Right i am all out of answers.

Got a E6600 Conroe
X1900XT
2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2
Abit Aw9D Max

And i cant any game!

I'am lead to believe its the dual core causing what is known as the "Benny Hill Effect" but whatever i try, bollox all works.

New drivers, only selecting one core, you name it nothing works.

Sooooooooooooooo. Any of you lot know?

I think somebody is trying to give me more credit that properly due laugh.gif But i'll give a try

- Wat OS are u using? I presume XP with SP2 and all updates
- You installed alle latest drivers (DirectX, Catalyst, Intel INF etc.)
- The rig does your regular stuff normally (basic office/internet work) and only games suffer the "benny hill effect"?
- Do benchmarks perform well (3Dmark), or are the like the games, not very happy?
- You are sure you are using the latest bios version availebly for the abit?
- The mem u used is on the compatibility list of abit?
- Setting the bios that only one core is used (and HT support disabled) isn't a solution?
- Is you PSU of sufficient capacity? (Dual core, X1900XT, mem and other hardware nowadays are real power guzzlers)

That would be the next thing i would suggest, use memtestx86 or a simular tool to test your memory.
But glad to hear you can get back onto the battlefield
