that reduce me to fits of tearful hysteria, and him too. It could all be so awful if the tension was expressed mean spiritedly or in bad temper. I like my son. That's my boy! Queue up , ladies. I will be selling to the highest bidder.

...also...i WOULD like to know what is in the water that every one else seems to be drinking on this thread...

just saw Carah's post... my mother told me never to get into strange Golfs, of any colour ... with strange women. And how do you ever get into a Golf with THAT headgear? Unfortunately... i have always followed my mother's advice. And fyi, C, Ive got on dual sporrans... so the wind will be no problem...unless one of them should spring a leak. Hey, not bad for your first "feh". You will find that the more you "feh", the easier and more fun it is to "feh". You can surprise people with how well you can "feh". I know, because I been "Feh"ing a long time now. And, as you get better at it, you'll find it's fun to "feh" in public places.

Your " ' " is perfectly acceptable since it's the UK way. Have some books that were printed there.

Firstly, I would like to thank Mos for praising my first attempt at ''Feh'. I like that in a fellow suffe... poster. And I like to think that I have now got the hang of 'Feh''.
Nextly, I could caution Mos about his overenthusiasm for the wearing of the kilt. You might just get away with wearing two, though the clash of patterns will cause epileptic attacks in those prone to them. Try wearing four and, while you may be wind proof, the only woman you will be able to...do what ever it is etc, will have to have a semi. Try lifting one of those suckers. Four? No Mos.
And C., further to the Primavera hysteria rampant in this thread, here's one, and apologies to actual sufferers of the other, more common, form of this ailment: Polite Tourrettes....think about it.

In a few weeks, you'll be ready for "advanced 'feh' training", when I teach you the nuances of using 'feh' to denote disgust. That takes a bit of squinting of the eyes and a curl of the lip. Caution ! Do not attempt it your first time when you are alone. There are hazards involved to the novice 'feh' user. Any injuries you inflict to yourself without proper training, I shall not be held responsible for.

As per kilts, we are talking about the great kilt, are we not ? Worn the great kilt and the newer type that reminds me of a prep girl school uniform.

It was mentioned in a remark to Chesto, earlier in the thread.

"Feh" is a sound and expression thing denoting amusement and/or disbelief.

And it can be used privately or in public, to members of all sexes and ages.
Best of all, it translates well into many languages, even West Virginian, Canadian, Spanish, Ruskie....in fact the list is endless ! I like that in a word.

Och, now I know....not long ago I mentioned Gemini things to the four airts, so that may be it. If ye have the sight, I cannea feel it from you.
Most moderns think of the kilt that was brought out in 1730, the one often worn in dress occations nowdays, the unwashed heathens to consider it a kilt. Now ye ken why I call it a prepschool skirt.....
The WOO was offered by somebody else. Wasn't me. Faer oot un gruvey....

I like the 'real ' kilts, the great kilts, tho how the auld crofters managed the time to weave all that woolen plaid, while at the same time wage sheep stealing war on each other, is beyond me.

Sorry Mos...about including my WOO plea in a post directed at you. I know it's that other guy/gal who is holding out. But... as much fun as it is rodding around with Carah at the wheel - she uses those horns on her helmet to signal turns, ya know - I was only ever here to get my bit of WOO. ...and as to how I knew when, approx, your birthday...well... with Carah it's Mos this, and Mos that... what am I, balast?
...damn, woman! You'll have my eye out if you keep making those quick turns! Give me some notice, dagnabbit! ...and i'm feeling car sick...

Och, pay no heed to carah's ramblin' about me. I'm a fine specimen of a man and she well knows it because I told her so. And being the proper woman she is, she went with what she was told.....
**I like** a woman like that. Them horns for signaling ? I figured they was for hanging on while....jeez, I can't say *that* here. ....heh...y'all ken.....

And a thanks to bsandman_2 for the birthday wishes.

... you mean... those horns came with more options? Why was I not told this? Ah me. A life blighted by yet more missed opportunities...

I like horns with options. Once upon a time... I used just to like reading books...

FEH?!.... <furrowing brow, and lip curling> ....seeing that it is your day today, and I have a weakness for Gemini's. I shall spare you from my horns and spear, but my twins (Lisn) spear is sharper than mine, and I can't spare you from hers. Yes, I do admitt you can pull the woolen kilt over my eyes, but only because I let you. I may be totally crushing you, but don't fan that fire too hard you can get burned.

I like cocky Gemini', that live in Colorado, that carry guns, and drives a black jeep.

Har, har laugh.gif
...and Chesto...don't make me come over there! < wagging finger>
...jeepers!... like a bunch of feakin' kids!
