In Shivering Isles, the player becomes Sheogorath, Prince of Madness. That's not what I have a problem with; I have a problem with the Oblivion main quest in it's relation, or lack there-of, to Shivering Isles. During the main quest, the player is required to gather the blood of a Daedric Prince. Since that is not readily available, the player must retrieve a Daedric Artifact as a substitution. However, if the player does Shivering Isles first, the blood of a Daedric Prince is readily available: his/hers. So why does the player still have to retrieve a Daedric Artifact? Can't the player just cut him/herself and hand over a bottle of his/her own blood? Wouldn't that suffice? I'm asking this because I'm a collector. I collect things, and my collection would never be complete with only 14 Daedric Artifacts. Normally, I just use the console to spawn an artifact and give it to Martin so I can keep my collection in tack, but I was just thinking that it doesn't make sense for a Daedric Prince to retrieve a Daedric Artifact because he/she needs a sample of Daedric blood. I know the player is the Prince of Madness, but it still doesn't make any sense.
Also, while I'm on the subject of Sheogorath, why does no one outside of the Shivering Isles recognise who the player is? Not even the worshipers at the Shrine of Sheogorath. I went to the shrine, prayed, then Haskill said, "Praying to yourself, my Lord?" yet none of the worshipers seemed to realise just what that meant. They, too, may be insane, but they're not morons. Lastly, when praying at other Daedric shrines or shrines of The Nine, the Daedric Princes/Nine Divines don't seem to care that you're Sheogorath. I would assume that, for example, Azura would be baffled as to why Sheogorath is praying to her, and wouldn't The Nine refuse to bless someone as evil as a Daedric Prince?
