Heard SmidsY is playing again... i'm to busy with my study and the intens lack of video card hampers my play (my video card broke down...)

What is up with the insane loading time???? I click on a server and then watch some TV just to pass the time until it gets done loading and verifying i have fast internet but its just crazy!!

the "verifying" is done pretty fast, but it is alsos caching the map, so if your hard disk is slow, the loading time will take long (or something like that, i'm no techy, but it doesn't depend on your internet connection)

Here's something to make a few people scream heresy. The only time I ever played BF2 was when a local magazine gave us the demo.

Not since I started having children. I found that I needed to have a pause button every 5 to 10 minutes which is not possible for an online game like this...especially when it can take 15 minutes just to get into position to start making headway.

I've been relegated to single-player games (mostly strategy) because of this (which all have pause buttons).

I had the most fun playing the 1st one with the overhaul mod that added current-age tanks and even managed to get helicopters working! I forget the name now but that was one heck of a mod.

I just started playing online. Tons of ppl still play and I'm having a blast so far. 'course you've always got the crybabies there that get upset 'cause someone else doesn't spend as much time harnessing their nerd skills as they do. But, it's still fun if you can ignore the kids. hehe

Jeez - does this make us BF2 Nerds cos our kill/death ratio is higher than 10:1?

Nope, I play the best mod for BF2. Its called Project Reality. You get shot you bleed out. Everything is godly realistic!

Are there many servers that use the project reality mod for online play? Particularily, for infantry only. Anyway, I was just wondering how the game decides if you are ready for veteran or expert level badges. Does it just go by the number of kills you get???

I still play a lot. If I'm not playing Oblivion I'm probably playing Battlefield.

I play BF2 sometimes when I get bored. Not on the online servers anymore, because I have mods which I couldn't be bothered to remove. I was pretty good in multiplayer, but then I discovered I could play 64 size maps on singleplayer with heaps of bots.
