I have a question that I would like to know the answer to. What was the worst experience and/or the saddest time you killed someone when you were in the DB? (Personally mine was when I had to kill the skooma addict. "Do-do you wan-wanna be m-m-my f-f-f-friend?"

Honestly, i felt bad for the Khajjiit in the sanctuary, I just started to like him when I was like "OOOO your're going down first mothavulka." Then he was so nice to me, then i was like... vulk.
But I really feel bad killing off the Draconis family, i felt bad for the mother, cuz i love my mommy.

The Dark Brotherhood is a guild of cold blooded sadistic murderers. If you feel anything but "he died too quickly," you do not belong there. Oblivion butchers the Dark Brotherhood, wussifies them.

I think the worst part was killing the huge orc in DB sanctuary, as I pierced his heart with an arrow, he screamed

When I finished all of the missions, now that sucked.
I'm a super-cool assassin-man, and now they expect me to ferry a list of names from a statue to some lady? What is this?
Now, after sneaking through houses, hunting down people, coming as a shadow and leaving like the night, I'm reduced to being a daedra-damned messenger?

Taking out the DB wasn't that bad, I got all the non-essential ones before I joined, snuck in as a thief.

Here's what I pulled from uesp.net in the oblivion easter eggs section
The item dubbed "Mother's Head" , from the quest "Following a Lead", is a reference from the slasher movie "Friday the 13th: part 2". Jason (the deranged and invulnerable killer) talks to the head of his decapitated mother, who was killed in an earlier movie.

I enjoyed the whole DB questline. Most of the kills I did from far away without even taking a second looks at my target after they were down. The only thing that phased me a little was the cleaning of the DB hideout. I took a liking to them by then and was honestly shocked when I got the order to "clean house".
As someone mentioned already, the Khajiit trader was the only one I was looking forward to killing, but when he suddenly gets all friendly I didn't know what to do for a moment... Then I shot him. Oh well, you signed up for a coldblooded assassin guild. What did you expect?

The worst part: seeing Lucien dead and mutilated and not being able to say a word to their murderers, even if I knew he was innocent.
The funniest part: I am sure that when all of us understood that we needed to kill everyone in the sanctuary thought: WOW, at least I am allowed to kill that hated @%!& khajiit who sells poisoned apples. Then you go, eager of pushing your sword into his furry neck, and find him being so nice with you. That was pure genius from Bethesda !!!

Worst time had to be becoming the listener (WHAT? Being an personal assassin for a black hand member seemed alot cooler to me...) and then having a sanctuary full of generic murderers. I'd rather be in charge of a guild which actually has members with some sort of personality, so clearing out cheydinhal sanctuary for the purge was annoying.

Jun 12 2008, 09:36 PM
I hated the purification and seeing Lucien hung upside down. I also hated after becoming the Listener when you talk to all the murderers and ask about rumors, one of them talks about your second-in-command eating Lucien's intestines. I pretty much attacked her again and again. I wish I could kill her for good. D:<
My second play around I was totally ready for the purification. I bought about ten poisened apples from M'raag Dar and set them up. But I felt bad and eventually just sucked the blood out of everyone so they went peacefully. Sadly, the orc got to an apple before I could take them back. I decided to resurrect everyone but the orc kept dying because of the poison. I want to cure him because he's so nice. D: It makes me saaaaad.

I agree. Getting a lousy 200 per week and a NPC Companion when you want one is a lousy way to end a major questline. But the death of Lucien Lachance was bad also. I would have liked to see the questline end with Lucien running the show and my character being his second.

in my opinion the worst part was Killing Rufio...
Many of us Don't know the story Behind rufio so Here you go: "Cladius Arcadia", the man In the imperial prison Arranged Rufio's assassination. Caught when Arranging that assassination, the imperial Soldiers Threw his ass to prison. why he arranged that?
If the player accuses Rufio in that Dark brotherhood quest "The Knife in the Dark" of having done something to deserve death, Rufio makes the following comment:
No! Please! I didn't mean to do it, you understand me? She struggled! I... I told her to just stay still, but she wouldn't listen! I had no choice!
This may mean that Rufio accidentally killed Claudius Arcadia's wife or daughter when he had a struggled with her (attempted to rape her). This shows that Rufio is far from the innocent old man he appears to be, and Claudius Arcadia is not wholly evil. This is quite possibly one of the darkest side stories in Oblivion, though most players will probably not talk to Rufio before killing him, and therefore never realize what he had done.
I found it in Claudius's Journal:
Entry 3: It worked! Last night I was visited by someone, a representative from the Dark Brotherhood! The Night Mother heard my prayers! The money was exchanged, and the man promised me I would have satisfaction. I don't know where he's hiding, and neither does the Dark Brotherhood, but as soon as he's located, Rufio will die!
Why this is the worst part is that The Background of this Assassination remains Uncompleted to novice and amateur players. so such Dark and intresting "Chain of events" story remains hidden to certain users. I investigated this because I wanted to know Why that Rufio, innocent looking old man (which he was not) had to be killed and What assassination did "Claudius Arcadia" arrange. I hope this Helps Anyone Looking for Dark brotherhood backstory.
Cheers,
IHOE

It's a bit difficult to answer because it changed a bit for me every time I experienced the game. So I'll talk about the first time when I didn't know anything about the game beforehand

I didn't like killing the members except the Khajit who I decided to suspect to be the traitor.
and I didn't like killing Lucien Lachance...
The biggest surprise for me was that I had killed half of the main instance of the DB xD That, that was funny ^^
The rest of the kills of my characters were more or less like : no justice, no judging. Once a target was down it didn't existed anymore so no need to turn back and have a look

Wow so many people seem to like the Khajitt in the sanctuary, believe me I think he was the Traitor. yes if we look at it this way: after you kill "Philida" he doesn't seem to change anyway if that's the case, saying "You've done so many Things for...". he Actually says that after everybody Knows that "Lucian" gives secret order to meet him in fort "faragut" for an Important matter, so concerning this, the traitor realizes his cover is blown so he changes his stance with the player, from an insulting enemy to a Friend. seems suspicious to me...
But it is a bad part, thus killing your Fellow mates for a Khajitt Traitor, and bastard seems unfair and linear in my opinion.
