well I need to use a mod to get this level and here is my stats.
str 132
wis 120
int 115
speed 350
end 160
agl 120
pers 100
luck 120
Do you not use any unique item? you should have better stats if you are on level 217.
Or atleast i think so..

I do not cheat or use any mods all things that i have obtained were done lagitamately. My stats are only that hight from my personaly enchanted clothes with constant effects and due to other unique items. It cost me alot to make some of the things that i have in the game.

Damn, there seems to be one hell of a trend of surpassing the intended limit for character levels at the moment

Personally the highest level I've ever hit is level 75, just because I choose to play the game normally rather than use all these uncapping mods and tricks

Don't really see the need for a level 100+ character... I mean isn't the game easy enough already?

I got to level 56, but stopped there for two reasons.
One, it got way too easy to do everything. I had done most of the quests and misc. quests. Plus, I got into cheating toward my 30th level, and used the console to go everywhere, and my Strength was around 1000. It ruined the game.
Two, I had about 25 mods running at the time, and one or more corrupted my savegame. It ended up where people's dialogue had been removed from them, and they could not talk, and every spell I had ever cast was stuck, like an ability, on me.

Exactly, well said.
My character was/is level 74. All Maj/Min. maxed, therefore unless I spend heaps of time going to gaol...it ain't gonna get higher..

Well using the fortified item and the master trainer isn't exactly cheating IMO but I do agree it totally unbalances what is essentially a relatively easy game. Normally I stop at around level 50 but I have set a challenge to a couple of people that involves getting to 100. (It's a speed thing). In my current game I am updating my character list for the expansions and official plug-ins and therefore it is not a proper game as such so I have levelled up very fast, though without recourse to the glitch referred to above. For my purposes it helps not to be damaged too much when wandering about the countryside.

Level 41
I have about 190k, in case I want to insta-level up. Or buy a small kingdom.
The only mods I added were some merchants that actually have enough gold to be worth selling to. I don't consider it a cheat to think that there should be high-quality traders, who therefore have more gold on hand. Besides, we all know that gold is only really good for bribing people once you reach a certain level in the game. (Wink . Wink. Nudge. Nudge.)
I played both expansions first, starting with Bloodmoon. Level 35 I killed The Hunter. Level 39 I killed The Lady of Mercy. Is my character overpowering? Heck no! I just happen to be bloody good when it comes to tactics. Sure, go around and bash or blast whatever you want to little bits. Spend all that time and energy. Or, you can play like me, and use the proper tool for the job. Want to kill a werewolf? Use silver. Want to defeat a wizard? Use reflect/absorb/ and silence. Want to kill a god? Be prepared for anything. On another thread a guy said that his character was the most powerful because all his armor had constant restore health. Poor sap. He'd be pretty surprised if he got hit with Damage Health. Over confidence is a sign of weakness. Be paranoid. Be careful. And always, always be prepared. I don't care how high a level or how maxed your stats are. If you don't have a backup plan or the needed supplies, you can be killed.
Of course, being over prepared is bad too. I can't find where I put anything! And then there's all the shiny loot I want to carry back, and my weight is at it's limit.
Mmm, semi-off-topic rambling. This post has been brought to you by the makers of Smap, the other corpus meat.

saldrex
Feb 14 2004, 03:49 AM
You can still advance further. All you have to do is have your primary and secondary skills lowered and retrain them up or use the fortification and master skill trainer trick if oyu have maxed ther skills. Your atributes cannot go over 100 unless you use enchantments.

and who needs that?
My current char is at 47, he can slay pretty much anything he needs to, and if he should encounter a situation that he cannot handle/survive then he'll do what most sane ppl do:
he flees
Thats right, run away. You dont need fancy tactics for that and it allows you reach a safe distance where you can reevaluate if you even wanna fight the guy (which is a bit tricky if its part of a quest) or if you just leave them be. Either way it gives one the chance to do some quick fixes to ones armor and allows for picking the best strategy for killing of anything that keeps following you...
To Eliah: Good recap on the "how to kill different opponents" list, I'll keep that in mind
To Saldex: How on middle earth did you get to level 500 without mods?

As of right now, the highest level I've ever reached is 39. But, that is a personal problem...ya see, I kept playing new characters, and accidentally writing over the older character's save file. and, therefore, had to keep remaking, or only play as one character at a time.

It i spossible to get to level 500 with out mods and if i really wanted too i could be level 1000+ (i have every thingi need to but i just dont fell like doing it). It is easy. Every time you increase a major or minor skill you get 1 level point and you trade 10 in for one level. ONe way to do it is to increase your skills and go to jail so that they lower and after you can train them back up for level points. Another way you can do it is to use fortification spells and a master trainer to train you up in a major or minor skill and when you buy the skill and you are at level in the skill your skill does not go up but instead you are effectively buying level points. I find it funny that i discovered this by accident but i do not cancider it to be much cheating since it can be done another way and i find it to save time and prefer it over spending long hours playing.
Another thing i have to say is that i have never had any saving problems (except for one or two time i forgot to save and had to reload but that is besides the point) since i tend never to save over a old saved game (well actually i do not) and i have about 300+ save on my x-box (and that is just for one of my characters atleast well actually my best and i do have some from all my others but they only constitute to be about 100 or so). I have soo many save but i preer it this way since i am always afraid to ruin my characer since one persons death can destroy many quests. It is funny since i do not use any of the older saves but i feel confort that i can always fall back on an older save especilly when there are many ways to do one task and i always like to choose the best path.
Also there is a stat and skill cap for normal growth which is 100 but you can go over with the use of spells or enchantment but that is the only way. Uncapping is when a person removes the 100 limit that is set by the normal game and in my opinion if it cannot be done in the normal game it is cheating but there are some things that seem close to cheating but i like because they save time.
I love my level 500 character

