this is where everybody describes what kind of creature they are going to make, and give some background on your creature. here's mine

The Thyrrek

Thyrenius Priminus

Habitat: The Thyrreks are warlike creatures, they live in the harsh rainforests of Dargith. They make dwellings out of mud, and the bones of their prey, and fellow Thyrreks.

food: The Thyrreks eat small reptiles, and their slightly smaller cousins, the Kulons.

Background:In the Thyrrek society, the women are treated poorly. There is only four women in a tribe at a time, all female babies are killed unless one of the women has died. The Thyrreks are often at war with their cousins, the Kulons. The Thyrreks being larger, faster, and stronger, prey on their smaller, slower enemies. The only thing keeping the Kulons from being completely wiped out from the savage Thyrreks, is the Kulons breeding, a Kulon woman is respected, and has around 11 babies every two months. The Thyrreks, altho strong, and massive they are also of reasonable intelligence. They construct massive walls, consisted, of the interlocked bones of their dead, with every death in the tribe the wall gets bigger and bigger, giving great protection to their society. They are also cannibals, if a Thyrrekian soldier comes home wounded, the smell of it's blood will drive the others mad, until they swoop in on the soldier, and eat it alive. The Thyrrekians are renowned for there brutal, genius tactics in war.

Description:The common Thyrrekian male averages about 7 feet and 4 inches, and 680 pounds. They use no weapons, for their forearms hav massive spikes that average, about 6 feet long, the spike is serrated, and lined with poison. They are covered with scales from head to toe, and have a backwards horn in their forehead. They have red eyes, and a mouth with 3 lines of 3 inch serrated teeth. They have spiked tails that average about 3 feet long. They have two hearts, three lungs, and one massive stomach. They have two feet that average about a foot long, they have 5 toes, each equiped with a talon, 4 inches long. There arms hav about 37% of it's muscle mass, While it's upper body has 43%, it's legs have 14%, and it's lower body has about 6%. The Thyrrekian female averages about 4 feet and 10 inches, and lack the spikes, and the horn, and have only two lines of teeth. The males are superior in strength and size, but the females are quick and very smart.

alright let's hear yours biggrin.gif

Wow, you've really been thinking hard about this. ^^ Personally I haven't put that much thought into my creatures yet - I think I'll go with the flow when the game is actually released... especially as there are bound to be gameplay tweaks and stuff between now and the release. They've been threatening to get rid of underwater creatures, for instance... that's a pretty big cut.

yah I have a overactive imagination so things like that are easy to make up on the spot.

no underwater creatures!!! how will I be able to do my Ornith Serpent!
ADEPT2
I think mine will be like a scorpian(sry cant spell). Man hope they dont scrap underwater creatures thats just dissapointing

like a scorpion? can you be a little more specific, what kind of scorpion, what colour, where does it live, etc.
WarKirby3333
It would be most upsetting if underwater creatures were removed.

Anyway. I plan to create a bipedal, omnivorous, highly intelligent race. Like humans, but with 4 arms. And huge muscles. And a tail.

I think 4 armed bipeds look incredibly cool. Witness Prince Goro of Mortal Kombat fame. He doesn't have a tail, but is otherwise fairly close to my perfect race

Indeed you sure put alot of though in that Vulture.

I dont know what I would create. Im thinking of a bloody predator, but thats about everything I have in mind right now. A four legged creature with wings, preferably black color, red eyes, and a mean set of teeth.
CJD
when I get bored of my Thyrrekians, I will try to build a minotaur. and try and rebuild the Minotaur empire in Dragonlance.
RedPlague
I'm thinking of a cross between a Opistophthalmus adustus scorpion and a gorilla. Very large and strong with a thick carapace armoring their entire body. A scorpion lower body with a long, thin non venomous tail and a gorilla upper body with two sets of arms. Upper set would similar a normal gorillas for dexterity and item manipulation, while the lower set would be a set of broad and deadly pincers. Intelligence would be comparable to a gorilla. Now there's a killing machine!

Probably would live in the desert or other arid wide open landscapes as their size would hinder movement in forests, jungles and swamps.

