Read title.

Age of Mythology II
No joke. We had a whole topic about this one. Link

Age of Empires IV
Now, I know they just came out with Age of Empires III The Asian Dynasties Expansion pack, but I think it's the last expansion pack they're coming out with, and in all of the RTS I have played, I have not yet fought on Australian soil. I figure that in the next one they're going to make, there will be nowhere in the world you can't fight.

TESV
Do I have to say more? No, no I don't.

God of War III
I know they're goign to make another one, great things almost always come in threes!

WOW II

There are 5 games that stand out to me as needing sequels.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
Beyond Good & Evil
Psychonauts
Advent Rising

Yes not all of these are pc games but, i just went ahead and listed those that stood out smile.gif
Marcus Wolfe
Advent Rising?

Never got past the crazy bald goddess god on that game.

Advent Rising is something I think should be 'reimagined'. It has basically the worst plot ever, but some of the gameplay features were nice. It doesn't need a sequel, it needs to have it's gameplay put in another game with good plot and graphics.

Then again, who knows? Perhaps an Advent Rising sequel would be awesome.

Another thought:

How many sequels can a game have before you're basically playing the same game over and over again?

3 is the absolute maximum for sequels of anything. Movies, Games whatever.. After that its just going to get boring and let you down.

As for advent rising, bald goddess? lol you sure you got the right game man smile.gif

Advent Rising was an awesome game imho, im actually friends with one of the guys who did alot of the cenimatic work.

Mostly true unless we're talking books. Series literature can go for a long time.

My sequels:

-Planescape: Torment- or anything that makes use of the Planescape setting really
-Xenogears- Xenosaga didn't count since it was created by different developers
-Vagrant Story-
-Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance- pretty bad, but the ridiculous plot screams for more. they went from beholders to vampires to pharohs... we need more if only for the sake of comedy!
-Baldur's Gate series- this CRPG was great, could use some revitalization

I could go for another Warcraft as long as they reverted back to strategy.

...

YEAH!

I'd like to see another Neverwinter Nights (as long as BioWare makes it and not the terrible Obsidian). Icewind Dale III would be another game I'd want to play (I won't play it if they still have 3rd Edition rules, though; they need to update to 3.5). Baldur's Gate III would be sweet, too (again, 3.5 is needed. I'm not sure if Baldur's Gate has 1st Edition or 2nd Edition rules, but 3.5 is much better).

As for games that are coming out, and actually have more than a snowball's chance in hell of being made, the only sequel I'm looking forward to (aside from the obvious TES V), is Soul Calibur IV. I'm totally going to own everyone with Vader! devil.gif

Edit:

Keen eye you've got.

Yes, something's wrong with that. I'd hoped Namco could continue this great series without adding more licensed characters. III seemed to make some progress with 3 new original characters, but perhaps it didn't sell well enough to keep up the trend. Now we get Star Wars crossing into the latest sequel to boost profits. It's a new low.

Why not just throw Lara Croft, Superman, and Harry Potter into the mix. confused.gif

Well, Laura Croft has guns, not swords, [pre-Crisis] Superman is almost invincible (though, post-Crisis Superman is still pretty good), and Harry Potter just sucks.
freddycashmercury
I'd suggest a Shoggoth, but that wouldn't be feasible either.

I'd like to see another Mortal Kombat. Yeah, I know. Kind of overdone, but I like them.

EDIT: Oops. MK isn't Pc. Nevermind. I'd like to see another.... Halo. Hahahahaha.

Actually, they made a Devil May Cry 4 and it was supposedly awesome. 3 is more the average (mode, median?) of the maximum amount of sequels you can have.

Just look at Mario.

What definition of 'awesome' are you going by? Yahzee's definition says the game sucks.

Mario? Your point is...? Nintendo is...special. If you've ever paid attention to their games, you'll see that they're all the same. Only Nintendo can do this; only Nintendo can release the same game over, and over, and over. Their fan base is more devoted to them than the Crusaders were to the Pope. Seriously, Mario is more popular than God. Because of this, Nintendo gets away with releasing the exact same games over and over. Mario is the worst example ever of a game remaining fresh.

@ freddy: Yes, a shoggoth would be bad in Soul Calibur. Mainly, because one of them is nearly impossible to kill. Only complete immolation would work. Even then, it might not completely die. Now Pyramid Head would be a great addition to Soul Calibur! biggrin.gif
Marcus Wolfe
Maybe he was just not so good at the game. Judging from Devil May Cry 3, 'hard' mode is next to impossible, and not everybody may be good at Devil May Cry. Of course, this will be a stupid argument until at least one of us actually plays this game. ARGUMENT ENDED.

You were right about Mario: it is basically the same game over and over. Same can be said about Sonic.

