I'm having a little problem with the quest to get you staff. (The one right after the quests at every hall.) When I talk to Ramanus Polius he just says "You should be out getting a staff" But he doesn't offer me the quest. The only thing that could be conflicting with this quest is Midas's Magic but I doubt it because I've done the quest before using those spells. Help please.

If you have got Toastie's says share mod, and recruited each of the generals. you might have a problem now, if not. I have no idea

Nope, I don't have that mod. Weird worked before on different characters but now it won't. I have some eyecandy mods ,PJ's spells, Midas's Magic and MMM but that's it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hehe. I broke raminus' quest that way - I already had the staff before I even started the mages guild quest line (Looted the high elf general's staff in Toastie's) ruined my whole game and a lot in it, couldn't fix it since it was broke so far I hard to start over

you sure you havnt exepted it yet ?
is not tehn go to the cave your sopposed to go to and get teh staff come back and maybe hewill tell you what to do next
its happened to me before with a much more important quest lifting teh siege of kavatch when you have to storm teh courrtyard and you kill everything then you go talk to the guy and he says "storm teh coughtyard kill tehm all" i tried killlall in ~ but didnt work so i just went into the castle and got the ring came back and quest got updated and i could finish it .

I understand you, Kraigor. But that won't work for me. I've been to Wellspring Cave but the dead mage isn't there so I can't get the key for the door to the island. Should I try to use the console to get me a copy of the key then get the staff? I also just noticed I have the Orrery installed. Another thing that could be screwing with the guys mind. Time to go try some stuff.

If I was you, I'd look up the consol command which triggers the spawning of the mages corpses. then continue the quest like it was intended - I think you prefend most bugs like that, if you set the stage at 100 a lot of bugs could occur.

MOD's are like Russian Roulette: You never know when something will shaft your game. I only use about 4 MOD's and DLC's . MOD's can cause trouble but I have been lucky with the ones I have been using the last several games (crosses fingers throws salt over left shoulder) so I can't complain.

Heh, I have about 150 mods installed. It's all about getting the load order right and knowing what a mod does and reading all the readme's attached. I don't install mods that are blatantly going to conflict... the game runs just fine. No problems encountered.