Food would be anything smaller than them that they can catch.

tribal society, the strongest hunters and warriors usually leading the tribe. Distrusting of most other tribes, forging temporary alliances only when absolutely necessary.
CJD
now that sounds cool, I would really like to see that in-game. biggrin.gif
RedPlague
In-game yes, seeing a monster like that in person would give anyone nightmares...if they lived.
Corw1n
Id have something with the bottom half as a snake(if they dont trash underwater) and the upper half of a human
kinda medusa-like(ish?) but with 2 sets of small wings(not really for flying long distances, more of getting the jump on the prey) 4 stalks of eyes to watch all lateral directions at once, two arms with with hands that have fingers ending in claws

if they trash water(hope not, that would be uncool) replace the snake body with quadroped basic structure, with scales

*EDIT:
meant to add but kinda obvious that its gonna be carniverous, with a warlike society

Eww, wasn't this thread burried, dead, and rotting?

I'm personally planning to hex myself unlimited genetic points, breeze through all the phases, then spend a week going down the list of every Sci-Fi creature I can think of, and beat hundreds of geeks to the punch. Or whatever else I can think of at the time.
Corw1n
yikes i forgot to check the dates on the posts, thats my fault
in my defense i only discovered Spore in the last week and i didnt realise that the forum i use for Oblivion also had a spore section, so call it luser error

is hex hard to learn?, cuz that sounds like a nice "well i dont wanna get involved with my creatures right now, lets try this" activity

I'm probably going to do some really weird ones, and later some that look like Morrowind creatures (as far as that's possible).

Pov said it. biggrin.gif I've decided necromancy rules don't really apply here for now, unless you outright spam old threads or something... not until the place becomes more active at least. ^^; Besides, even in the rest of the forum that post wouldn't really count as necromancy... it has content and helped to revive discussion.
CJD
and besides, no saying eww at my thread.
Tiberiu911
Hehe, I would expect these forums to get more popular after the game release.

I am really looking forward to creature creation! It is one of the most original things I have ever seen in a video game. I am probally going to make lots of grotesque, weird and bizzare things, as well as a couple of mad predators. Can't really tell until I tried it out.

I don't think sea creatures are still in. But you never know...

I would make a bipedial reptillian creature; short, cranky, but very, very smart. They'd be religous; decorating themselves with beads and tattoos, and worshiping their god with devoutness comparable to the zealots of the middle ages. While a lone creature wouldn't stand a chance against a gorilla/scorpion or ravaneous shark, their saving grace would be their elusiveness and cleverness. If you tried to attack one of thier cities, you would find it trapped but empty, for if there is anything my creatures hate more than athiests, its being outmatched in a fight. My creatures would look right past gender differences, unable to comprehend the inefficiency of discrimination. They also are fans of the fine arts, because training for a fight is out of the question for most of my creatures. They're housing is small and efficient, with the community centre being much more impotant than in most societies. Their vehicles-not suprisingly-would be mainly diplomatic with fireworks and parades accompying all of them. They would make sure their allies are fighting all their wars for them. In the Galactic game, their intellectual edge has grown less effective as other races shorten the I.Q gap. Instead, they would use a knack for buisness to create a monopoly on as many natural resources as possible. They would also not be afraid to lay low when it dawns on other races that one could conquer one of my creature's cities and suffer one, maybe two casualties at the most. My creatures will return though, because while they might not have pride and courage, they do have a detrmination fiercer than anything the human race has yet to muster so far.

So theres my creature. Like it ? Dislike it? Think your creature has what it takes to be thier God? Can you think of a name for them? (they really need one)

Please reply before before Spore comes out.

God: Cthulhu? tongue.gif

My creatures will be modeled after deep ones:

QUOTE

I think their predominant colour was a greyish-green, though they had white bellies. They were mostly shiny and slippery, but the ridges of their backs were scaly. Their forms vaguely suggested the anthropoid, while their heads were the heads of fish, with prodigious bulging eyes that never closed. At the sides of their necks were palpitating gills, and their long paws were webbed. They hopped irregularly, sometimes on two legs and sometimes on four. I was somehow glad that they had no more than four limbs. Their croaking, baying voices, clearly used for articulate speech, held all the dark shades of expression which their staring faces lacked.

