Hi. I recently had to reinstall morrowind due to technical problems with the game. I reinstalled it and I want to transfer my saves into this "new game" Is this possible? if so, how do i do this?

If you salvaged all your old ESS files before reinstalling, simply transplant them back into Data Files\Saves and you'll be set. If your old saves were deleted, you're screwed.

As long as you've got the same mods (if any) loaded, then just copying the files works just fine. The game doesn't care where they came from, I've used save files from other people, backups for modding, etc with no trouble. And the lesson here? Backups are quick and easy, use them!

Actually, and assuming I'm remembering this correctly... There is no "Saves" folder in your MW folder by default. This being the case, if you try to copy your "Saves" (your old *.ess files) into your MW folder you will not find a "Saves" folder there. If you try to create a new "Saves" folder and then move your files into it, MW will not "See" those files when you go to load a previous game.
MW needs to create the "Saves" folder in-game. What this means is, you will have to start a new game and play just until you get out into Seyda Neen where you can F5 (quicksave). Doing so creates the "Saves" folder. Exit that game and THEN move you old saves into the "Saves" folder (and delete you quicksave if you want). Restart MW and you will be able to load your "old" saved games.

Eheh... Sorry about that Data Files\Saves thing...
If you put them there, then just...
...Data Files\Saves>Copy *.ess ...\Saves
...Data Files\Saves>Delete *.ess
...The "Saves" directory is in the Morrowind root, not the "Data Files" directrory.
