Chorrol

Skingrad

Kvatch

Anvil

Bruma

Cheydinhal

Bravil

Leyawin

My favorite is SKingrad, just because I like a lot of the architecture. The one I think is prettiest is Anvil. The one I most recently visit is the IC.
sdoplatinum
actually my favorite town is Aleswell (not sure how it's spelled) although it's only a settlement.
TonyHahn
For me, Anvil is the place to be... You have a relatively easy recommendation for the Mages Guild and you have two easy quests for the Fighter's Guild. Also the town is full of trainers! This makes it easier to help out your character in for both the primary and the secondary skill sets. You also several other quests that are mostly straightforward to complete as well. Then , you also do have all that great views ! biggrin.gif
Dark0ne
I like Cheydinhal the best. Prefer the architecture, like the wilderness surroundings and it's the central DB area of the game.
subzerus
Myself, it's Bruma. with it being ungodly hot outside, the snowfall is a welcome reminder of cool weather and no better place than Bruma to get a Slushie happy.gif
}{ellKnight
Difficult question that one!
I love Bruma for it's feel and the house for sale is nice (it's not huge but it's very cozy). You're close to Cloud Ruler Temple and to Frostcrag Spire (although I play an assassin I like Frostcrag more than the Vile Lair because it has an awsome architecture).
But I also like the Imperial City. When I first played the game I wandered around the Imperial City for hours (real-life hours) just to check out the districts, shops, taverns, the palace and meet a lot of people. I was trully amazed by the general feel of the IC, it really looked like the busy capital city that it's supposed to be.
All the cities have a unique feeling that makes them different from the others and I love all of them!
Fritz Derochebruen
Chorrol.

This was the first city I visited in the game. I've spend a lot of time in the streets, shops and taverns. I think really has a perfect lay-out. I like the huge amout of space, the beautiful houses and also the way the castle is located: on the top of a hill, overlooking the city.

I used Chorrol as a base of operations for a long time. I spend hours wandering in the forests and mountens,... ah, the good old times...

Of all the cities I've been to, I'd have to say that it's hard to choose. I mostly like Chorrol, since it's not as rich a city as Skingrad (although Rosethorn Hall does allow me to put my treasures on display wink.gif ), and I enjoy the scenery and surrounding wilderness. While the West Weald does have its beauty, as does the Gold Coast, Blackwood, the Nibenay Basin, and the Jerall and Valus mountain ranges, the Great Forest stands out even more so than the rest of Cyrodiil.

If Kvatch wasn't destroyed, I'd move there in a heart beat. I myself happen to live not far from Alberta's "badlands" (simply put, Dinosaur Provincial Park is quite astonishing for any tourist to see biggrin.gif ). Other than that, the whole of Cyrodiil is very beutiful if I say so myself happy.gif
Deadra Hircine
I LOVE Cheydinhal. It got beautifull architecutre happy.gif. The DBS is also a good think in that city. And I jump from row to row there. In the begining it was just acro training. But then i found out that it was the best way to assassinate anybody biggrin.gif.
ItWotBeSoonBeforeLong
Cheydinhal for three reasons. The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary is there. The architecture. And,last but not least the townsfolk. Ialso like the Watterfront.
kj101
Mine is Bruma cause I like the white snow over the wood building and also the view is great.
CaptCombat
For me it has to be Kvatch. If it wasn't destroyed, it would truly be a beautiful city. Bethesda should make a mod, so that after awhile Kvatch would be restored and beautiful. Kvatch has a very nice layout and castle. It just saddens me that they destroyed Kvatch. When I walked through there for the first time I was like "Why? Why?" I wandered through there for awhile after I finished killing all the daedra. It actually is a pretty cool place if you could imagine how it looked before it got destroyed. A suggestion from me is downloading that mod that makes Kvatch "not dead".
Blizzardream
I kind of like different bits of each of the towns.
I like the way the buildings are built into the walls in the IC.
I like the way Skingrad feels so crowded and claustrophobic. With the way the buildings lean over the streets.
I like the Anvil architecture, esp. the roofs.
I like the way Bruma is staggered, and that it is all wintry.
I like the way Bravil is all treehouse-shanty town multistoried the way it is.
I like the Leyawiin architecture, esp. the interiors and stairs.
I like the pointy-spire-y-ness of the Cheydinhaal style buildings.
I like the middle class Chorrol buildings.

I also liked the sheogorath quest khajiit village.
Fire Elf
Let's see... Cheydinhal and Anvil had the best architechture, but the imperial city was the best, as there are all these good shops and everything, and is the only decent-sized city in the game. (ll the other feel much smaller then the ones in Morrowind)
Cerebellenor
Bravil has a lot of conveniences - lots of merchants, a flirting fence, ol' lucky lady for a quick atronach mana fill, a restoration trainer, SI portal nearby, etc.
OblivionStalker
I like Anvil.

