Depends, on what you exactly want, and what your budget is. But trust me, whatever laptop you get, make an HDD upgrade to at least 7200Rpm (most are standard 4200rpm/5400rpm, okay battery wont last as long, but it really makes a difference) and get a laptop with a "real" GPU (ati/nvidia), no-onboard chipset stuff (Sis/Intel)

Depends on how much you wanna spend is the obvious answer.

Top end is prob savrow

in between you got rock, alienware etc

And maybe you could have at what compaq, acer etc have to offer.

edit

And where the hell you been?!!

I'm considering buying a Rock next time - http://www.rockdirect.com/viewNotebook.php...EME%20CTX%20PRO

Check out the 7900GTX card... Smidsy's right, get a 7400rpm hard drive, otherwise load times are slow with the 4200rpm. 5400rpm is ok.

The other mainstream, okay priced laptops for gamaing are from Dell. You can get a Nvidea 7900 for a Insprion 9400.

My next laptop will probably be a Dell or Rock.

Good luck!

Hi again

My addiction to battlefield means that I will spend silly money each year on a setup. But the reson I have not been able to play BF2 is because I sold my machine and my girlfriend was just nagging all the time. Good to see your all still involved. Mogambo I have two new recruits but dont know if GS is still running.

So LAPTOPS. On ebuyer I saw the HP nx6325 which was 1.8ghz 512 ram but dont know the GPU. this was £400. I have had look at alienware and rock and savrow. Lovely but I would have to sell my arse to afford one ohmy.gif

So as I spent £700 on a agp system that ran it well I thought maybe a Laptop between £400 - £600

Would they work with BF2 is the question, well without testing them me and my friend might have to buy pc's just because of the risk that they run like mules when playing.

Would something like this run BF2 ?

Holy poo, thats a tight budget for a gaming laptop - If I was stuck with £600, i'd get a Dell 6400 with the following spec -

A bit entry level, but should run BF2 okay. Try and sting your boss or another couple hundred quid and add to it (Dual Core 2 CPU), 7400rpm drive etc...

I think the GS server still has a cuple of weeks to go, but Its hardly ever populated sad.gif

Cheers,

Can this be for real? I have researched this for 4 hours for my mate and maybe me. This specs look good but from such a WACK SUPPLIER could this be the deal of the century. compaired to Rock, Alienware and Savrow the price is good.

Now the ones that come close to this is a sony vaio, Dell that MadAnt suggested (one up from the £600 one)and a Rock laptop (low spec) All come in around about £800- £900. What I don't get is even Toshiba dont have the laptop below on there website anywhere. Has the Pc world chain (dixons, currys so on) all gone mad, over bought stock, the laptop has been recalled?, or this is a deal of the century. yes the A100 range did have reports of recall (ie battery and ram) but the A100-920 T5500 is not mentioned. God im going mad here wacko.gif

Can anyone explain this weird mistery (Toshiba doesn't seem to know its own Latop lol) ?????????????????????????????????????????

This will run BF2 okay. Nice to get a Core 2 Duo (not the Core Duo). Personally I'd spec up the dell by another couple ton.
