The first stage of voting at the2007 Mod of the Year awards at ModDB is over and it's now into the gritty stage. The contestants have been rounded down to 100 hopeful mods from a range of games. The only Oblivion mod to feature in the list is Nehrim: At Fate's Edge, a total conversion for the game, listed in the "Best upcoming mods" category.

Now, I don't know where I, or the folks on the Nexus forums, have been, but this mod looks pretty damn cool. I'm not a regular at the official forums so this topic might have been beaten to death over there, or it's possible that because the mod is being made by Germans they don't really interact much with the English modding community, either way I hadn't heard of it before today, and it looks like I should have. Shame on all you people for not letting me know.

Anyway, their site is meant to be at www.nehrim.com but the link isn't currently working for me. Either way take a look at their YouTube vid and try to tell me it doesn't look cool without knowing you're a tard.

The project-site www.nehrim.com is not ready yet!

But for information about their game you can visit the teams webseite http://www.sureai.de/. Although its german you should be able to find Nehrims' "gallery" ans "soundtrack"... ;-)

For those who understand German: I really recomment thier two Morrowind-mods "Arktwend" and "Myar Aranath". Both are ecellent TCs!

So just where can you download this MOD as I couldn't find it on nexus

That does look cool! I hope it doesn't require SI, but it probably does. Maybe I should get it after Kragenir's Death Quest is done. ermm.gif

Very nice that the voting is announced here.

The English website will be released soon, although the domain nehrim.com is currently unavailabe for technical reasons. But it will be there again in a few days.

We always try to keep the communication with the international community and not only with the German one, as you can see in the English trailers or our approach in several English forums. There is also a thread in this one, but the last response is a few months old: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=31148&st=0

I can almost guarantee you that this is the same gang who wrote that "Blood and Mud" series of mods for original Oblivion. The style's the same. You see the same sweeping eye for grandiose architecture that far exceeds anything the original developers did with the same set of tools, combined with an edgy sort of "art noir" plotline with highly intriguing but what appears to not necessarily be entirely logical or well-explained plot elements. There was a LOT to enjoy about "Blood and Mud", but I was also left not entirely understanding everything about what exactly I'd played, too, and I don't think that was a language-translation problem.

The SureAI team has nothing to do with the developers of Blood and Mud. Anyway, the actual creater of it, Ryan, helps us a bit in translating, but nothing more smile.gif

Here is a quote from sureai.de about Nehrim:
About Nehrim

Nehrim is a work in progress Total Conversion for the RPG „The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion“. That means it is a self-contained game that bases upon the Oblivion game engine, but has no relation to Oblivion's lore. It is a world in which neither Tamriel nor any other TES based name exists.
The continent itself on which the game is situated is called Nehrim, it is completely independent from the base game.

It is impossible to give a sure release date at this moment, however, we aim to finish Nehrim in 2008. We always keep everything within the bounds of possibility and currently make huge progresses in building the countryside, cities, forests and villages of Nehrim

Our aim is to create a fantasy world which is as lively and atmospheric as realisable in the limits of our possiblilities. We primarily develop Nehrim for those players who love RPGs and were disappointed by Oblivion on that score. Nehrim will be a role playing game with elements of action, no action game with elements of role playing games.

Lookie lookie Nehrim's gonna get sued and perhaps a free cookie, you'd better contact Bethesda before releasing it smile.gif
