First, make sure all the files are where they belong (.esp's belong in the Data Files folder). Second, when loading Morrowind be sure to click on Data Files and select your mods.

Ok, All of the .NIF files go in the "Meshes" folder in the Data Files folder of Morrowind
All of the .dds and .tga's that say "Textures" go into the Texture's file
finally, the .dds and .bmp's that say "icons" go in the icons folder
then load up MW, and select it in the Data Files

Most well done mods will install themselves if you unzip them into the /data files or /morrowind directory. (Check the zip file... if it has a /data files directory in it unzip it to /morrowind, if not to /data files.)
After that, you need to go into the Morrowind Launcher (the little thingy that pops up asking you about Data Files, Run Morrowind, et cetera) and click the mod's name so that a check fills the checkbox. Voila.

Which ones? I've never seen one like that. Any examples? But if your mod is like that, then I get the author didn't do it very well and Theodarius' advice preceeds mine.

and when i mean files in folders, i mean in the .zip file, if u extract and they dont have the right file path they are plopped into the data files folders....ALL MODS, to work, have to have thier files in the correct files (tex, mesh, icons, ect.) in the data files folder to work
