I'm probably going to catch some flak for this but here goes...How about Deus Ex: Invisible War? I loved the first game and i bought the pc version of IW the day it came out. I took it straight home, installed it, and almost had an allergic reaction to the disappointment. The game was so dumbed down that words couldn't even do it justice and it still amazes me to think that a great title could have fallen so far. The engine was really buggy and i had alot of problems with hit detection, ragdoll physics and a ton of other performance factors(i had to be DAMN sure i saved every few minutes because it wasn't at all uncommon to simply be walking down a hallway and fall through the floor, out of the level to my death). For the record, I did finish it. Multiple times even just to see if the branching story could bring some of the old Deus Ex feel back into it, and to be fair, the story had some real potential(at least in my opinion) ultimately though...i felt left out in the cold. To add insult to the situation, I had lost my reciept so i couldn't return the @$#! thing. At least the disc makes a nice drink coaster...

I never actually hated a game that much - but there is a game (Which I just got for free, recently) Which really, REALLY got me pissed off - and eventually, quit the game after 10 minutes of playing. (Sorry bethesda!) Pirates of the Carribean.. It was just a terrible game alltogether, I really felt like going back to the 90s or so. I read some pretty bad reviews about it, but I just couldn't control half of the settings because even opening a door required jamming on each of the keyboard keys to see how to open it, the handy option menu showed me I had to press the (X) to open a door, yes.. the (X)! On my PC?... Story was bad, voices were badly copied - it might be I just had a buggy version (Got it free from a mate of mine, who didnt need it anymore, and I wanted to try it) for me, that's a real nono. and somehow it also had something to do with Bethesda..

PS: Imo Warcraft 3 was, and still is a great game - I actually play it now and then, I really love the gameplay and races and such. Hope they ever reconsider Warcraft 4, but I suppose WoW meant the end of the Warcraft series..

I'd certainly say this is a top candidate for the worst sequel ever... To tell the truth, I only played the demo, but my complete disappointment in it left an ill taste in my mouth for months. Such a fantastic game spawned a completely unworthy sequel (obviously suffering from consolitis). Very sad.

Oh god, Vampire Rain really makes me shudder. How in the world can you make a bad vampire game? Just ask the makers of this horrid excuse for a play-by-play. It's like Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six had an unholy child, and all the good parts of those games were removed. BTW, I never did get why the rain had anything to do with the vampires, probably just because I quit when my head started hurting.

I heard that vampire rain was also insanely difficult. You can't make a terrible console game and then expect people to play it when it's extremely difficult. Let's just say some would call it the last thread on a very thin rope. Oh yeah, with santa clause tied to one end of the rope.

Quotes from seanbaby.com that I agree with. Years ago, a group of cruel scientists kidnapped a retarded kid, blindfolded him, filled his helmet with bees, and demanded that he draw cartoons. Those cartoons were later used as The Legend of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon cutscenes.
The gameplay is almost as deep and engaging as flipping from one option to the next on a DVD menu. Say for instance one person was playing Zelda: Wand of Gamelon, and another person was telling Terminator 2 to be played in French, then English, then French again, they'd both be having the same amount of fun. However, once the second person actually started watching Terminator 2 in French, they'd be having approximately 927,087 times more fun.

I liked Invisibe war but I bought it for the Xbox. (didn't have a comp back then) I didn't have ANY of the problems you mentioned in your first post about it. The AI seemed decent, the powers were fun, the weapon selection was nice, I thought it had a good story line, and I liked the level design such as the Archology and Antarctica. My vote for worst game (that I have played) would be Dead 2 rights. It was a cheap knock off of Max Payne and the ONLY game I have never finished because I gave up on it.

They fixed many of the bugs when they ported it to the Xbox, but numerous patches still left the PC version buggy.

