ahh you beat me too it, it would be well dodgy, what if you were playing and a 'buy the paris hilton video' ad pops up on some billboard, just because you were searching for that filth the night before lol.
Def will not be buying this now, ingame advertsing i dont mind, but watching my online habits is a big no no (that is no addmission to searching for hilton vids ;o) )

You can set a user up to not be able to access a drive, or to only be able to access certain areas of the drive, correct? As long as there's no requirement that this component be allowed unfettered access, it should be possible to prevent it from gathering any useful data. Better yet, you *might* be able to set things up so that you get specific ads...

However, I don't see why they can't just sell placement to an advertiser for a given period of time. That seems to work fine for the internet...