The architecture, the smell of the ocean, also lots of trainers, really nice tree in the center of the city, nice house to buy and a nice temple.
Shadowmer
My favourite town is Skingrad because I find it the most medieval-like - Glarthir is its only disadvantage maybe...
Elder III
Anvil would have to be my fave. It's been my main char's base of operations since about lvl 6 (long time ago) and even if not, I'd have to keep it #1 for the spacious streets, the homes/shops architecture, the nice "Docks" area witht eh ships and lighthouse, view of the sea, etc... I'd choose Bruma second, for the Nords and the Snow (my favorite race ingame, and my favorite time of year). smile.gif
GazzaGuru
Chorrol for me too. Again, first major place visited when everything was a wonder...
I remember my first trepidatious steps along the path! Then, lots of quests with excursions
to the outlying areas followed with the contrast of the castle quest!
Malchik
Bravil - it is so squalid. One massive open sewer over which has been built a gigantic brothel come druggers paradise. Now, in the real world, I'd hate it. But in a fantasy...

Nordinor has everything one needs for a good gaming experience!
Marre_pro
I'd say bruma or IC , I love bruma because it's cozy and i love The snow landscape in general.
I love IC because it's in general a big funky city with everything you need. I also love it because of the gigantic sewer system for the evil kind of character
The_Trekkie
Cheydenhal = Instant Win

I agree. Kvatch would've been awesome.
GeorgeGeorgeGeorge
I have to say that my favourite town in the whole of cyrodiil has got to be... Kvatch...
Well once you have moved all of the burnt down houses and put out all the fires... rolleyes.gif
Ddeatth
I chose Bravil. I love jumping along the roofs in the middle of the night, in my black hand robes. So many perfect ambush spots. So many trashy people to kill.
The Hippie
although its the home of the man i have to say the ic if there was an arena any where else it would be there other than that chorral
PowLee
My favorite town is definately Anvil. I just felt right at home when I entered the gate the first time. It's especially nice to live there since I have a mod house close to the docks and the views are just breath-taking during sunset. Plus, Anvil's got some nice hunting grounds right next to it.

But every town/city has its own thing that draws you in. Right now I'm living in Bravil which, at first, doesn't seem all that great a town to live in, but IMO that's the beauty of Bravil. I like walking around the town at midnight when you can barely see a thing (Natural Environments+darker nights mod) without a torch. The light of the fire just reflects beautifully from the walls of the wooden shacks, revealing the local beggars and drunks sleeping in their bedrolls on my way to meet my skooma dealer next to The Fair Deal.
Limey6587
My favorite city? Leyawiin. Though I must say I really don't know why, I just feel at home there for some reason.
3ernardo
For me Leyawin is the best town...
It's architecture is the best in my opinion.
bboymasochist
Skingrad potentially is my favorite town, due to it being the most immersive. The claustrophobia, the sheer feel of authoritative power when wandering the streets. Unfortunately, the absolute lack of things to do kills Skingrad for me. I wish there were more things to do in Skingrad.

Then Anvil comes next, Anvil is the picture-perfect town, and it can serve as a base for operations, but I personally don't feel the role-playing immersion in Anvil for some unexplained reason.

Then there's Kvatch, but that place is in flames, so...

Leaving the Imperial City. biggrin.gif

What about least-favorites?

I extremely dislike Bravil and Leyawin. Ewww!
zeus6sic6
the rest of u guys might be homos and say stuff like "i love the architecture" or "the wilderness is so pretty".......right. for the normal folk i say this, skingrad is best as it offers some of the most fun sniping positions. 1 shot, 1 kill

Too bad nothing happens in Skingrad. tongue.gif

i gotta say my favourite is skingrad because its so funny to hise in balconies, then shoot people...next has to be anvil because punching people into the docks and drowning them is funny ph34r.gif excl.gif

Pow Lee's post removed. One liner spam. Please read the rules before posting, thanks. ^^

Also, zeus... homos, right. That's borderline trolling whether you're being tongue-in-cheek or not. Please don't go around saying people are homos just because they have a slightly deeper opinion of a game other than "zomg snipe". wink.gif
Stanhead
My favourite is Chorrol, but I've barely spent any time in Skingrad, so maybe Skingrad will grow on me if I visit it again.

