Have you niticed that the morrowind ai really sucks they could have made it petter whit a pach or something for example Me and npc who was looking his friend
and he says that his friend went to the severs and now i need to find him but in the severs I have to look back every ten secon that I havent lost him because he is running agains the wall looking stupid and when I am in a fight there is so litle help that he gives to me.so many times I have loaded the game because every time
he dies why because he is so stupid he fights against three orcs(or whatever they are in the severs) wich he knows he is going to lose the fight . after painful experiense I got out .one thing is for sure next time i go there i wont take anyone whit me because they keep stucking on the walls on on the rocks or hey just do not keep up whit me. has anybody such painful experienses I pet you have.
Myris
I've the same problems. Every time an NPC follows me, I can run way ahead of him because they are so slow. Also they get stuck around corners sometimes. I've even lost some NPC's that are still running up a tree somewhere in Vardenfell. I don't know if it can be solved with a mod that improves AI.
If it is hardcoded it is impossible to do, and we have to wait for the next Elder Scrolls game to see if it has improved.

PS.: No offense, but try to use more interpunction in your post next time. That reads much easier.

This once happened to me, a kajiit i think it was there was this cliff racer and it got stuck in a tree when it tried to attack me so the kajiit ran around the tree and i kept going... i didnt notice, it was a great move. seeing i had to retrace all of my steps in order to find that little *** again
viper7
I m sorry if it was hard to read next time I will make it more readable
if you noticed there can be some "errors" on my text it is because I not from America
or England I am from Finland and I am still in school but I can tell you that I am pretty good at english (i think) thanks for the advice though
Myris
It doesn't matter, I'm also not from England. And sometimes it is difficult to find the right word. Even it is more difficult to understand some shortenings. Nevertheless Your English is very good ^_^ .

Ontopic: I have searched for a mod to increase AI, but I haven't found them. I think it difficult to make them or perhaps it is to much work. AI could even be hardcoded so it could not be altered.
Almelexia
yes I think the Ai system in morrowind suck. I needs to be modified (I think)
Sludgewort
They should have it so that where you go it follows the EXACT path you took
ohGr
that would cause more errors!, jumping over rocks and all, the AI isnt that smart.

unfortunantly, the AI is the most draining thing in the game, you look at seyda need, remove the NPC's...all smooth gameplay...for me...its 25fps.

but...there is no way to counter this little problem.
Sludgewort
Well I guess if we used the fortify speed spells on them it would work better
viper7
even if you use fortyfy speed theyl still stuck on walls, rocks and objects
But in long Jorneys it might be a good idea

I think the Witchgirl mod has a companion that has somewhat better AI than Calvus Horatius. Only, she won't have the same in-dialogue options Horatius has, like Share. And Calvus is an effective man-on-the street, meaning he can provide local rumours and dialogue-based journal entries.

If you equip any companion with the right equipment, he will do well. It's hopefully well-known that even the lowliest goblin can take him down in his out-of-the-box armour- the patethetic Imperial steel.
Almelexia
If you want a companion mod that is good then you should go to the lys mods website. And download better companions 1.0 it will improve and add the companions in the game.

...Here is one mod. Not from TheLys' site, but a good one nevertheless.

Off topic spam removed. Sludgewort, you've already got one strike for spamming, so I suggest you be very careful that your posts have some relevant content.

Calvus horatus is pretty slow but I found him helpfull in the sewers
sodaplay.com
In my game of the year edition the NPCs seem to have that problem fixed. They run a lot faster they take almost your exact path and seem to know when there is a rock and stuff in there way. But I have it on the Xbox so maybe its not the same on the PC
Sludgewort
I have Xbox too and acually, all of the followy guys they acually follow you because in morrowind I remember if I ran to far they could turn around and run away
Hayabusa
Within the PC version their Ai is not so advanced, so to say. They easily stuck if a single rock or tree appears on their way and they need time to find another path. Sometimes they start to run in opposite direction... they`re quite slow as well.
So in fact they provide little help and many problems.
Sludgewort
yeah,

I sometimes just hate them

especially those household slaves.. dry.gif dry.gif they are weak, slow, and run around in thier underwear! laugh.gif laugh.gif

shiftyph34r.gif Has anyone run into the problem of taking Calvus Horatius (our stupido friend, as was said...lol) down the ladder into the Dwemer ruin Bamz-Amschend? He goes down there just fine but there doesn't seem to be a path to get him back up...? Levitation only gets him halfway out.. (I tried turning off collisions to get to the ladder & surface us both but he seems to think the surface is 3 feet higher than everybody else when he gets there.. Solutions, fine people of Vardenfell? <Also -- as far as him being slow- I made him a constant effect ring of fortify speed and he does a bit better.>

Hmm - another old thread but I suppose you searched which is good so we'll answer you (if anyone has an answer).

It's so long since I played Trib I can't remember what his options are. Does he have a mark position/return to mark option? If not you can use the console on PC to put a second version of him in the game. (Kill off the first if you must but don't forget to take anything he is carrying for you).

Otherwise there are mods available to get around this problem and to let him follow you to Ebonheart.

On xbox I have no ideas.
Abramul
Is there any way to give him scrolls of Div/Almsi Intervention, and tell him to use them?
Or, for PC, can you use the console to teleport him to another cell? Of course, you can always open your save as a plugin, and move him to another cell...wherever you want him, I suppose.
Ikarion Quelanthas
Not only the companions, but ALL npc are not very intelligent. Looking those stupid spellcaster throwing me a fireball near a rock makes me smile: the spell stops on the rock laugh.gif

And THEY are spellcasters! Theyr INT is probably very high smile.gif
VG_King
Just for a little hint, if you want others to run faster, created a spell that increases speed on touch (or target) and watch you allies stay right behind you when traveling.
Abramul
I saw a reference to a script somewhere (VEmbrace, maybe?) that makes companions "tunnel" if they get too far away. You could splice that with the companion script.

whats that guys name again poster_stupid.gif poster_stupid.gif poster_stupid.gif
