Article link: So...who has the setup with the most blinding lights?
Recently I went into Dixons to get myself an external 4-port USB hub for my PC and laptop. Upon installing the hub I noticed that it glows a ridiculously bright neon blue whenever it is plugged in. As it is powered by USB it means even when the PC is off, the light is still on. Apparently it's not enough that I'm going to be impotent from all the radiation emitted from monitors, now computer manufactures are focusing on burning my retina before I hit the vintage age of 22.
Now my PC rig is in the room I sleep in; I'm in a house with 3 other guys so I don't have an office to put my PC in. I probably wouldn't even put my PC in an office even if I had one. I like watching movies on my 24" monitor while in bed! The problem is that this USB hub makes it hard to get to sleep unless I turn my PC off at the wall (yes, more eco-friendly, save the world, blah blah blah).
Through further inspection I've noticed that I now have 6 peripherals for my PC that have these blinding neon-lights. Personally I blame the film "The Fast and the Furious", and the recent growth of "chav" cars that make use of the neon lights that emit a coloured glow underneath cars. It seems blinding PC users with blinding neon lights is the new in-thing.
My 24" monitor's "on" light is neon blue, my Logitech z5500 speaker control unit "on" light is neon blue, my Steelseries keyboard has neon lights for "num lock", "caps lock" and "scroll lock", my Medusa headset control unit has not one, not two, but three neon blue lights (or red, depending on settings), my Netgear wireless dongle not only has a neon blue LED but it flashes as well, and lastly is the aforementioned, newly aquired USB hub.
My Steelseries keyboard lights are so bright I've had to cover it up with my Game card, and even then it manages to shine through the thick plastic card. What possible use do these blinding lights serve?
So how many of you can top 6 PC peripherals that have blinding neon lights?