I'm a level 30... easy enough to get to but I normally get to this level and end up getting bored and restarting... part of the game is building your character and watching him/her develope IMO, I have decided to learn the skills I want to use, my strength is 100 and I'm starting to get bored of killing (unarmoured) people or creatures in 1 or 2 blows...
I haven't got as far as half of you lot but can't understand how you can get enjoyment out of a game where you are basically top of the hierarchy... actually thinking about it I suppose that does tickle some peoples pickle but not mine!
I prefer minglin with the common folks

There are still many challanges in the game at a hight level.
1) do not use any healing spells or potions before or during the fight
2) take on groupls of people who work well to gether (3 archers and 2 axe men are killer)
3) turn the dificulty all the way up
4) use a low level weapon or highly damaged one or even a low damaged weapon (ypu end up doing almost no damage i one hit)
5) use low level equiptment such as armor
These are a few of things, all of which make the game much harder, even at a high level it is still a challange to even live though a fight. I only say the high level equiptment that i have whebn i want to show how powerfull that i can be.

The highest I've ever gotten a character is lvl 70, he was a Breton Mage. I got bored with him halfway through the Telvanni Quests when I realized that mages aren't the most fun characters to play; they take too much time to get good but once they're good, you rarely in for a fight that will challenge you.
I'm really enjoying my lvl 58 Dragoon (custom class), she's well rounded in combat and a fun character to play; pretty straightforward. The only problem is now that I have the Bitter Spear of Mercy, Daedric Crescent, Marara's Ring, Phymaster's ring, and the Necromance Amulet the game just got a whole lot easier, even for lvl 100 difficulty. But I still flee whenever I see Gaenor with that bloodthirsty look in his eye.

I mess around in the tes construction set some and have worked on some levles taht i would call the "god levels" where you go and work for the gods on super powerfull missions and can even challage to gods but am still working on it. Also i tend to never rest at my level and tend to heal while taking the silt strider since it has the same effect as sleeping (the same goes with the boat transportation but not telepotation like the mages guild). Also there are some challanges in the normal game also as i have stated before. Also i hardly ever use potions at all.

Question: Can you buy training from a "secret master" trainer after your skill is up to 100?
Malchik
Apr 1 2004, 08:35 AM
Please do not give us a daily update, m gobes. Tell us when you decide to stop levelling up what the level was.
If you search you will find several threads that tell you how to level up even when all your major and minor skills are on 100. The skills themselves only go above 100 with a form of fortification (spell, potion, enchantment etc). If you have all the best items enchanted to max you can certainly increase any skill to 300 and probably 400. However that is not germane to the thread.
So far no one comes close to Saldrex on level 500

2 things ok first of all there is a MUCH easier way than goin to jail to get to infinetely high lvls that i dicovered ok well first off you must have a major or minor skill in any type of armor (most of us do) then once all you major/minor skills are maxed get the sword called fury from koghrun put it on. It will drain all armor types constant effect by 20 pionts. I think you should know what to do from there on and you can keep re equiping it when you need to.
2nd thing OK before you decide to get to super high lvls you should do the main quest until you aquire corpus. If you sleep for a REALLY(24 hours makes strength and endurance go up by 1) long time your strength and endurance will go up. You can get them infinetely high. When you get corpus cured your strength and endurance will stay the same and you can restore all your other stats. OK this means that say you have 300 endurance from corpus well when you gain lvls you will gain 30 Hp per lvl!!! meaning you could be lvl 100 and have more health than a lvl 200 guy with 100 endurance.
TRY IT!!!

Jun 15 2004, 05:39 AM
The problem with the extra stats from corprus is hope you never run into the creatures that drain the stats (greater bonewalkers, for example). To restore your stats, well, you can't.
Easiest way I found is the master trainers. Just have an item that brings your total over 100, and they will train you forever.
To bring the stats to what you are claiming, you had to sleep for what, six months to a year?
Who really wants to play a character to those level anyway? My highest was in the seventies, and I completed all of the quests for all three (MW, BM, TRIB) and beat up just about everything in the world to get there.
saldrex
Jun 15 2004, 09:23 PM
the fastest way to get high levels is with the trainer and fortification since you do not have to stop to unequipt and re equipt any item. There is nothing faster than that. It is more efficient tis way since you only have to diiolog with the trainer. It uses the least amount of time and only costs money. Money which is easy to get.
