Hi im thinking of bying a Amd Athlon xp 2600 8 for my PC.
But does anyone know if it works good for morrownid???
Fps???
I also have a gforce4 ti 4200 card so the graphic card is good enough, but does anyone know if its a good CPU(Amd Athlon xp 2600 8 )????? huh.gif

well what do you have right now? I think the main thing to boost FPS is a video card (the one you have now works just fine) and RAM. about 516 DDR SDRAM would get you good FPS.

Shouldnt be a problem, I have a 1700 Mhz Athlon, so your speed is good enough. Just keep it up-to-date though... stupid WindowsXP... sad.gif
For FPS (i.e. CounterStrike) this is also enough, but I dont know about SOF or the "newer" games. Should work.

edit: sry, just realized that FPS is Frames Per Second... not First person Shooter

Be sure that you get an Asus A7N8X Mainboard...

i got an AMD Athlon 2600 myself along with a GeForce4 Ti4200, and 512 MB ram, the game runs fine on 80% view distance with pretty much no slowdown (except of course in laggy areas like balmora and ebonheart) usually running at an average of 15-30 FPS in town, anything from 20-45 outside tongue.gif

Mmmmmmmmm... Asus A7N8 Deluxe Mobo...

I've got my eye on one those myself. And a little bit better video card than my current Radeon 8500LE... and some dual channel DDR...

Sighhhhhh...

Heh... I cheaped out and just got the vanilla version. No Serial ATA for me in the near future, but plenty of nForce 2 goodness to go around.

Like you, most likely I'll wind up with the "vanilla" version as I don't see myself giving my current HDD set up (80G C: and a 20G D: both at 7200RPM).

But tell me... Is the sound really as good as I've heard with nF2 chipset? As in "no-soundcard-required" good??

Either way I still have "FSB envy"...

You won't have to give up your HDD setup, the Deluxe version still supports IDE drives (And why wouldn't it, seeing as how the predicted time that SATA will be mainstream is 2006?). And the sound is 6-channel digital using an ALC650 codec. I'm not exactly an audiophile (Sound Blaster 16), so I can't tell you much more.

And what's this about FSB envy? Version 2.0 and above of the mainboard supports the 400 FSB chips.

I was operating on the assumption that the non-deluxe version of the A7... would be cheaper since it doesn't have SATA support... Like you pointed out, no point in paying for it since I won't be using it.

FSB Envy caused by my current mobo's 266 FSB ... sad.gif

Personally, I've got an Athlon XP 2400+ and it runs as sweet as a nut on 100% view distance at 1024x768 with no slowdown whatsoever. Mind you, I do also have a GeForce 4 Ti4800 and 1Gb RAM. tongue.gif biggrin.gif
