I have a question that I would like to know the answer to. What was the worst experience and/or the saddest time you killed someone when you were in the DB? (Personally mine was when I had to kill the skooma addict. "Do-do you wan-wanna be m-m-my f-f-f-friend?" sad.gif )

Seeing one of the game's best characters hanged upside down in a house, having been tortured to death becuase of being accused of murdering members of the same guild he was in.... verymad.gif
gman021
yeah, that was pretty evil... glad we got the traitor though dry.gif

do you know about the little easter egg with the "Mothers Head" 'item' ? blink.gif

it's quite interesting...

Honestly, i felt bad for the Khajjiit in the sanctuary, I just started to like him when I was like "OOOO your're going down first mothavulka." Then he was so nice to me, then i was like... vulk.

But I really feel bad killing off the Draconis family, i felt bad for the mother, cuz i love my mommy.

Next of Kin.
It was what I don't like to do. (I ended up to spawn bandits with console..)
ninja_lord666
My worst? When I killed Bellamont, because I knew that was the last person I was going to kill for the Brotherhood. sad.gif
crazydave
My worst moment, was when they expeted me to go from murdering people, to talking to a statue every week. But that didnt stop me from killing anyway wink.gif
Demimonde
Gotta be the time i was killing the black hand. the second the Kajit dude in bruma said "what trechory is this?" i knew. It sucked, cause i was going to tortture him, but i just killed him with custom spell.

I felt sad when i killed the skooma addict, I felt sorry for him ermm.gif

exactly. Whenever I do DB quests, I learn not to talk to him, because when I do kill him, I just feel guilty about it... confused.gif

The Dark Brotherhood is a guild of cold blooded sadistic murderers. If you feel anything but "he died too quickly," you do not belong there. Oblivion butchers the Dark Brotherhood, wussifies them.
kraigor
I have n o regrets well kinda it was pretty sad when Lachance died sad.gif
on another note teh creepiest part was when you go into teh lighthouse basment i actully read teh traitors journal lol tehn im jsut like "OK whacko" tehn i turned around and saw teh mothers head im like ewwwwwwwwwwww then i hit it with my sword biggrin.gif
Dark_Ansem
worst moment? when I had to kill Vicente valtieri. now that was not pretty...
macmert
I think the worst part was killing the huge orc in DB sanctuary, as I pierced his heart with an arrow, he screamed

"Why, Brother?"

I was like, I am sorry Brother... very sorry...

I felt like the traitor, betraying their trust and friendship... Damn...
Iapetus
When I finished all of the missions, now that sucked.
I'm a super-cool assassin-man, and now they expect me to ferry a list of names from a statue to some lady? What is this?
Now, after sneaking through houses, hunting down people, coming as a shadow and leaving like the night, I'm reduced to being a daedra-damned messenger?

The Draconis family & betraying the mom’s confidence like that, I resurrected her & most the others.
Taking out the DB wasn't that bad, I got all the non-essential ones before I joined, snuck in as a thief.
Killing the vampire in the DB Purification sucked (pun intended) because even after resurrecting him he no longer offered to make me a vampire.

Here's what I pulled from uesp.net in the oblivion easter eggs section

The item dubbed "Mother's Head" , from the quest "Following a Lead", is a reference from the slasher movie "Friday the 13th: part 2". Jason (the deranged and invulnerable killer) talks to the head of his decapitated mother, who was killed in an earlier movie.

I enjoyed the whole DB questline. Most of the kills I did from far away without even taking a second looks at my target after they were down. The only thing that phased me a little was the cleaning of the DB hideout. I took a liking to them by then and was honestly shocked when I got the order to "clean house".

As someone mentioned already, the Khajiit trader was the only one I was looking forward to killing, but when he suddenly gets all friendly I didn't know what to do for a moment... Then I shot him. Oh well, you signed up for a coldblooded assassin guild. What did you expect?

