I've just watched the Armored Fury Booster pack trailer video. I think it looks quite cool, set in the US (the trailer map is in Colorado) on a interstate junction with big ass trucks, 'off-ramps', and corn silos.
However I couldn't help thinking that it was missing something... Now what could it be? Hmmm, American highway... off-ramp... truck stops. ahhh, I know - McDonalds.
Now that would be realistic if the maps had McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's as flag caps. They could have added another new vehicle - Armored RV, equipped with UAV, Mini-guns and George Foreman Grill.
Another map could have been 'Trailer Park Hell'.
Maybe I should post this to EA?
Cheers,
MadAnt
PS - No offence meant to our American members/readers... I actually spend a lot of time in the Pacific North West and like the US and Americans a lot.

Yeah, and don't forget the malls every 2 - 5 miles on every highway

It definately looks cool -- I like the idea of the planes that have no air-to-air capability. Makes the fighter jets much more suited to what they're actually meant to do -- take out other aircraft and protect the ones on their team.

Will there be any fighters or just ground attack jets? I can see every player on the map hanging around for a A-10. However the little birds look like fun.
Hmmm a map set in a mall... Flags at Abercrombie & Fitch, Sears and 'Kitchen-Spactulars-R-US'. However the main battle will be over the 'Food-hall' flag.
Taking of food in the US, if your ever in Oregon why not visit '%&$!ers Saloon and Cafe'? This is a real Pub and restaurant I've been to in Wilsonville. Check out the website -

I'm not particularly keen on attending the 2nd Annual '%&$!-off' which just sounds sooooo wrong -
Saturday,

Only in America....
EDIT- Sorry, these is not as amusing with the bad word replaced with %&$!, but hopefully you will get my drift.

I'm not sure what i think about these small addons. On one hand i like the idea, new content do help along a game. But on the other hand, looking at all existing problems with the original release and the introduction of features in a patch that nobody wants and not fixing the thing everybody is screaming for since day one kinda gives me the wrong feeling

Is there any clarity on the exact purpose of the little-bird choppers will be? Are the only for recon or do the have small/medium armament. The fev video's i've seen didn't give me an accact answer

Not sure. On the EA website it mentions the US Army has fixed machine guns and rockets to the little bird, but I think (which is quite possibly wrong) that the little bird can be armed OR it can carry passengers. And in AF you can carry passengers, so my guess is no guns or rockets.
However, I wounder if a good tactic would be to carry 1 or 2 spec ops passengers and wizz around dropping C4 on tanks??? The Speed, agility and quietness should allow you get get in behind and over tanks okay...
We wait and see.

The little choppers are small mobile UAV's, so you gotta really zoom into the map for it to be any use.
The guns are pilot controlled.

Some interesting movies, but i'm not entirely convinced about hem little-birds, we will see. The first mention of a possible A10 addition i thought of one thing "death from above" nothing is safe anymore. But seeing the A10 in action i just can't get the idea out of my head it's bunked from the start, it looks so weak and underpowered.

Yeah, well that's a mod, as is DC for BF1942 and in when i played DC 0.2 the A10 was king, but in later DC versions it got weaker so i'm still concearned about what EA/Dice will flunk this "test"

Hmmmm, didn't think much of the A-10. I think smidsy might be disappointed. Very non-responsive and not that effective. Very difficult to pull out of a moderately steep bombing run. Might actually have to try and work out how to use the bombing reticule. However, only played for 10 minutes, so might be an unfair first impression.
The little bird is good fun. Fast and easy to get to far away flags and can stay very close to the ground and out run tanks etc. Easy to get three guys in to take a flag. Might also be useful for dropping C4 on tanks etc.
It was mad to see your team with up to 8 tanks heading toward the last non-cap enemy flag.
Time will tell.

why!? The A10 is the god of Close Air to Ground support, so thats what its supposed to be..... oh well EA/Dice also bunked FN-P90 (but they fixed that) so ther may be hope

Nah man, the Warthog rules, its a challenge using it and its how jets should be; your route, entry, exit and target must be strategic. Aint no complacent J10 flyin permitted here, its a cumbersome aircraft and the controls reflects this.... u gotta start compensating for its flying dynamics.
Havent using the Froggy yet but the chinese bomber Farqing-5 or something you can HEAR how powerful its payload is.., although having a Audigy 4 may be helping here...its guns sound weird though like one of the FAV's guns strapped to the front just more powerful.

I did start getting used to the A-10. I found you have to pull out earlier from a attack run anyway, because the bombs seem to drop short so this helps avoid the trees. Planning your entry and exit will help, and this will be easier when the maps become a bit more familiar.
