Hi, this is a revised edition.

As the last garnered no responses, I thought it best to post again, less technically.

If it were a choice between, and it had to be AGP 8x these two graphics cards, which would you choose?
ie: is the price difference worth the sacrifice. (I can easily afford both)
Please answer even if you have no idea, just for an opinion.

Gainward Geforce 7600GT $228 (AUD)
- DDR3
- 256MB
- 12 Pixel pipelines
- 128 bit
- Memory Clockspeed 1.4GHz
- GPU Clockspeed 560MHz

Gigabyte Geforce 7600GS $184 (AUD)
- DDR2
- 256MB
- 12 Pixel Pipelines
- 128 bit
- Memory Clockspeed 800MHz
- GPU Clockspeed 400MHz

I must say I am leaning towards the GT.

My system:

CPU
- Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
RAM
- 2GB
Graphics Card (Current)
- Geforce FX 5200

i would go with the 7600gt card myself, it is a good card, low power requirement and low heat, not like the monster cards today.

in my opinion though games today are demanding, if its possible buy a 7800GS or find a used one on ebay. I have this card before and it can play oblivion at 90% max graphic. If you do get this card make sure your psu is atleast 500watt or that you don't have too much component in the computer.

Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the opinion.

I have decided to go with the 7600GT.

You suggested getting a 500W PSU, which type would you suggest considering I am running a P4P 800S M/B
Details can be seen here: P4P 800S Motherboard

Are there any on this site that you would consider, I don't know much when it comes to PSUs, I have never bought a new one before, just used the one that came with whatever PC I got.

Again, thanks for the reply.

Would a 430W PSU do it?
My System: (Current)
Motherboard: ASUS P4P 800S
RAM: 2GB DDR
GPU: Gainward 7600GT 256MB DDR3 (ask me for more, if required)
CPU: Pentium 4 2.8GHz

In that case your system can run it. Like I said the 7600gt is low heat and low power requirement.

Thanks a lot for that. Nice to know that everything will work, without more searching for new components.