If you drop the head in the Farm House and talk to the "Fingers," no one seems to notice (or care) that the head is there. EXCEPT the traitor.

That was the worst for me, but I enjoyed smacking around M'raaj-Dar, and I liked him even less as a suck-up.

killing dreth
not that i like him much but i tend to utterly foul it up and kill many a legion soldier
maybe i should try a more direct aproach
socksftw
Personally, I found killing Dreth quite enjoyable. I even saved just before so I could watch his reaction when I told him I was going to kill him! rolleyes.gif

But for me, the worst part was when they told me I had to cleanse the Cheydinhal sanctuary.

But later, I found out the resurrect funtion. ha ha ha...

Well, I haven't actually done it myself, but if you are ever playing the DB quest line again, I would do it just for that added "Extra-effect."
bluekatt
he seems to be even more nervous then he already is and there is an option to talk about the head hen you drop it there
but dont quote me on that

"The Brassahood is a superstitius Bunch of Morons!"

I was going to say, until i found out that the Night Mother is one of the Normal Oblivion "Deities".
You dont have to believe in her. Shes tere, in Bravil, being transparent.

Well, this is not a Bunch of cold blooded Murderers, they are religious.

The worst part is in the name of the game.. it's called TES4:Oblivion, but not TES4:Dark Brotherhood smile.gif
bluekatt
come to think of it the worst part is the coldest sleep where you have to find and kil hoarblood
its always impossible to fidn him and i hate walking up against that vulking mountain if i could blast it out of the game i'd do it
GenghisKhanIT
The worst part: seeing Lucien dead and mutilated and not being able to say a word to their murderers, even if I knew he was innocent.

The funniest part: I am sure that when all of us understood that we needed to kill everyone in the sanctuary thought: WOW, at least I am allowed to kill that hated @%!& khajiit who sells poisoned apples. Then you go, eager of pushing your sword into his furry neck, and find him being so nice with you. That was pure genius from Bethesda !!!
stormdrooper1
killing your man who is allergic to the mead (cant remember his name and cant be arsed to look). paralyse him indefinitely and then kill him. eeeeevil

When you drop the head and talk to him he says "Is that a,a head?" and then he tries to play it off like he wasn't concerned about it and starts acting all paranoid (I do the head thing every time i play DB) As for my least favorite part, Comming back to the draconis farm house to see my favorite elder scrolls NPC hanging upside down gutted like a fish.
bluekatt
wonder what will happen if you use ressurect on him
Olurum
Worst time had to be becoming the listener (WHAT? Being an personal assassin for a black hand member seemed alot cooler to me...) and then having a sanctuary full of generic murderers. I'd rather be in charge of a guild which actually has members with some sort of personality, so clearing out cheydinhal sanctuary for the purge was annoying.
KhajiitQueen
I hated the purification and seeing Lucien hung upside down. I also hated after becoming the Listener when you talk to all the murderers and ask about rumors, one of them talks about your second-in-command eating Lucien's intestines. I pretty much attacked her again and again. I wish I could kill her for good. D:<

My second play around I was totally ready for the purification. I bought about ten poisened apples from M'raag Dar and set them up. But I felt bad and eventually just sucked the blood out of everyone so they went peacefully. Sadly, the orc got to an apple before I could take them back. I decided to resurrect everyone but the orc kept dying because of the poison. I want to cure him because he's so nice. D: It makes me saaaaad.

i didnt like becoming the listener, killer the addict or seing lucien

I agree. Getting a lousy 200 per week and a NPC Companion when you want one is a lousy way to end a major questline. But the death of Lucien Lachance was bad also. I would have liked to see the questline end with Lucien running the show and my character being his second.
thiosk2
The saddest part of the DB line was having to remember to go back to that stupid statue every week.

I do miss one of the girls in the sanctuary-- im pretty sure she had an electronic crush on me.
Zeazer
My worst moment was killing the sanctuary.
But my best is talking to the addicted elf.
Yeah, sure you can have my soul!
Can i have yours to?

