Personally I think this update is quite an exciting one. Not only has the upload limit on the site been increased from 50MB to 300MB, but there is also a constantly updated upload meter available for all file uploads. The upload meter shows you how much of the file you have uploaded, how much there is to upload and the percentage of the file that has been uploaded, along with a simple bar display of the progress. I think this is a great improvement on the old system, where no visible display was given of the file progress.

Similarly there is now javascript validation on the upload form that insures that the proper format for filenames has been entered before the file upload begins. Once more, this is a great improvement on the old system where errors were displayed after the file had been uploaded.

There seems to be a glitch on IE7 that means the progress meter and stats are not updated. I can't seem to find a fix for this problem at this time, and would be interested to hear if other browsers are experiencing the same issue. While the stats are not updated your file is still being uploaded, so just hang in there and the upload will complete irrespective of the problem.

In the time old fashion of site updates for TESSource/TESNexus you, the users, are the true beta testers. This is a new feature and I cannot test every hardware and software configuration possible, so please make use of the feedback section of the forums to report problems. Please do not email me as I'm already swamped with emails!
I hope mod authors can put these two updated features to good use.

Very exciting indeed!

As a modeler/texturer who very often comes up with files larger than 50 mb, I'm very, very excited. For Fantasy Figures in particular it's hard to come up with smaller filesizes. This means I can now fully host my Arachnalians here. Thanks, Dark0ne. biggrin.gif

Fantastic additions! Thank you once again.
BlueShiftSolo
Absolutely outstanding! I suppose it may now be possible to actually get a mod uploaded on the same day you finish/package it.

Great news, thank you very much, it was so much problem to split the mod in different parts.

Thank you! Although, now that I have high speed I don't really need the progress meter anymore, it'll halp those of us who are less fortunate (I'm tlaking about the dial-up) losers. I mean, users. Although it's too little too late for me, I'm sure it'll help other uploaders!

Wondrous news Darkone, this should tax the living hell out of my dial up ! ! ! ! But I will have high speed by the end of the year and can kiss this 24k dial up good bye.

As expected patience is being rewarded as nexus keeps on improving for downloader and uploader alike. This one will surely spawn some seriously rich plug-ins (or some f!%*king enormous houses). Its gonna prove in time that the move from 'source was a blessing in disguise. Thx as ever for the vision and the hard graft.

I think I can only now say that I really like the nexus better than TESSource.

The 300Mb limit is a great bonus over the original! Unfortunately I just tried to upload my first file to the site (it's a 298Mb .7z) and got the following message after nearly hours:

Division by zero in /home/tes/public_html/members/upload/getprogress2.php on line 4

The upload bar was working fine in Firefox up until that point though. smile.gif I don't seem able to re-upload it because the submit form now thinks there's already a DB entry with that name "Tamrielx2". So I'll try again with a slightly different name permutation instead. Thanks ...

If the progress meter gives that error but the page still shows as "loading" then it's more than likely that the upload is still running and, simply, the script that shows the progress had a hickup. If it happens again leave it running as long as possible and see if it completes the upload.

Thanks DarkOne - I already did that the second time I got the error since there was obviously still a lot of network traffic going on - and it uploaded fine in the end, so just a bit confusing that's all. Many thanks. smile.gif

Wow when you improve some thing you do it right. This will be very helpful for users who don't feel comfortable with splitting up their big files and now Monster mods like Quarles texture pack III can be hosted on the great NeXuS in all their glory.

A progress meter makes it just perfect. No more opening my firewall GUI just to see how my upload is going. I haven't needed to upload anything yet but I might consolidate U-L omodss part 1 07-28-07 and UL OMODs part 2 05-30-07 into one file now.

Thanks, as always, for the great work.

Great news, now more modders can begin to host their files here!
