Synthesis.net have posted a new article entitled "From the Primordial Soup". It talks a little about Spore - the basics and such. There's no real new information. It still makes for a read though.

Also, apparently Ken Perlin, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Director of the Media Research Laboratory at New York University, is going to be doing a keynote speech at FuturePlay 2006. He's been consulting with Will Wright on Spore recently. Knowing keynote speeches, this probably doesn't mean he's going to reveal anything about the game itself at FuturePlay - but who knows!