The Shadow Over Innsmouth

QUOTE

Father Dagon and Mother Hydra
Father Dagon and Mother Hydra are both minor Great Old Ones; though it is possible that they are merely Deep Ones that have grown abnormally large. Together with Cthulhu, they form the triad of gods worshipped by the Deep Ones.

wikipedia

My deep ones will be very religious and worship their triad of gods: Cthulhu, Father Dagon, and Mother Hydra.

They will be very reclusive and stay only in their town of Innmouth, but if attacked, they will be quite vicious and mercilessly kill the attacker. Whether they're men, women, children, the deep ones won't care. They also won't be very intelligent, stupid even.

I hope they keep underwater monsters...the deep ones would be the same otherwise.

You could also have your god as Chuck Norris biggrin.gif Maybe a dyad god worship between them both!

I do like your monsters they seen original...(I haven't actually read this whole thread, so, maybe not, lol). I would have no idea as to a name. A name should be something personal from yourself. I couldn't help you with that.

P.S. I will also try to make a custom-made elitest monster after awhile of gaming to take advantage of the game and become the ultimate creature...just like evolution does in real life. Darwinism: survival of the fittest. Only the best traits get past on. Only the superior monsters will rein supreme. Only My monsters shall rule as all your monsters' gods! *laughs hysterically*
fenriswolf3
I've been hearing a lot about this Cthulhu guy. I think is is from a book but correct me if I'm wrong. Also, how would you pronounce it.

As for your creatures becoming the ultimate species, you'll have to compete with the Chuck Norris I will create.

As for Darwin, something like 50% of people in the U.S.A don't believe him (which is ridiculuos) although admitadly it is still a theory and puts a strain on all religous belief (thats why he waited until he was about to die to publish it).

On a related note, did you know that there are fish living off the coast of iceland who's blood contains virtually no hemoglobins or menglobins! It would be amazing if you could have that kind of anatical diversity in spore.

It would also be cool if thier were periodical extinctions, like super-volcanoes and asteroids which your creature had to fully utilize all their resources just to survive. Or to give a more mass-market appeal make that part a optional game component.

Cthulhu is from the Cthulhu Mythos created by Lovecraft and expanded on by the Lovecraft circle, a group of fellow aouthors who all shared aideas about Lovecraft's works. The Cthulhu Mythos are the most well known of Lovecraft's works and have influenced almost everything nowadays from movies, to books, to video games, and more. Cthulhu is pronounced like Kthooloo. The "C" is a hard c and the second "h" is silent. Suffice to say, it is one of the easier ones to pronounce...

Cthulhu also runs for pesident every year:

Anyway, back on topic...
I was thinking of making a super-intelligent breed of arachnid/ogre beasts that scuttle around on 8 legs but have a really muscley upper body of an ogrethat has 4 arms. Wierd, but probably very affective as a predator lol

I've been thinking (read 'dreaming') of what life would be like if we had wings. And feathers. And wings. And talons. And, most importantly, wings.

So, essentialy a humaniod/bird/thing

I would guess we wouldnt need airplanes, maybe we wouldnt even cars when you could fly to work, so we wouldnt have as much pollution. although i reckon the skies would get rather crowded. biggrin.gif

great, ninjalord is trying to get fenris wolf to follow his stupid cthulhu god. oh and fenriswolf? i smell a space wolf fan! longlive warhammer 40000 long live lemen Russ!!! hahah space wolves rule.

any way on topic my race would be basicly human except an average 10ft tall except for the woman who would be around 7-8 ft. the men would be extreamly muscler and powerful but the woman will smarter, faster and have a speciall power that makes the males do whatever the women want, just like in real life (damn women, how the hell do they do that?) oh and they have a long lizard tail and wings like hawkman and hawkgirl have.

they are called ................ slek sientific name: greenpeceacus sucksballsacus
Catdemon21
Race: Wookie

After saving the universe Chewbacca was dropped off on a random planet and Han flew away. Chewbacca now has green hair from bad nutrition.

