I've recently read a rumor that the sunken land known as Thras, [the homeland of the sload] is starting to rise again. Anyone know anything about this?

The Sloads were and still are a race with a strong affinity to necromancy. The Sloads releasd the Thrassian plague upon Tamriel. Cyrodiil responded by sending an army who were allied by The High Elves and Redgaurds if I am correct. They defeated the Sloads, and then the High Elf sages released a spell upon Thras, sinking it to the bottom of the ocean. However, some sloads survived and are slowly bringing Thras back up to the survace. So the Sloads arent dead. All the did was keep there heads down for a while and bring Thras back up.

Anyone think this might have any relevance to the next TES game?

I doubt it, but you never know.