My least favourite is Cheydinhal, because I think the architecture is ugly.
shadow sun
i personally think that the best is the IC cos' of all the quests, shops, people and extras (such as the arena).

but my favourite for architechure is bravil, although it looks a bit shabby, has rubbish quests and is full of skooma addicts...
... it has all those jumps, ledges and raised platforms, aswell as flat(ish..) roofs which are all great for thieves and DB members ph34r.gif
cavilier210
my fav city is anvil, for the docks, and if u get the mod that expands the docks, it looks even better
niraxA
It's Chorrol for me. Though my characters tend to be wanderers who never truly settle anywhere, Chorrol always feels like home. The close proximity of the Great Forest is a big plus too.
Marre_pro
Man...I just love every city except for cheydinhal , i hate that place , the archi , the people ,Tho love the drug gangs ;P
I think i love imperial city because of the massive sewer system , perfect for vampires.
Bruma because It's cozy and i kind of like the archi as well and the snow landscape.
Leyawiin because it's a nice city i guess. Nothin special there.
Bravil because it's a pefect paradise for a drug dealer like me.
Chorrol because it mainly kicks ass , I just love it.
Skingrad is alright , Rich bastards but still.
Anvil because i dunno...It's a cool city because of the docks and it's pretty good weather there.
Kvatch would kick ass i think , But i think if the attack never happened and it would be just like any other town , tho annother arena would be nice
floggingmolly22
I would have to say Anvil. It's small, but it contains a lot of short quests and a lot of trainers.
happy.gif
For architecture (probably spelled it wrong) I would have to say Skingrad.
Eolath
Anvil for sure, nice harbour and it's a rich and pretty city wink.gif
Skingrad looks cool too though.
prometheos
Anvil works for me on so many levels. It's serene beauty is encapsulated by the mini-vignette of an artist painting the light-house. The guards are competant and one quest reinforces the idea that criminal antics will be dealt with. In fact, even with the criminal element at the waterfront, one still gets the feeling that it's safe to walk the streets at night. Anvil is also a busy nexus of quests; numerous Fighters Guild contracts, a Mages Guild quest, a Thieves Guild quest, along with a town guard quest and Newheim the Portly's quest. The Knights of the Nine expansion also begins in Anvil, as well as the Smuggler's Cave ( Dunbarrow Cove ). But one reason I'm so fond of Anvil, is because it was the site of my first home. At 5000 septims, how could I refuse? Benirus Manor is roomy - it has massive substructure, that all the loot of the world can be dumped into and there is still room for more!
However, Anvil also represents hope. Even after the devastation of Kvatch, the town of Anvil still looks to the sea, to the future, to the West. There is no remorse in Anvil, and there is no fear. It is a town filled with common sense people that know how to do things, and know how to get things done. The Thieves Guild finale also shows that there is time for love. I would choose Anvil over the wealth of Leyawiin, the decay of Bravil, the corruption of Cheydinhal, the racism of Chorrol, the brutality of Bruma, the destruction of Kvatch, the oppression of Skingrad, and the superiority of the Imperial City. If it was real life, my friends, then I'd be home.biggrin.gif
Heretic666
Personally I dont have a favourite town, I would vote if you got truely breathtaking towns/cities like a massive floating city similar 2 the 1 in FF8 (or is it 7?) u know the kind like u step out-side a building and your met with a vast expanse of cloudless sky above a still sea with only the sunset in the distance (srry thats my poetic side poking through again!!) or something equally as breathtaking, so no... until somebody mod's or bethesda hurry's up with developing another expansion pack full of shivering isle-esque content i would rather stay camped atop the jerall mountains than visit towns.
Black_Fire
I think the best town is Skingrad because of the architecture and how u can buy the biggest house in the game,If only u could buy a very nice, big house in the IC angry.gif
Mikel428
For me it would have to be Bruma because (and i know this may sound Selfish) it reminds me of Canada, my home country, and its been so unbelevably hot recently that i cant wait till the winter comes tongue.gif
sume2002
My favourite town is Skingrad. A beautiful town that's peaceful by looks, but contains crazy things like undead house, paranoid bosmer, the count ,etc. Nonetheless, it just feels good to walk around the city and watching people work in its famous vineyards. Skingrad is also the hometown of Surille brothers and Tamika. You should have heard those names happy.gif

Although I envy Anvil's ocean, it cannot be compared to beautiful nature of Skingrad.
jeefey
Kvatch as long as im using the kvach aftermath mod. biggrin.gif
Brainjuice
Well, bruma, with its snowy landscape, the viking-ish look of the architecture. There are some priceless quests too, like the one for the Dark brotherhood. I like Skingrad too, just because of that claustrophobic feeling.

I've to say that i dislike Cheydinnal, it looks too familiar and unoriginal...
gamemaster79
Personally I like Cheydinhal because of the "Elvish" influence on the architecture, and I also like Chorrol because of the medieval architecture.