BranniganZapp
Me I want two ,three , or more races
and some would easy know off the bat

1 Smurfs
yes the blue little critters with mushroom house even Mushroom tanks and so on
but in stied of them being nice I hope can make them little Vampire's drunking Blood. Yes its sick

2 Aliens from the move i don't think the game well let make just the parasite then make the Aliens them selves
But I we give it a shot any way. the buildings just one big Hive like city.hostile but with no air ships any one landing with a UFO just might find they lost there crew Mahahahah but don't how power full the game editor for behavior is but I well try to make it work.

3 Snorks
but only if they leave sea life to become smart .
Vampire's as well
4.Keebler elves

I'm sure with all the time it well take build and create the first one I should be able use my Smurfs to engineer
the other lifeforms seeding the galaxy with very cute and Extremely Hostile lifeforms.

to bad the game makers made the Carebears they were going to be on the list as well in city's up high and made to look like clouds.I think the trick well be to make all my lifeforms some how Act friendly to your face then turn on when not looking.dorn it all have to use Sgushlybears form Eak! the cat is my alt. though.

by the way: why play this way? Well I want to draw you in like spider to my web then eat you. Whats the best way to do this. something you just go HAHA thats so cute take look a round keep on laughing right up till my race takes your crews out of your U.F.O. and kills them Space the last stop for you.I can just see someone go what but.....how WTH NOOOO and because of me.spreading the love a round.

I'm sure they probably will make an online version. This would be an excellent online game. There of course has to be a single player version, but online play would be cool.

If the game will let me, I want to make Doppelgangers. That would be so cool! My species would be able to take the forms of others, then when they're least expecting it, they'll change back and attack. I can also drive them insane by taking the forms of their loved ones and attack. Anyone would go insane if they were forced to kill creatures that looked just like their families.

I beg to differ, some of us don't like our families that much. I would also imagine it to be impossible for a number of reasons, conservation of mass for one, limits on the creature options for another.

Giant Chuawawa

Tony the Tiger

And then at the end give the winner a brand new Pontiac.

Which won't do him much good on the liquid planet I will proceed to drop him on.

oh oh oh i just thought of a reaaaaaaly awsome one, make the tyranids from warhammer40k,
that would be sweeeeeeet.

http://www.games-workshop.com.au/games/40k...log/default.htm

About the Tyranids
The Tyranids invade en masse, destroying all in their path as alien spires reach towards the spore-choked skies.

Across the stars, a locust-like swarm of aliens attacked the Imperium of Man and the other species of the galaxy with ravenous ferocity. Known as Tyranids, this race of bio-mechanical monstrosities is driven by a single, narrow purpose: to feed. By ingesting the biomass of entire worlds, the Tyranids grow while absorbing genetic material so they can evolve into more-lethal killing machines.

The first of the Tyranid Hive Fleets that attacked the galaxy were stopped by the forces of Humanity, but barely and at a terrible cost. Whether they can hold back the next wave of Hive Fleets is debatable at best. Humanity's only comfort in this is that the Tyranids are after all biomass in the galaxy, not just humans.

Only fools confuse the ferocity of the Tyranids with a lack of intellect. The Hive Mind orchestrates the activities of the swarm to perpetuate the survival of their race with cold determination. They have consumed entire galaxies before and will not be stopped b any resistance.

In the warzones of Warhammer 40,000, the Tyranids are instinctive masters of swarm-tactics and close combat. They always outnumber their opponents, a fact that often guarantees their victory. Each Tyranid is equipped with diamond-hard rending claws, razor-sharp teeth, and a variety of other bio-weapons. What's even more fearsome are the monstrous creatures striding through a Tyranid swarm like Carnifexes and Hive Tyrants. In total, the Tyranids are a cold and brutal opponent to face. Even the best warriors in the galaxy can hope to only stall the Tyranids' advance.

From the unspeakable cold of the intergalactic void, an immeasurable alien intelligence moves ever closer. Barren husks of countless star systems lie in its wake.