In order to ensure a successful sequel, you must keep everything good from the first game, but discard everything that sucked (one exception to this may be fighter games, where it is a good idea to constantly add to the rooster of Playable Characters, but never to remove any). It is also a good idea to add new features and options. Graphic improvements are a must.

I dunno about that, Street Fighter III was excellent despite the removal of nearly all past characters. But I guess you'll always have players clinging to the past and unwilling to change.

Lol at the "rooster of playable characters"; it made me think of Oliems from Tobal No. 1.

Portal 2
TES V (note: sorry, portal is more important to me sad.gif )
Crysis 2
a NFS that DOESN'T suck
AOE 4

..that's my list, again, i am sorry for wanting Portal 2 more than the next Elder Scrolls.
i will now run away before you can get your swords.

I'de like to see a new Deus Ex. The second one was sacrelege(sp?) and the name needs to be redeemed. I'de also like to see a new Empire at War RTS that featured more factions from the extended story lore.

Actually....(blasphemous comment censored-READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)I've never played any of the Duke Nukem titles.
Wrath_Of_Deadguy01
My wanted list:

System Shock 3 (yeah, right)
Bioshock 2 (more likely, but not yet announced)
Starsiege 2 (not ever happening after 2845 died)
Mechwarrior 5
Mechcommander 3
SiN Episode 2 (was planned, currently vaporware)
Nexus 2 (cancelware, IIRC)
Duke Nukem Forever
Knights of the Old Republic III (one of the few truly exceptional franchise games; deserves a next-gen sequel)
TES V
Portal 2
HL: Opposing Force 2 (Shepard's story isn't resolved yet...)

The special "It's actually happening and I'm overjoyed" list:

Fallout 3
GTA IV
Mercenaries 2
Prey 2
Mass Effect 2 (no way it's not after how well the first one sold)
Starcraft 2
OnyxNightBlack
Some of my favorites for such a list were already mentioned (Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, KOTR). Some that were not mentioned yet:

- The Witcher II
- Vampire: Bloodlines II (or any other game using the Vampire: TM or Werewolf: TA franchise)
- Disciples III (does anyone besides me even know the first two parts of that?)

Dungeon Keeper 3 comes instantly to mind. Dungeon Keeper 2 was so much fun. I would also love to see another Rock 'N Roll Racing. I'm sure not many here have ever heard of such a game, but it was probably the most entertaining racing game for SNES (yes, better than Mario Kart). Ahh... I do miss those days. There are others, but at the moment the titles escape me. I'll have to wait until I get home to rummage through all of my games.

If you have a DS, Portrait of Ruin is pretty good, even though it's a side scroller. Unfortunately, the plot does leave something to be desired. But the gameplay was pretty fun and I enjoyed.

And I am also waiting for Fable 2 with anticipation. Hopefully it's much longer this time.

It's gotta be this:
Crysis 2 (Announced)
Empire Total War (Announced)
Bioshock 2 (Announced)
Portal 2 (Kinda Announced: VALVe said there would be more Portal, but that could just be downloadable content)
DOW 2 (Announced)
Resident Evil 5 (Announced)
TES 5
HL3 (After Episode 3 that is)
Jedi Academy 2
Phoenix Wright 4 (I know, Phoenix has been replaced by Apollo Justice)
Assassins Creed 2 (JUst make it a bit less repititve next time)

I'd also like to see a game similair to the original Star Trek Armada, (where you could teleport men on an enemy ship and take it over), Fable 2 for the PC, a new Caeser game (CAeser 4 was rubbish beacuse of this new class system in it that I hate and makes it too complex), and a new Splinter Cell game that has similair HUD and controls to Chaos Theory, (quite frankly, while I like the double agent side to it, I hate Double Agents new HUD and control system).

I'd love to see another Jedi Academy. Funny thing is I enjoy the games more than any other aspect of the SW franchise, including the movies.

On a side note, I honestly didn't know so many actually enjoyed Fable.

PC gamer got a hands-on preview of Starcraft II this month, so we know for sure (almost) that we'l be getting that.

PC Gamer also published a very early preview of Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II. Judging from the demo I got once, and reviews of the expansion packs, the first one was very good. Aside from the almost mandatory need for graphic upgrades, the team at Relic plans to improve the game in 3 major ways:

1) To give the player more long term goals, they will remove most of the base building/resource collecting and provide you with a mobile base of operations known as a ‘Battle Barge’. A constant, changing piece of space will put under your guard. You go from planet to planet, deciding which distress calls to answer and in what order, if at all. This is supposed to provide a reason to fight for every bit of dirt.