The AI seemed decent, the powers were fun, the weapon selection was nice, I thought it had a good story line, and I liked the level design such as the Archology and Antarctica.
The AI was decent, but there were absolutely no noticeable changes from the first game(Which was released 13 years prior). The augmentations were cool, but none of them (at least not to me) felt as thought out as those in the predecessor. In the original, I felt there was a usefull need for almost every single one of the augmentations. Not so much in the second game.
The story line was good, but like the augmentations, I never felt that it was quite as fleshed out as it did in the original. In the first game, choices you made could wind up having a profound impact on how certain points in the game turned out(wether or not Jock died, If you recieved Gunthers kill Phrase or not, If Paul died, etc.). But in IW, things played out pretty much the same way no matter what you did(With obvious exception of the choices made in the last level).
The weapon selection was reduced in the second game as well. You had a:Shock prod, Shotgun, Sniper rifle, Rocket Launcher, Pistol, (Various melee weapons), Flamethrower, and SMG(I think thats all, but I may have forgotten something.) In the original, you had: Shock prod, 2 types of shotguns, Sniper rifle, Gep gun(rocket launcher), Flamethrower, Crossbow, 2 types of Pistols, (Various melee weapons), Assault rifle(SMG),and LAW(One-shot and very powerful rocket launcher). I will concede that IW had a superior selection of various grenade and wall-mine types. I had lots of fun with them.
I hated the removal of the skill system as well. You used to be rewarded for going out of your way to explore every nook and cranny of a level, but not in IW. You couldn't build your character to your personal play style(as much) and everybody had identical skill sets, without the option for improvment (in an RPG, I can't see that as being anything but bad). A guy who had just started the game could pick a lock just as well as a guy who was in the final stages of the game.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and it had its merits. But as a long time fan of the original, It was a letdown to me.

Cutthroats - PC. (Windows 95, 98 SE, 2000, ME XP)
Gameplay: 6 Graphics: 1 Sound: 4
Overall: 4.5
These Graphics are the worst in what I've seen in a very long time. But It was a very addicting game even if it did have crappy graphics
Cossacks 2: Napoleonic Wars
Gameplay: 1 Graphics: 4 Sound: 2
Gameplay: Your troops run away if they fail to fire their weapons before the enemy Graphics.. Not too bad they are ok considering how bad gameplay and sound is Sound: Can be a bit jumpy at time due to some glitches
Cossacks: European Wars (Addons- The Art of War and Back to War)
Gameplay: 8 Graphics: 5 Sound: 9
Overall: 7.5-8
The first version of the game was amazing. especially back in 2002 when it was created. So many nations and units to choose from. Epic campaigns
----
Empire Earth OWNS! The whole entire first series kicks ass!
Assassin's Creed- Xbox 360 + Playstation 3
Gameplay: 2 Graphics: 8 Sound: 7
Overall: 5
Yeah, this game was fun after the first couple of Assassinations, but it was so damn repetative!!!!!

From what I remember these were the weapons. Stun baton, shock prod, 3 kinds of pistols, standard, merc, assassin. Standard had a flashlight attachment, merc had an infared light that didn't alert living targets but bots would light you up like a cristmas tree, and assassin had a scope. Sword and dragon tooth sword, shotgun, bolt caster, hellfire bolt caster, SMG, widowmaker (modified SMG), sniper rifle, combat knife, assassin knife, rocket launcher, mag rail, spider bots, assorted mines/grenades, and I could be wrong but I think there was a chaingun. I don't remember if there was a flame thrower or not but if there was I probably never used it.

Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout for the Playstation. Aside from it being created after a crappy anime, the game itself was horrible. The control response was slow, the fighting was slow, the graphics, even for the time were terrible. The only reason anyone had a hardon for the game was because it was Dragonball and it was super rare, at least up until it was re-released in 04.
There was also a terrible vampire game released for the PC. You could pick what clan you had "joined" and it used that to base what powers you could get and use. I could only stand about 15 minutes of it because everything about it was garbage. I think it's a blessing that I can't remember what it was.

E.T. for the Atari aside (my stepfather actually bought that POS for my younger sister, and she's still got her complete set of Atari & cartridges in storage), the worst PC game I ever bought, played, and was disgusted by was Alien Logic: A Skyrealms of Jorune Adventure.
Jorune was a very novel concept in pen/paper RPG when it came out, and I had a buddy run a brief campagn of it that I seriously enjoyed, so when the PC game was released I snapped it up... and got madder than hell when the program included a fatal error (eventually corrected by a patch) that would freeze up (requiring a complete reboot), and the gameplay essentially consisted of three minigames... the combat was just side-scroller... it was a total waste of my $15, and 20+ hours of my life.

My vote is WoW for what it has done to the gaming market and to MMOs in general. WoW has almost single handedly killed any sort of innovation in the MMORPG genre, and I don't see any hope of that changing for the future. Not only that, but the monster that Blizzard has created has started to make its way into other genres and systems, just on the off chance that the makers could get a slice of WoW's market.
