As I'm sure many regulars know Bethesda's last official plugin for Oblivion has now been released, and for this week only it is
available to download for free. This is a great gesture from Bethesda and I hope people respect it as such.
As it mentions on the download page please do not upload this file to TES Nexus, or any site for that matter.

I'm glad BethSoft finally decided to give us fighters a place we can really call home - and it's free for a week (well, 6 days, but that's close enough

) I already d/led it, and it's perfect for the sort of character I always play as. It's also situated in an area that I actually would've built my own castle, had I been more skilled at setting up a house mod.

Downloaded it now. It's just over 10 megs and I got it at a super fast speed. Looks great, I recommend players take advantage of this opportunity.

Very nice that the big B gave this to us free, but it struck me as a little bland. I guess I'm just too spoiled on modded houses.

and is it behind the mountains? even in the west of chorrol?or is it near fort rayles cuz i cant found it!!!!!!!and do i hav to do all main quests before i get it?

I think this is indeed a superb mod, with a fabulous castle, and, as you stated, a great gesture from Bethesda, which should be applauded.
With one exception.
I found the maid to have appalling manners! The moment she dared utter to me "oh, it's you" in that droning voice, I thought to myself "that maid needs a jolly good..."
And then my thoughts turned to you! Not to you in person, I hasten to add, but to the superb community and following you have generated here over the years, and especially to all those who have spent so much time designing and sharing their mods.
In particular, my thoughts turned to finding a good way in which we could all collectively doff our caps back at Bethesda, and which in the process, would also (probably) benefit you.
And the result of my musings? Well, what I came up with was that you should launch a competition to see who can come up with the best mod (as voted for by your members and visitors of course) and call it "The Teach the Maid Some Manners Mod"!
Obviously all qualifying entries should be vaguely decent, but I am sure you will agree, the possibilities here are phenomenal.
Prizes could be... I don't know, TES Nexus T-shirts? A premium membership or two? I'm sure you have better ideas.
And of course once we have a clear winner, you can proudly go back to Bethesda and confidently boom "Here, look at what the proud, up-standing members of our community have produced in your honour! We salute you!"
Or something like that.
So... what do you think?
Is this a goer?
I mean if the mod is particularly good... it could potentially open a few doors for the creators!
Okay, enough for now. I shall leave it to you and to those on this site to comment on this.

I have to thank them for letting it out free for a bit.
But I cant help but think that the peeps over there could really benefit with a bit of time on the Mods sites because it doesn't measure up to many mods on this site. Maybe they should employ some new talent, some of the guys around here probley know more about the CS than most of them there lol.
I for one hope that the reason this was so bland is because they are hard at work for an expansion with new races and equipment that is a worthy follow up to the best game ever. There are a lot of empty maps space still.

If you haven't actiavted the mod then do so. If you have then there should be a big huge jass arrow pointing right where you are meant to go. Just follow like you have been for the rest of the game.

It's probably conflicting with one of your other mods (if you have any installed). Try turning them all off except the Fighters stronghold, and trying it again.
I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I'm going to install Windows tomorrow, which means I can install Oblivion, which means I can play it!

Unless you have brought into your save game an object only found in the new mod you will not get a warning about such objects not existing. If you haven't found the castle, you can't have any of its objects, so you won't get a warning.
Did you get the initial screen telling you about the castle when you started the game with the mod added? This is what sets it up including the map marker. If that is missing it must be a mod conflict.
If you did get that screen it may be a conflict that prevents the map marker from showing up. The castle is on the Black Road west of Chorrol so follow that road. If you get to the end without finding it, it is probably mod conflict.

Your character is irrelevant. You can be anything you like. The mod will still show up right at the beginning of the game or at any time you load a game once the mod is activated. If the mod is checked as active in data files but the castle does not show up at the end of the Black Road west of Chorrol, there must be a conflict. You need not turn off all mods but a few at a time until you can work out which one is the problem.

I have turned off all mods but doesnt work and i have deleted the fighters stronghold and downloaded it again but doesnt work!?Is it normal that it activates it self when u have installed it?Because when i install it and look the data files it should be activated because the cross in the little box?And should it load a packed file?Or could someone tell me how you have been loaded it and made it work?If i do something wrong?

Download it to whatever file you use to save stuff in then click on it in that file. It will install itself into your Oblivion directory and automatically click itself as active. Unless you specifically turn it off in the data files it will be there. I can see no reason why you should be having problems unless somehow the mod was corrupted or interrupted during download/set up. Try removing it altogether and downloading it again. You can manually uninstall it I believe or simply delete it from the the data files (Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data Files) - it looks a bit like a part-opened red handled pen knife. Make sure you delete the right one!

I got this working, and I found a secret. If you guys want to find it yourself, don't read anymore.
In the training room in the basement, there's a secret path behind the bow training area. To get into it, activate the last candle on the right. When you get in, activate the pillar and go in. Inside are a few varla stones, plus a skeleton and a lich. The skeleton is the lord which the previous owner's ancestors were waiting for, but he never came. The lich has something to do with Mannimarco, but I haven't figured out the connection yet.

Thanks for letting me know its on rapidshare. I was late to download it for free, so I bought it and I think the file was corrupt. It wouldn't install correctly for some reason. I was really getting pissed and then I check the comments and saw the link and downloaded it from rapidshare and it worked perfectly fine. Thanks again. I guess pirated files help sometimes, even when people (like me) pay for the things they want.