2) RTS games lack a sense of attachment. Your units live about 30 seconds before they’re sent into the meat grinder and never seen again. To fix this, you will be controlling the same 5 or 6 squads throughout the game. Each squad has it’s own sergeant, and each sergeant has not only his own combat specialty, but each one gets a name, a face, and very distinct voice acting. It has not been mentioned what will happen when squad members die, but it has been confirmed that new squads can enter combat by drop pod launched from the Battle Barge.

3) To extend game play even further, Relic took notice that it takes about an hour to explore an army’s entire tech tree, and some players get bored after they know the entire tech tree. So, theoretically, a gamer could become bored of all the armies on the same day the game was purchased. Relic decided to fix this by throwing in an element of RPG. In the screen where you determine which mission you embark upon, you will see what ‘War Gear’ you will earn from going on this mission. Bonus War Gear can also be earned as loot from slaying your foes. War Gear includes (but is not necessarily limited to) Melee weapons (such as hammers and chain swords, and although axes, doom fists and claws were not mentioned, I personally hope they will be included) with various damage types (Ice, Fire, Acid, Electric, Etc.) guns (only Heavy Bolter Guns and Flamethrowers were mentioned, but hopefully anti-vehicle bazookas, sniper rifles and grenade launchers will be included) and extra heavy/badass armor. Grenades were not mentioned in any way, but I speculate that they may also be included as War Gear. All War Gear is equipped to the sergeant, but it makes the entire squad more powerful. (and yes, if I play this game, I will make one squad of dedicated arsonists) Later missions provide more powerful War Gear, producing the RPG effect: The more you’ve played, the more powerful your arsenal.

As well, gore graphics include ‘blood piñatas’ (yes, that’s actually what the guys at Relic call it). Physics will undergo a major upgrade, resulting in much better ‘robots throwing people around’.
But one of the biggest changes in the game will be the AI. Soldiers under fire, whether it be bullets or artillery rounds, will automatically run for cover. If a unit with a jet pack is standing on a bridge over a bottomless pit of death and aforementioned bridge of death, the unit will not fall into the bottomless pit of death, but instead automatically jetpack itself to safety. As one of the workers at Relic said (And I quote):
QUOTE
When we were developing Company of Heroes we had this mantra: No more toy soldiers. Dawn of War II is: no more toy Space Marines. These are real freakin’ Marines- they know how to react under pressure.

TESV
Do I have to say more? No, no I don't.

God of War III
I know they're goign to make another one, great things almost always come in threes!

WOW II

On second thought, no.

I agree completely. Age of Mythology is one of the best Strategy games (You can feel the Age of Empires engine in it, it feels like AoE2, but with mythological units and godsent powers).
And I was disappointed to see no sequel has been made up to now/

Age of Empires IV would be one amazing game. I wonder if they'll go into the WWI era (as their series has progressed from Ancient, to Medieval, to Colonial), or if they'll decide on something else.

You don't have to say anything more for TESV, I just hope they build it on a bigger area (maybe cover all the provinces, if not, a couple of them at a time. Seriously, SI didn't feel anything like the Morrowind expansions, because it was Short, easy, and small. In Tribunal and the other one (I like it, I'm just not sure how to spell it xD), you had a nice sizable amount of places to go, as well as real challenges.

GoWIII is definitely coming, I just hope they don't wear out the system. I never get tired of Kratos and how he leaves bloodied paths in his wake. Imagine him in Blue Ray or HD Dvd (for 360 users)... I'd like to see him on the PC personally!

As for WoWII... No, no, no, no, no. A Warcraft IV would be my preference (starting of from when 3 ended, as I feel WoW ruined the whole awesome experience I had from WC1-3).
macmert
Baldur's Gate... It is a must and it is a crime not doing a sequel, but the team from Black Isle should do it... or maybe Bethesda...
Planescape Torment... Yea it was an awesome game but kinda hard biggrin.gif again Black Isle rules...
Icewind Dale... Oh my God Black Isle yet again? biggrin.gif
Neverwinter Nights... Actually this would be the sequel to BG series but Black Isle did not continue the project... Instead of doing hundreds of xpansions to the game, they should make a new game...
Prince of Persia... on the way biggrin.gif
Assassins Creed... will come soon biggrin.gif
Football Manager...lol just joking will come around christmas...
Thief series... please please please someone hear me out and bring back garrett...

Hmmmm

We need:

Icewind Dale III

DOOM 4 (more demons less mutants, meaning that i want to see goatmen instead of DOOM 3's creatures) (look at DOOM 64 for the concept)

Duke Nukem Forever (might be cancelled)

A remake of Turok 2: Seeds of evil for the 360 (the game was incredible and still is, but I want to see a high-resolution version)

Killer Instinct (yes the classic fighting game)

Diddy Kong Racing II

Blood Omen IV

Rune: The Viking Warlord II

Thief IV (wee need it!!!)

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath 2

Of course put this all on the PC. Im still a big supporter of the computer.
