Does anyone here play the sims or any of the series? The sims 3 site went up on wednesday.

The sims. Rather not speak about it here, the sims are for people who kill little people who can't fight back because the weren't programmed to do so.

I used to....but they turned me off by not allowing you to modify the sims body in the sims2 char creator,I mean in a game about playing "your" sims and creating them from "your" imagination, how the hell can you explain the lack of body morphing that has been happening since like 2000?

The original was better, there at least ther was some tools available to make body types with no prior modeling skills required, and all you needed was a little bit of knowledge of some paint program and you could copy pase any chars pic and create a sim.

I don't think i ever tried to kill a sim...but i tried to imprison that horrid clown, imagine my surprise when he created a black hole at his feet warped out to torture my sims anew.

I played the Sims for about an hour. It just wasn't for me. Why sit there and watch a virtual person cook, eat and then use the bathroom when I can do all of those exciting things in real life.

Same as Thanodai.

Seriously, aren't videogames supposed to be about doing things that you can't do in real life because it's impossible/too hard/too dangerous to do in real life?

I used to play. What a great game. I moved to other games ...but I still play from time to time, usualy on holidays when i have more time.

i play when i am bored out of my mind with all other games that i own... my brother bought all of the expansions for the sims 2, so i just put them all on my computer with a no cd crack before i moved out. need a new hard drive though, all the crap i have is filling the 150gb one i have to the brim.
bluekatt
i play 2
got nearly all the expansion packs
and several console versions as well ( which arent as good unusal for me i prefer the pc version )
the ds versions ( which are sim in name only they remind me of animal crossing )
and more downloads i could probably ever use

what do you mean addicted fanboi ?

I play the sims, not as much any more but I used to play it all the time. Now though I play it very rarely, but it is still fun. Can't wait for the sims 3 to come out!

I used to have the ps2 version, a long time ago... was terrible - you could only have bungalows, and hardly any stuff inside. I did play the Sims 2 for a while, but I got bored of that fairly quickly.
Gamerbird
I had the sims bustin out on PS2 and it was rather boring due to the fact it lacked multistories and you could only have three familys.

I also have the sims 2 on my PSP and its alright but also lacks the multistories.

Played for awhile, modded for awhile. Got bored. I mean, once you've made a family with a family tree that doesn't fork (including parents married to grandchildren), hired the grim reaper as a maid, sent children to work, and about a dozen other equally questionable things, what else is there? Even as far as modding goes.

And it just seemed to be too much like a high tech doll house. And true to that, when you aren't busy making someone have 50+ intimate friends, you're busy torturing them in any way imaginable. And the fact that it's so common/easy to do it doesn't reflect too well on the rest of society.

Byt yeah, without mods, the Sims just plain sucks.

I played Sims when it first débuted and liked it, but it's a bit of a fad game. After a week or two I'd already ditched it or sold it or something. I'd had infinitely more fun with earlier Sim-titles (City, Earth, Ant) which might have factored into Sims's relatively short period of time gracing my hard drive. After watching five pre-teen girls purchase Sims 2 at the local game store, I figured the franchise as a whole was no longer my cup of tea.

I was obsessed with the old one. I quit playing The Sims 2 once it became a "female's" game. You know with the glamour, fashion, clothes etc. Just look at the modding site. The old one had its humorous moments and was original at the time.

I played all sims

I'll be honest.

I like playing The Sims 2. I think it's a cool game, and I play it because I like games that give you a lot of choices about how you like to look, what you want to be...FREEDOM TO CHOOSE whistling.gif biggrin.gif. I am gonna reinstall it this week (I think) since I got the last add-on last week.

I love the sims 2, they need to make more games like Sims 2, Gmod, and oblivion, very few games out there on the market like these

Tried Sims a while ago and just wasn't into it. I haven't really gotten into a Sim game since the SimCity2000/SimTower era. Anybody remember SimCopter? Being able to import your Sim2k cities and fly around in them... and blow the ever-loving $#&% outta them if you knew the Apache cheat... biggrin.gif

or simracer... smash all those innocent fools that dont jump aside fast enough! ah i wish a new simcity would emerge and give us the baility to roam it in 3d... somin like gta for creative people... build your town first and then wreak havoc there...
the sims lol... never understood it... played it for 1 or 2 days and then got rid of it asap... lol its so creepy if you wash the dishes virtually whilst your real sink gets crushed under the dishes weight...
dungeon keeper was more of my kind regarding sim like games...