Haha that is funny smile.gif

Bethesda blocked that. I tried.
Exodus1161
I didnt like having to kill all my DB friends for being ''traitors'', they all liked me, need to resurrect them so theres more than 2 mindless npc's walking around an empty cave for the rest of the DB days
darkcloud372
Killing Gogron Gro-Bolmog. And Vicente. They were my pals.
Snake932
kill that khajit in chedynal sanctuary. when he start to be a friend, you must kill him.
Ihoe
in my opinion the worst part was Killing Rufio... closedeyes.gif
Many of us Don't know the story Behind rufio so Here you go: "Cladius Arcadia", the man In the imperial prison Arranged Rufio's assassination. Caught when Arranging that assassination, the imperial Soldiers Threw his ass to prison. why he arranged that?
If the player accuses Rufio in that Dark brotherhood quest "The Knife in the Dark" of having done something to deserve death, Rufio makes the following comment:

No! Please! I didn't mean to do it, you understand me? She struggled! I... I told her to just stay still, but she wouldn't listen! I had no choice!

This may mean that Rufio accidentally killed Claudius Arcadia's wife or daughter when he had a struggled with her (attempted to rape her). This shows that Rufio is far from the innocent old man he appears to be, and Claudius Arcadia is not wholly evil. This is quite possibly one of the darkest side stories in Oblivion, though most players will probably not talk to Rufio before killing him, and therefore never realize what he had done.

I found it in Claudius's Journal:
Entry 3: It worked! Last night I was visited by someone, a representative from the Dark Brotherhood! The Night Mother heard my prayers! The money was exchanged, and the man promised me I would have satisfaction. I don't know where he's hiding, and neither does the Dark Brotherhood, but as soon as he's located, Rufio will die!

Why this is the worst part is that The Background of this Assassination remains Uncompleted to novice and amateur players. so such Dark and intresting "Chain of events" story remains hidden to certain users. I investigated this because I wanted to know Why that Rufio, innocent looking old man (which he was not) had to be killed and What assassination did "Claudius Arcadia" arrange. I hope this Helps Anyone Looking for Dark brotherhood backstory.

Cheers,
IHOE

and know that oblivion is filled with interesting things like this, another one is the horror of "Dive Rock"
Kalas_Ragnarok
It's a bit difficult to answer because it changed a bit for me every time I experienced the game. So I'll talk about the first time when I didn't know anything about the game beforehand smile.gif

I didn't like killing the members except the Khajit who I decided to suspect to be the traitor.
and I didn't like killing Lucien Lachance...

The biggest surprise for me was that I had killed half of the main instance of the DB xD That, that was funny ^^
The rest of the kills of my characters were more or less like : no justice, no judging. Once a target was down it didn't existed anymore so no need to turn back and have a look

(I just felt a bit sorry for baenlin's bodyguard when you meet him at Olav inn ;p )
Sarpedon
I hated that even if you figured out that you were getting the wrong orders, you couldn't really do anything.

If you look closely in the boxing khajit's house, you can find his friggin black hand robe.
Lord Barkmann
My worst moment was seeing that Lucien Lachance was dead, he to be was like the best DB member verymad.gif
Ihoe
Wow so many people seem to like the Khajitt in the sanctuary, believe me I think he was the Traitor. yes if we look at it this way: after you kill "Philida" he doesn't seem to change anyway if that's the case, saying "You've done so many Things for...". he Actually says that after everybody Knows that "Lucian" gives secret order to meet him in fort "faragut" for an Important matter, so concerning this, the traitor realizes his cover is blown so he changes his stance with the player, from an insulting enemy to a Friend. seems suspicious to me...
But it is a bad part, thus killing your Fellow mates for a Khajitt Traitor, and bastard seems unfair and linear in my opinion.
