Following on from the email sent out to Premium members last week in regards to purchasing a premium member only server (i.e. a file server that only premium members can use) the new server has been setup and is available from the server selection window when you go to download files.

In the end I decided to settle on purchasing a server from London, UK. I did this for a couple of reasons. Firstly the price:quality ratio of the server is the best of the three providers I use. To do a bit of pumping I use RapidSwitch in the UK, and The Planet and FDC Servers in the US. Similarly RapidSwitch have brilliant connections to both Europe and the US and provide an unparalled amount of bandwidth out of the established providers. My US servers can download files from RapidSwitch at 5mb/second, which is awesome.

Some of you might be interested to know that around 40% of the premium members come from Europe. I was expecting more US users, so while it's true there are more American premium members the figures I received from all your feedback surprised me and spurred me to purchase another UK server. If you're a US member give the new server a go and let me know the results, you might be surprised!

Thank you the members who replied to my email and provided me with that valuable feedback. I hope you put the new file server to good use. And for those of you who have no idea what this whole "Premium Member" thing is, please take the time to take a gander.

It just goes to show that people in the US are cheap - And yes I do live in the US. And I do think my premium membership is worth what I paid.

I think premium membership isn't worth it unless you have a good internet connection, except the fact that you're giving money to a somewhat good cause

just wondering, how does the new premium member only server differ from the 3 original premium member only servers?

The other servers aren't premium-only; they're simply the regular servers without a cap.

I beg to differ, you can not access the uncapped servers unless you are a premium member, so my question still stands.

Edit: Wait, it just came to me, premium members have uncapped access to the servers we all share. The premium member only sever will be distributing bandwidth amongst premium members only.

I'm a premium member for none of the perks. It's quite simple for me: TESNexus (and its predecessors) have easily doubled the value of Oblivion for me. If I was willing to pay for the game, I feel I should be willing to pay for it "again" by donating to a site that helped streamline my modding experiences for the last 23 months (yup, it was March 2006 ... )

So, to those who might not think better download speeds are "worth it", I would ask not what you gain from it, but what you gain from giving to help support your habit.

Oh, and I'm an American.
