No I don't think so. The cake exists, as you can see in the end.

Yes. I have seen it in "person."
The Cake, as a matter of fact, is a lie. Though we certainly are presented with evidence that a cake exists, the Cake- the one promised to poor Chel when she woke that fateful morning- is never produced. It is unimportant whether or not the Cake exists or not; GLaDOS lied about there being cake- Cake, at a specific place (the area following Test Chamber 19) and a specific time (after the conclusion of Test #19)- the promised delicious, moist piece of Cake was not delivered, therefore The Cake Is A Lie. 
The phrase 'The Cake Is a Lie' is indeed true. The fact that there will be a cake as a reward is a lie. But, if you take it literally, the cake is not a lie, as it does exist. Basically, it depends which way you look at the sentence.

So then I guess my avatar IS correct...
I suppose there is a more "Philisophical Sense' as to whether the cake is real or not... it could represent whether or not we get rewarded after death... not to get into religion or anything. I don't want to get a Moderator on me...

Okay, seeing as we're on portal, do you think you survive the explosion at the end?
And is there any way I can rip the cool credits song off the game and play it in WMP or similar.

I don't think she survived, because the Robot sings, "Let's be happy for those still alive..."
As for the music, you can just go into the file folder and find the ending credits music.
Maybe the cake shown at the end was an appreciative gesture created by all those little robots in the background, who are now free because you destroyed their overbearing, homicidal master computer. Thereby turning what was once a lie, into actual cake. But, I think you do die after the explosion, so no cake for you!
p.s. If anyone had the 360 version, completing the harder trials unlocks three achievements that are named, cupcake, and I forget the others, anyway, this is another way of saying the cake was real, sort of.

Cupcake, fruitcake, followed by vanilla crazy cake. Achievements are on PC, too.

Umm.... those little robots at the end was just replacment parts for GLaDOS, thus the text and title of the ending song: "Still Alive"
Atleast, that's what the majority say, and it makes sense.

Seeing as HL3 WILL come out (seeing as it leaves you hanging in HL ep 2 ) regardless of whether it was announced or not, and in the Still Alive song it mentions Black Mesa.

You can always get Garry's Mod and built a whole house out of companion cubes!
I had garry's mod before my computer broke, I had a rocket powered bathtub car with an arena full of cakes and head crabs.

Think of the fact that GlaDOS wanted to kill us in a fire. The cake was just a lure. If you pay attention to what GlaDOS AI is capable of, it might be that it created the cake to just show us "you were wrong!". That is at least my theory.
Now I'm really looking forward to play Portal Prelude which is ready to Download from today on(I think). I already installed it^^.

GlaDOS is my wife. The companion cube was the best man at the wedding and the companion sphere was the brides maid.

Well, there is the mod project Portal: Prelude.
Valve is also working on Portal 2 afaik, but don't ask me when they will publish it(just think of Episode 3...)