The first tendrils of the Great Devourer, a single entity stretching over light years of space and controlled by the immortal Hive Mind, have probed our galaxy and found it rich in prey.

It has begun to feed.

Yes, well my Yuan-ti will dominate your pathetic insects.
BranniganZapp
yes its single player but what ever you make in the game gets updated to the main sever then down loaded to your P.C.. WHAT you make every one can see they just have to find the planet that your race live on in the Galaxy Map.Thats why You got to make them cute and nonviolent looking to kill someones UFO.If make them Violent looking and acting then they well just blow up the planet and move on looking for things that they can enjoy with out danger to the UFO.thats why you want cute and nonviolent Looking as much as possible.
As for have hivemind thinking I don't think they can make that in the game becouse of the life evolution is based on the evolution theory of humans. Not true life out in the Galaxy if there is any out there.I.E. no hivemind races. If you make bugs they will be Independent not hivemind thats why when stated about I don't know how much that I can control the races inter Behavior to make the Aliens from the move or if can make the Genders look different this way I could make Queens. Because after you make your Race its free to work on its own with out your guiding Hand.Once its up loaded in to the date base it can be Viewed by any one. This is why I want my race to kill the UFO.s Its my only way to kill your most money costing thing that you can buy. That And I want to be able to make planets that can defend them selves from others prying Eyes.

Then you got to look at the sub classes tyranids even if you can make the Genders Radical different they gives you only two classes to work with tyranids have 5 classes that well be hard to pull off right. Unless you make there cars or etc. in to the other classes this way any one flying over your planet can see who and what they are. Then if they have read any Warhammer 40k pull there UFO up to nice high orbit and blow to pure Oblivion.(LOL) why they well know what they are and kill it.your best bet to kill a UFO is you want them to think its not violent. Then have your unmanned race kill there UFO for fun.
by the way there well be a key race if possible(don't know yet) that if you can find you can make friends and use them to make contact with all my other races with out UFO deaths.
thejake1453
heh the tyranids will win in the end, because they're like the orks, limitless, they'll keep on coming and coming and coming, untill they strip the entire universe of biomass see the only time you'll see the tyranids on a planet is when there invading it and striping it of biomass, and you wouldnt be able to destroy the planet wit hyour ufo cos when you'll be heading towards the planet, the tyranid's, in the case of spore, would blow your own ufo up! and when they are finished with the planet it would be baron rock, striped of all living things (and water).
i can still make tyranids without a hive mind, some creatures don't need it,
*cough* genestealers, lictors *cough*

And cute creatures are bad, because now, every one knows thats a defence mechinism, they'll see the cute lil' buggers and say "ohhhh aint they cuuute, Ready the laser beam captain"
BOOM
they're dead.

Oh and CJD the tyranids will defeat the tau (and i'm not saying i hate the tau, there pretty damn cool, i just like tyranids better) eventually, because they are endless and will keep coming and coming and coming, like orks and the necrons (i hate necrons, unlike tyranids the necrons are acually evil) so my tyranids will evetually get the tau, hell they'll even eventuall destroy the imprium of man, the god emperor knows it.

Ninjalord, you no nothin about warhammer 40k even the tau could take down yuan ti, every warhammer 40k race could, the yuan ti are no where near as advanced as the tau or anyone else. And the tyranids would rip them apart, and i'll have to say CJD will agree with me there............. i should start a warhammer 40k topic in the lounge.

this is silly but this is mine

there name is unknown although they look like replicas to velociraptors but smaller and more agile
they live in foresty shady areas there is only 1 male in a tribe more like a pride of lions the male has unique markings or pattern to his scales which shows his dominance a rouge male may fight the dominant for ownership of the tribe.

any males born are grown to adolscent or maturity then thrown out as rouges if they dont want to fight there blue scales glow red to scare away there enemy

they live in caves disguised with branches and sticks there caves dont go into the mountains but into a burrow like meerkats.

the females fight to become the mate of the dominant male each year.

they scavenge and kill small prey but then they go out as a pack and there minds and agility combined there unstopable
